Default TERA - Enmasse - New update adds Solo Dungeons

    http://tera.enmasse.com/news/patch-notes/patch-2505

    Solo Dungeons

    • Solo dungeons have been added to leveling zones.
    • Bastion of Lok (5-minute cooldown)
    • Sinestral Manor (5-minute cooldown)
    • Cultists’ Refugee (5-minute cooldown)
    • Necromancer Tomb (5-minute cooldown)
    • Golden Labyrinth (5-minute cooldown)
    • Ebon Tower (1-hour cooldown)
    • Multiple completion routes are available for each dungeon.
    • The completion route variants are marked with different colors on the mini map.
    • A random completion route is assigned to the player upon entry.
    • The player can only move within the given route.
    • If killed, the player is resurrected at the start of the assigned dungeon route.
    • Dungeon cooldown timer starts at the time of entry.
    • The dungeons can accommodate up to a three-player party.
    • Normal monsters in the dungeon drop health restoration motes.
    • Reduced boss monsters’ HP.

    New Stuff

    • Added inventory filters.
    • The filters sort and highlight items in your current inventory.
    • All: Displays the default view of your inventory.
    • Equipment: Highlights weapons, armor, and accessories.
    • Costume: Highlights costumes and weapon skins.
    • Consumables: Highlights consumables typically used for combat, such as potions and crystals.
    • Crafting Items: Highlights crafting materials and recipes.
    • Quest Items: Highlights quest-specific items.
    • Misc.: Highlights items that do not belong to any of the above filters.
    • You can still manually sort your items under the All filter. Using other filters will not alter the default All item view of the inventory. You can use any filters without worrying about the filters resorting your default inventory.
    • Items cannot be manually moved while other filters are in use.
    • Hands of Velika faction has changed.
    • Now appears upon reaching level 11.
    • Hands of Velika reputation rewards have been added to some story quests.
    • Players can now click on the mail icon next to the radar map to open mail UI.
    • Only plain text mail can be viewed.
    • Write/reply/parcel functions still require a banker NPC.
    • Automatic sharing of zone kill quests has improved, and now group members advance to the same step.

    Miscellaneous

Avatar weapons for Isren and Karas are slightly easier to complete.
Avatar weapons’ level requirements have changed:

    • Level 16 weapons increased to level 20.
    • Level 24 weapons increased to level 26.
    • Level 30 weapons increased to level 32.
    • Level 36 weapons increased to level 38.
    • Level 42 weapons increased to level 44.
    • Level 48 weapons increased to level 50.
    • Level 54 weapons increased to level 56.
    • Items will drop normally even when a high-level player is in the party.
    • Screenshot save location changed to C:\Users\name\Pictures\TERA_ScreenShots.
    • Items now stack to whole numbers such as 10, 100, and 1000 instead of 9, 99, 999 and so on.
    • Notes on players’ friends list now have an eight-character limit.

Hooray for more single player content and drive to socialize less with other people.

I like the solo dungeon idea, personally I prefer farming alone as it's much more efficient and less stressful that way since there's no one there to rush you. Still, that's not good enough to make me want to go back to Tera.

Meh. You could pretty much solo the team dungeons already. What I want is the new class...

I do like to Solo, relying on other people is just waste of time and energy, because you know 99% of the time someone ****s up the party, by leaving mid run, someone gets themselfs killed... or wipes the party...

Playing with friends or people you know that's a different story.

Solo-viability let's you play the game at your own pace without being forced to rely on other people to progress. It's especially evident in end game when often times you just sit around because you can't find a (good) party, I'm not saying all games are like that but it's certainly a problem in many party focused MMOs. No guild, no end game.

Secondly who said doing dungeons is the ONLY way to socialize...there are other options like PvP, Trading, hanging out in towns or simply using a voice chat with your friends, you don't have to do the same thing to enjoy someone's company, especially in modern times. No one is forcing anyone to play solo, it's just an option for those who prefer it and believe me there are many people who enjoy solo dungeons, myself included.

As someone who is well-versed in the experience of TERA.

The game is all about end-game, and everyone has already gotten there. Leveling is a major pain because you can never do dungeons until now. Adding this makes the experience way more friendly to new players, and way more welcoming to older players who want to start over/make an alt.

Personally, I feel the devs should incorperate stuff that makes people want to experience mid game again, but TERA has sort of gotten settled with its fanbase, and everyone finds a way to rush to end-game anyway, so I guess I can see why they just added solo dungeons.

I mean, their new class is only for like level 40 players, and getting to level 40 alone takes a while unless you have nothing to do for a week.

TERA has actually been working really hard to make their game a lot more approachable. End game gear is so much easier to get, but of course, you could probably get it in three days if you subscribe for at least a month, which honestly, is worth it imo. I love the game, I just never have time to be logging in everyday to do dailies.

Those 'solo' dungeons allow up to 3 players, so yeah you can still play them with e.g. your best friend. That's nice.

What I don't get is why they add exploration by allowing multiple routes (great thing, MMORPGs need this more often) just to take it away again by randomly selected a route for the player rather then the player being able to choose it.

Good to see the game developing well and always been impressed by en masse constant updates and doing their best to listen to the community.. Probably the best game producer out there, only wish the game ran better on my PC then I would give it more attention one day.

Solo dungeons is an interesting twist and a good one because I know soloing some lvl 60 dungeons are a bit difficult especially if your newish to the game and your gear isn't that good just yet.

Getting a new video card soon so I'll test out the game again sometime soon..

Don't expect too much, the game is terribly optimized so you'll get bad FPS in certain areas no matter what. That, plus the game doesn't use the full potential of graphic cards, it's mostly CPU dependant so if you wanna get higher FPS in Tera better upgrade your processor instead.

Yeah I've read on the forums a decent graphics card doesn't make much of a difference, but I'll test out the theory and see if it made a difference for me.

Only thing I really wanted to do was PVP but it was pretty unplayable with the lag I had ;(

It's the HUD mainly. The game is terrible with multi-threaded processors such as AMD. Processors like Intel do better because they're more geared toward single-thread.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.
    Playing MMO: FFXIV (Balmung)
Waiting On: FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior, RE:FFVII · Saving For: New Computer

Every time I think of single player dungeons it reminds me of Age of Conan... I mean they make for awesome cut scenes and scripted events, but at the same time I actually don't mind them because in a MMO you aren't always guaranteed to get a group to do stuff anyways.

Indeed. I tend to like Solo Dungeons more. Mainly for groups that hate going through everything at a normal pace. (I like watching cutscenes, etc.)
