Default ESO announces its first content patch

ESO is introducing its first Adventure Zone known as Craglorn.

I've got to admit... After playing the beta I didn't think I'd ever play this game again, but after seeing some people's thoughts about it I decided I would give it a second chance and invest some more time. Long story short, I'm REALLY glad that I did. Like a lot of people have said, it's no Skyrim, but as an MMO it does what it does very well and rewards you. Aside from a few bugs here and there I'm having a blast now. $60 well spent.

Its not trying to be Skyrim. when ES:6 comes out you can ***** about it not being like Skyrim. If youre going to dislike something, dislike it for what it is and not what it isnt.

ESO is its own beast that is very much worth your time and money.

Instead of trying to come out with new amazing endgame grinding crap they should focus on things like their launcher not even working half the time >_>

It's Meh compared to every other action MMO
Combat is terrible, even for an elder scrolls game where bad combat is expected
Great for exploring though, I'm liking the world. Wish it had a more mystical feel to it but it makes for a nice low fantasy setting.

I would like to play it, but it was either that or have my cat's balls chopped off so he would stop pissing on my pillow.
    Maybe next time...

Putting money on D3 over this game? lol goes to show you how bad it is... lol. it was obvious from the get go that it was gonna crash n burn :| too many people hyped it up. sigh. never like the game series anyways. garbage.

Fantastic game. Definitely a breath of fresh air. It is unfortunate people feel the need to trash it without giving it a fair shot. And don't pretend you did either! We all know you played one of the first betas and made your decision. If you tried betas towards release you would have been hooked.

HAHAHAHAHA!! u act as if the last beta made the game do a 180 and it's some magical perfect game that is worth a monthly sub! the game is very bland and does nothing special. its a mmo with the elder scrolls name tacked on so people would play it. if this game didn't have the elder scrolls name on it then everyone would just see it as a generic fantasy mmo like it is. i don't feel bad for all the people paying that monthly sub cause they lost a lot of money when game goes b2p in a year(if that long)

I personally dont care much for the Elder Scrolls franchise so my liking ESO has nothing to do with being a fanboy.

I like questing: ESOs questing is abundant and solid.

I like building my character how I want: ESO gives me full control over how I want to play and doesnt lock me into anything except my initial class choice.

Exploring is fun: ESO rewards exploring with free skill points and exp.

Endgame: ESO literally has something for everyone here.

Not seeing a generic fantasy mmo here...

i actually impulse bought the game and played it for about a full week.
in short, a lot of the quests are bugged and not worth doing, the dialogue is shitty and the voice actors are extremely dull (the voice actor for the prophet even changes after a point )

the combat system is highly flawed and i personally would've preferred a polished tab-target system similar to wow/archeage, but they just HAD to try and re-create skyrim combat and make it worse (implying skyrim combat is anything to write home about lol)

skills are lacking, and pretty much every class will run the same build while leveling because there is no point not to aoe grind to get to 50 in 24 hours.

end-game? what end-game? more aoe grinding to get to vr10 to do some laughably bad raids because the combat system is so awful.
only good thing about ESO is cyrodiil, but like gw2, it won't keep the game alive.

There is a HUGE point not to grind to 50. It is your own fault if you want to rush and choose most AoE build out there. I am personally going full support on a Dragon knight. It will be slow going for me but i'll get to 50 when I do and with the skills I want! Again, that is COMPLETELY your fault.

Combat is probably the most enjoyable combat I have experienced in an mmo. I will pop an armor boost skill, then hurl a rock ball at oponents knocking them down while shooting them with my staff, They will get and get too close in which I will snare them and quick roll away and continue shooting them down :P. oodles of epic ))

If you got to endgame in a week you should go outside more. If not, you can't say anything about endgame lol. You were not there.... And raids will not be laughably bad, because combat is great.

Candyholic, you sound kind of like a troll. Everything you said was your opinion and you are definitely in a minority when it comes to people who have ACTUALLY played the game.

Maybe they blew too much of their budget on Steve Blum?

Also apparently people aren't allowed to speak negative opinions in this thread

Place your bets on when ESO will switch to F2P ;p

I'd say about a year or two.

You can have negative opinions all you want. I dont care whether you like the game or not.

The fact that people cant look past the name or the fact that its not Skyrim or blatantly have no idea what theyre even talking about is whats not needed.

The fact that this game even started as B2P+P2P is because of the name.

Also, by your logic it seems that anyone who has a 'negative opinion' about the game 'doesn't know what he's talking about'? ...Ok then.

Not really sure where you are picking this up. I said no such thing. Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension.

Let me give you an example of what Im trying to say here.

Valid negative criticism: "Mobs dont give worthwhile exp and questing gets repetitive" or "Rewards from dungeons arent enough to make them worthwhile"

Not valid/uninformed criticism: "Its not Skyrim so its crap, keep wasting your money" or "generic fantasy mmo lol"

... ESO seems to be shaping into a very good MMORPG, if nothing else. And let me be clear, the game is FULL of content. I've put 40+ hours into the game on just one character and I've only just reached level fifteen....you can definitely take your time and have something to do constantly...

True to its name, the questing in this game puts the questing in almost every other MMO to shame. Almost every quest you do will be part of some story-line you can't help but be immersed in. The voice acting, the writing, the choices – they all add up to the signature Elder Scrolls story-telling experience that we've all come to love. And ESO has it all.the choices I make do have an effect on how the story-arc ends. You might choose to give a greedy Lady a cursed crown in order to trap her spirit and teach her a lesson, only to find out that she has her innocent servant touch it before she does and instead traps his soul. Or you could just give her the true crown and keep the current trapped soul in his prison so that no innocents would be sacrificed to free him. Almost every other quest you do will have you make some choice or another that will affect the outcome.

Another great thing about the questing is it actually impacts the world around you. Well, to be clear, it impacts your own personal vision of the world. Due to the phasing technology that ESO employs, the world you are seeing can be quite different than that of your friends. Sometimes this is as simple as making a previously hostile zone free of enemies (or vice versa), or it might make the Wyr Sisters show up to help a struggling town with their wounded, after you've saved their Wyrd tree.
This actually kinda makes me want to buy

The game's quests make you make CHOICES and they actually impact the outcome of the quest. I'm not sure if you get different rewards though. I remember one where I either had to choose the save this guy's dad or make his son go get him alone(Which would probably result in him dying, plus the town would burn down) or save the town from being burned down by the bandits and run them out. It's a good game and has a lot of depth. These people with their "opinions" really aren't giving it much of a fair chance and are rushing through. If you play strictly to get to max level you WILL get bored, but if you take the time to explore and appreciate the lore, it's really fun.
