    Default Anyone here playing ANYTHING?

I got $, I got time, and trying to find a DECENT game in general. I'm not picky, I don't care if graphics are cartonish, anime, 2d as long as they are not painful to watch (both 3rd or 2d).

I don't care if the game is PvE/PvP only or both or I wouldn't care either if I'm paying $500 a year if I know exactly what I'm receiving for every single $.

What I do mind are games designed to be played as single players and claim to be MMO's. I do mind games that try to rip me off. I do mind games that in general have bad management either in cash shops or not properly secured and if vulnerabilities do exists at least they are quickly and swiftly taken care of.

So, I ask this community WTF are you playing and more importantly why are you playing it? I'm so curious to see the type of answers I'll get and thats the other saddest part. I'll most likely get the type of responses: cuz my friends play it, cuz there is RvR, open world PvP, raiding, cuz it's turn based, cuz it's NEW, cuz I've been playing it for years and nothing better to move on to, and so on and so on and so on.

THOSE ARE NOT VALID REASONS for one to play a game, since most games are based around those things. So, I'm so curious to see how many players from this community are ACTIVELY playing a game and I would love to get detailed response with ONE GOOD reason why their game is worth to be played compared with the hundred of other games that exist and existed on the market.

It seems like most around here just like to jump into the action and play a casual MOBA/FPS/RTS/card game with their friends and win/lose some games and repeat the same process OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

I remember back in the days when I played 100,000 Star Craft matches (1v1/2v2/3v3) the reason I overplayed that game to the core is because there was a lot of conflicts, interaction and epic experiences. I've won some epic battles amonst one of the best players in a pure 1v2 or even 1v3 and saving those replays and showing to the community was priceless. We had clans going on, we had smurfs (hiddin under different names, to just get into those games and destroy those 3v3 newb grinders for perfect score and wins). We had ladder ranking, we had trading (yes trading unique names or names that could not be used anymore) We had user map games for variety, we had A LOT more than just typical, repetitive battlegrounds.

In general, Star Craft 1 was a gem that comes twice a century. The music, the skill cap, the action, the balance and perfection amongst the races. The story, the voices, everything worked smoothly. It was an epic experience, but I just dont see that type of experience in current games out there.

    So, anyone here playing ANYTHING?

LOL.....love how you italicized your reply.

But anyways, not to piss the OP off but.....I spend most of my time working nowadays cuz I work for a living and need to pay bills and expenses. I spend a lot of my time playing iPad games The last game that I played ACTIVELY was a few years ago.....Fiesta Online by Outspark, now published by Gamigo. I retired from the game because I didn't like some of the GMs and I was busy with personal life. But I was an active player for 3-4 years.....awesome community. Problem was the GMs kept changing every 4-6 months. If I were to play an MMO, I would have to do a search and find an MMO that is big, active, free, decent graphics, modernized, and possibly a fantasy genre. Maybe Rift or Tera? Not really sure. I choose games with great communities and GMs....oh and I also choose games that are non-sidescroller and are 3D. Hate 2D sprite games. There are TONS of games that look like rip-offs of each other but it's so easy to see which games has crappy service and crappy communities. But there are MILLIONS of gamers out there and every gamer has different taste in a game.

That beginning part of your reply was not needed. He asked if anyone is playing anything, not if you're working or jacking the **** off.

He can put whatever he feels like as long as he is on topic. No need to be such a douche.

Anyways, I'm currently playing FF: ARR right now. I love all of the boss fights, they require precise group coordination and tactics. Definitely a good game to play with some friends and a good guild. I've been playing since launch back in August and no game has really interested me as much as this one. Music is really good too. Check out some videos on Youtube of some of the primal fights.

I don't quite understand what OP is asking. It seems he is ranting about the quality of games of recent to what he's experienced.

It seems you really need to ask will this game entertain you?

The games I played in 2012 - 2013 is The Secret World, Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn simply because it entertained me the time I played it. The reason I stopped playing is simply because I didn't find it entertaining anymore through the choice of the developer or Game Director/Producer.

Now in search of a new game that I find that will entertain me for x amount of time.

playing a little Guild Wars 2 - the most immersive multiplayer game I've ever played, and the combat is great. very fluid. and there are a lot of ways to support my allies

and a lot of Wakfu - tactical game, and I love tactics, and it has some of the most extensive support play I've ever seen

I wouldn't follow any onrpgers in a game because it's a trend here to quit a game within a day or a week at most, i've had numerous friends just be left all alone the next day right after joining onrpgers multiple times no offense. don't let the quitters ruin your hype!

Sdgo is a great 3d person shooter that also has meleeing options, robots with homing missles/megabeams aka no probleming hitting people. and also has lockon (right click to lock onto a target) the game has pve content but i play it mostly for the pvp, however i pve for quest rewards so i could earn more robots etc. what kind of game gives you a high tier unit for a quest reward??? this game gives you like 4 or so S ranks, that's really nice.

I play this game because of the fun gameplay and i really liked the gundam animation series, there are many good looking mobile suits, fair ammount of technics to master (isn't really required but if you master them, you could be unstoppable)

I also like the idea of gacha aka rolling a capsule machine for a gundam, collecting 400 or so mobile suits is fun, there are alot of events held in cherry credits sdgo so i hope you try it out some time!

here is a gameplay video berserkD has even more interesting videos so check his channel if you like.
    YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

i play on the worst pc possible so i turn everything off so it looks like this on lowest settings, too bad these were saved in jpg format..

if i turn on all the settings it looks like this

though i was still using lowest settings on my graphic card since it's integrated so this means it wasn't even on the highest settings

    http://sd.cherrycredits.com

here is a mirror download link because they block foreign ips from downloading but lets you play it
    http://edge.cdn.starhub.com/sdgo/ful...ntVer0_6_9.zip

the game is far from p2w but you can buy an S rank which is the highest tier with like 15 dollars or so but they don't automaticly win with it and it only takes a few days to build an S rank, i can use the worst C rank and kill most of the S rank users no problem. you also get around 3-4 free S ranks through quests. they also do alot of events so you should keep an eye on it.

here are some screenshots that i saved a while back, this was the older version of sdgo so you could tell the difference in UI

enemy are obviously your kills, support is assist aka bruising your enemy etc. shotdown is the ammount of deaths

i kept killing them without them noticing my low health and ended up surviving the whole match like that rofl

5 guys came after me and got caught in my special and i gotta admit they were pure stupid, i never expected to kill 5 at once so easily xD

at first they make you do missions until your user rank is 2 strips, after that you're allowed to pvp.

you use both keyboard and mouse to play this game. but you could always change the controls but i find that to be too much of a work and i prefer using wasd in this game.

also there are special attacks in this game which is weapon 4 when you use it, if it's a melee special you dash towards your target and you're invincible during the dash, you could use a special to avoid another player's special and melee them as they die wondering why their special failed.

As the OP and Abhorsen, I also think that current MMORPGs aren't really interesting and also lack social aspects. So just like Abhorsen, I don't play MMORPGs at all at the moment and go for offline games instead.

I'm just playing Dota 2 on a daily basis for now. There aren't any new MMOs out there that interest me as they all have stopped to feel 'massive' and immersive. :S

Guild wars 2 for the past year and a half.

    Reasons:
    - Great graphics
    - Solid character look and customization
    - Huge player base
    - CONSTANT updates
    - pvp balances based of community feedback
    - Only game with s(tructrued)pvp system which allows all players on equal ground, pure skill based team pvp with ranks/tournaments/community that strictly do only so.
    - You can level and achieve pve/wvw things thru spvp
    - Many different builds and roles for each class which can instantly be tried and tested free at any time
    - Huge active world vs world (wvw) in which gaining territory on a neutral map for your server is focus
    - Solid pve where literally running around the world will level you up. Would take too long explaining all the fun aspects of pve
    - extremely fluid movement and combat system
    - End game gear very easily obtained. VERY easily. In fact you work for cosmetics in the game.
    - No current mmo with all these features .

You gotta be kidding me right? Arenanet is completely cluess when it comes to class balance, and no they don't listen to the community feedback. I do like GW2 but there's hardly any content that interests me, you just spam dungeons everyday and you might get a legendary in 5 months. That's it.

i wont lie, i'm bored of the game as well so I'm certainly not posting from a fanboy point of view. But no, I'm not kidding. I'm not a fan of where the meta has shifted to in the game, in fact i complain about it ALL the time, but if you think they don't balance the classes based off of feedback then, no offense but you're just an idiot. Read thru the forums, when the majority of people begin to come together and all agree a certain build from a certain class is overpowered (or underpowered), it had been changed.

Stun lock warrior was locking too much everyone said....nerf to stun sigil and trait movement
Perma stealth with thieves were too much everyone said....nerf to stealth with reveal debuff and initiative gain in stealth
Longbow was completely worthless in pvp everyone said...major buffs in damage, speed, and utility to longbow
DPS gaurd didn't do any dps they said....buff to dps guardian builds, now they hit like trucks
Dhuumfire was completely OP everyone said....immediate nerf to dhuumfire

Do i really have to go on? Seriously i don't know any game that has a big a pvp or pve community as guildwars where they are constantly making an effort to balance out the classes in pvp. It's on par with moba balancing. Like i said though, i don't agree with some changes nor do i like the current meta, but to say they don't listen to community feedback is completely ludicrous. Have you even SEEN the spvp forum? half the damn threads have dev responses to them. They even have state-of-the-game interviews where they bring in top players with devs to discuss balancing issues. Name me 3 mmos that make kind of effort in terms of balance.

You and i are in different worlds in gw2, i played mainly for the pvp and lived in the mists. We played different games from that standpoint.

Ever seen a PvP match that takes real skill?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxxkDYBayiM

You have to be smarter than your opponent and kill his mercenaries. How many games allow you to control 8 merc + Main? This game is time consuming though, but once you get the hang of it, you'll want more and more.

ive been playing Smite + Champions of Regnum.
Smite is really good for that hard pvp fixd, and Regnum for that epic-open-world-dunno-what-is-going-to-be-happening-out-there feel.

im very interested io try Marvel Heroes and SDGO.
I even installed Planetside 1, but im not super interested in fps styled scifi shooters.
Be warned - I am a major player of Regnum Online the mmo. I've been playing it for about 2 years and rarely go without logging in at least once a day. You can also look at good alternatives to Regnum such ase Aion online and Aika Online.
