    You have no idea how wrong you are. It's almost purely trial and error. On top of that a decent part of the enemies are too unpredictable and random which ends up in many "bullshit" situations.
    Also, there are fair amount of enviromental traps you pretty much won't notice until you get hit/die from them.

    But to me it's a great game for exploration and even if you thought you explored an area already, you can be sure that there is still stuff you missed. On top of that a very good variety of enemies and combat options for you.

    idunno, i've only died about three times so far, and those three times were all because i clearly went the wrong way (into the undead graveyard).

    kinda like how in baldur's gate 1 if you went off the path too early ankhegs would one shot kill you with their acid breath projectile.

    Well yeah, there is a difference between going where you are not supposed to because you are still weak vs going places you have to go and just die in most bullshit ways.
