While I think Wildstar is pretty fun.... I don't think it's good enough for a monthly fee. Shame, if it was B2P or F2P I'd probably really enjoy playing it.

Since I managed to get one of my characters to LV32+ during closed beta, I can enjoy the four beta weekends without having to pre-order or obtain a beta key. I'll pre-order the game when things get closer to launch.

Edit: Scratch that, I caved in and pre-ordered anyway, because someone gave me a voucher that takes 20% off the price for the Deluxe Edition, lowering it to $60 USD.

If anyone is thinking of pre-ordering at the moment, get it from GreenManGaming and use this code: PLOCVS-G2T5YX-DATY6M
It's only good 'til Friday, however.

If anyone is still looking for keys I just found a giveaway on a site in german, it just asks for your e-mail address. I typed mine and got a key on the next minute, lol.

Thanks for the key. Wildstar looks pretty generic from the videos, but I guess I'll try it out now.

The only reason why I think this game is getting so hyped is because they marketed it well.
It honestly doesn't seem worth a monthly fee, seeing as there are tons of F2P games with the same - if not, more - features.

I really hoped it was going to be basically "Walt Disney Presents: World of Warcraft", only to find it's even more dumbed down than WoW ._.

Eh, I found the game to be pretty meh before I sold my beta account back in november. My dislike of the electric slide gameplay aside, I especially wish that the tongue in cheek humor was actually noticeably present ingame. The dev speaks and marketing really amps it up but it just isn't there. I found warcraft to be more humorous for that matter.

I'm not going to play World of Warcraft again because Wildstar is coming out. Mainly because it seems Draenor will only come out after Wildstar does, a shame really.

Did you play WoW before it released?

This is actually pretty unlikely from what I've seen in their features and whatnot. We'll see though.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.
    Playing MMO: FFXIV (Balmung)
Waiting On: FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior, RE:FFVII · Saving For: New Computer

Well, it's NCsoft after all, many of their games have gone F2P after a while. Sure, perhaps not in a year, but eventually. I guess that will depend on its success though.

And that could be said for every P2P MMO.

Yes, what I meant was that there are companies that would rather shut down a game that isn't being profitable than attempt to turn it F2P. NCSoft on the other hand isn't a stranger to the F2P model and is willing to take it if the game isn't successful.

Not like they will try to save every single game, that's unrealistic. Oh but I forget, fanboyism is anything but realistic.

    what are you talking about
    legit confused
anyway, several of those games were very popular when they decided to pull the plug, they could've simply transitioned to f2p (because lbr server maintenace isn't that costly anymore) and would've probably earned more money in the long run.
    but, ncsoft.

Well they'd also need support of the devs being that it would be a change of contract(and other things, as now both dev and pub need to agree on how to handle F2P), and if they don't want to then obviously the publisher[NCSoft] is SoL.
