Default Game with a complex pet system?

I've been searching for a game with a pet system similar to Battle of Immortals(not War of Immortals), does anyone have a suggestion? I don't like browser games(web based) something like Runescape would be fine, anything with 2d/3d graphics is fine.

IMO, Rappelz Online remains the best MMO with combatant pets.
It's WNxPyrZern. Pleased to meet you.

Angels Online has evolution paths for pets (based on if you praise, scold, etc. Each and every pet had four different final evolutions.) But it's a very pay2win game.

Mabinogi's "Pets" can be logged in as, etc. (Have stats, rebirths, etc.)

I think Pokemon has a complex pet system. You can breed them and raise them for combat. They can also be taught special moves, and they have damage modifiers based on their type, the spell they cast, and the enemy type. I also hear you can control two pokemon at once.

I personally enjoyed PsyPets for the community.

I agree it has a good pet system, but the game itself is rough. It is also extremely difficult to get the high end pets (or at least it used to be). I remember people grinding yettis for many hours a day for weeks waiting for the pet to drop. Since then they have added more pets from what i have seen. They did also offer pets in the cash shop occasionally. The graphics are terrible and the game is super grindy. The dungeons before were non instanced and often times you would have 2-3 groups waiting for a boss to spawn and it was a race as to who would tag it first. Sometimes the "losing" group would then run out and train mobs onto you. I have not played for a few years so things may have changed, but not likely

Well of Souls has a pet system where you can capture any monster you encounter and train it to fight for you. It levels alongside you and gains stats based on how often you play with it, wash it, feed it junk items, etc.

You didn't ask if you wanted it to be free or not. So I'll throw Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and World of Warcraft at you.

I dunno if Digimon Online is still up. Then there's Shin Megami Tensei--if you count demons as pets.

Dofus had a rather interesting and lengthy pet system with dragoturkeys and breeding, but it's not very newbie friendly. It might seem overly complex as well, but all involved pet systems are.
