I am extremely excited for this game as I did get into betas and i can already tell this game will do extremely well. I also laugh at anyone who compares wow to everything. Everquest and Ultima Online helped start it, sorry but its the truth. Plus back in their times they were just as popular as wow now even more popular on some cases.

You're high, if you think Everquest was as popular as WoW was in it's prime. It wasn't, it was popular but was never WoW popular.

Wow brought in the quest based leveling (Well, promoted it) and that's the only reason I'd compare it to wow. But even then I'd say "Does this game has a generic questing system?". Honestly, comparing MMOs is like generalizing every good book out there. "Intro, Conflict, conclusion sounds like twilight", "You walk with wasd, you talk to an npc and you click a button to attack sounds like WOW".

That being said, Stop comparing this game to WOW. The Graphics aren't even that similar, nor are the features. I'm not a fanboy of this game (Obviously), but there's no need to compare. Just request some information on the MMO instead of comparing.

Only like 60 other games prior to WoW had quest based leveling. WoW only got popular, cause it used the popular Warcraft franchise.

And because they did a lot more advertising. Everquest had what, two commercials on TV, and that's it.

Waiting On: EverQuest Next, FFXV, KH3 ∑ Saving For: An Epic Computer

EverQuest was technically a "MUD." But I guess if you want to count non-MUDs:
