    Default Godzilla, King of Monsters

Whose seen the movie? I went and saw it in 3d yesterday and it was an amazing movie, definitely a must see movie this year. Hopefully this means that more giant monster movies will see the light of day.

Been wanting to see it, haven't gotten around to it yet. Everyone I've talked to has said it was great.

Saw it last monday on 3D too, was great. But I'm getting tired of Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

    Aaron Taylor-Johnson is so bad...

Godzilla is the real star and the CGI is great. The rest not so much.

    What a cringe-worthy script

I loved it myself, a lot of people complain about "not enough Godzilla" in it, but I felt the build up was always worth it for the pay off.

That ending battle in particular, the pay off for his Atomic Breath was glorious. Godzilla himself was extremely impressive, they also managed to give him great body language I felt.

Easily one of my favorite Godzilla films, though I would have liked them to use Cranston more as he was easily the best human character but god damn did he use his time on screen well.

Review of it, these guys I tend to like watching http://blip.tv/the-cinema-snob/midni...dzilla-6885268

Their videos usually contain spoilers however

Note they don't start talking about it till about 10 minutes in, the first 10 minutes or so is them talking about how bad Godzilla 98 was.

Also, for those looking forward to a sequel, it made well over 93 million in it's opening weekend and the director has supposedly said he's interested in the Monster Island concept.

    Edit:

Good, but yeah, not enough Godzilla.
Yeah I understand buildup but my god that kind of buildup pissed me off.
They literally show you small glimps then just shut the door in your face(yeah, they actually did).
Cranston and Godzilla/MUTO's were the only things I was interested in for the movie, the other characters not so much.

    excellent monster movie.

for the most part, well paced. dragged a little bit in the middle.

honestly surprised to see so many people critical of how Godzilla the monster is treated in the film.

what makes the movie great is the visual artistry. godzilla smashing shit isn't the reason you watch this movie, it's for startling and beautiful and eerie cinematography that consistently delivers throughout. godzilla is still great, but the visual context that he is fighting shit in is even better.
