Default Trying to find another MMORPG like RuneScape

    Hello

I have been playing RuneScape for about 7 years now. I have been trying for such a long time to find an MMORPG that is like RuneScape but MMORPGs these all look the same to me. They have a lovely map and graphics but it only has combat in it.

I want to find a game with the following:
    - Has to be F2P
    - Non-combat and original combat (Skills and something with no bar where you have click buttons to kill things)
    - Updated weekly/monthly with new content
    - The game needs to be something that will be addictive
    - The levelling cannot take forever to get a high levels in
    - Needs to be web based

I hope you can help me find something like this!

First i would like to welcome you to the Onrpg community....

Its going to be impossible to find something that is F2P and P2P....I don't even think that exist. there just needs to be way more info on what style game you want us to help you find. because right now i can give you several lists that will fit all of these, except the f2p/p2p thing....

If you're selling your RuneScape account I'm interested.

Entropia Universe has crafting, mining, sweating, and combat can be fully-automated you just need to click a target. It's also "F2P and P2P" because while you can do anything as a free player the economy uses currency exchangeable with real life money and F2P players only make <10 cents an hour.

Fallout Reloaded was a pretty fun 2D MMO game made out of an old single player game (Fallout 1 & 2). It has a large focus on gathering and crafting. There's even player homes and faction bases.

There's also Fantasy Realms Online. It's like a mix of Runescape and Ultima Online. Has player housing (the ability to purchase homes in the NPC cities), and a strong focus on crafting and gathering. Combat was fun, too.

you're asking for too much, considering the developers these days are selfish as hell developing browser, mobile games because it takes no money then force people to pay unless they want to lose most of the time :3 it really pisses me off that they're only making automated turnbased games where all you do is watch and gear up and paying cust****s become 20 times stronger than you.

turnbased is already a turn off but it's automated, better off watching an anime or a drama if i was playing a game to watch stuff, but lets make it necessary to atleast gear them up since they need to make real money off of a game that they didn't waste a single cent on developement hurray!

games like runescape are usually unpopulated like 10-20 players tops - eldevin for example. there are hardly games that update monthly with new content, they just relax and make free money really. i honestly suggest you to try a different game, just because you liked runescape doesn't mean you won't like another style, honestly one of the very few reasons why someone likes runescape is that it was their first game, they haven't played any other game better than it.

here are some games i love and these arn't as grindy either, they have many good looking avatars to customize your character and fun gameplay.

Path of Exile With gameplay similar to Diablo and Drakensang, players must survive this post-apocolyptic fantasy world either solo or by teaming up with other exiles. The realistic, visceral combat and gritty artstyle will help immerse players in this cutthroat survivalist game world. things to note: game might be demaning on computer specs and also the size of this game is nearly 6 gigabytes but gameplay is worth it in my opinion

    https://www.pathofexile.com/

Aura Kingdoms is a free to play MMORPG that focuses on companion interaction. Journey throughout the land with companions that are far more than just pets along for the ride. There will be eight different classes for you to choose amongst each with their complex skill trees, the graphics are marvelous so im like totally going to play this right now, i nearly forgot that this was one of the games i had on my playlist rofl

    http://aurakingdom.aeriagames.com/

Mabinogi is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG with unique anime styled graphics. Mabinogi is a one of a kind game with an endless list of unique features. Players can compose music, design clothes, milk cows, get a part time job and much more. Characters also grow older as time goes by but can rebirth every week for free! you never age like a grandpa but get taller until you reach the maximum height for your race. there is an Arena or you could Request a duel.

Elsword is like an arcade side scroller game where you travel left or right and have up to three skills that requires charges (you need to hit the monsters to charge up a bar or two, three bars to use a skill, it's like their mana system) there are certain avatar items and uniques you could obtain to make your character look a bit different, when you class advance you either get longer hair or some other appearance changes. it's really entertaining and worth investing money in for avatars :3 max level is 50 and it takes less than a month or two.

Dungeon Fighter Online is probably one of the best side scrollers for pvp, i really loved pvping there and alot of people go there whenever they feel like it or when they run out of stamina bar / stress meter / fatigue / blitz points, currently in alpha phase needs facebook account to join the alpha test, they arn't wiping levels, game is like a remake of dungeon[/YOUTUBE]

Red Stone is 2d fantasy mmorpg - actually fits the 2.5d isometric view since it's similiar to diablo 2 or darkeden it is set in a fantasy colonial setting and has a fairly rich story for those patient and willing enough to explore it. The gameís most notable feature is its incredibly large selection of playable classes and skills. however i believe there isn't any customization it's a small game though 600 mbs with guild vs guild (im not sure if it has a 1v1)
    http://redstone.ogplanet.com/en/main.og

Dragon Nest is a fast paced 3D fantasy action MMORPG . The game has cute anime inspired 3D graphics and is set in the world of Lemuria. The gameís most unique aspect is its fun dynamic combat system. Unlike other MMORPGs, Dragon Nest offers randomized dungeons which keep the game fresh. 2 gigabytes but worth it, only has arena pvp
    http://dragonnest.nexon.net/

Wakfu is a turnbased mmorpg with many unique classes and very pvp, pve, you do press keys but you dont press them as much, you might also be able to use skills with a mouse by clicking the shortcuts, i'll try it out when i reinstall it - i prefer wakfu asia since its f2p without region block (i think it dont block any)

    http://www.wakfu.asia/en/mmorpg

Luminary : the rise of Goonzu is one of the old games that have lost many players over the past few years but surpisingly still running, they have four characters they do have a small lore but appearance is the only thing that seperates each other. the game has alot of crafting, cooking. herbary cloths. the game is has player driven economy and price changes depending on how much people sold their item in the auction for, joining a city gives status boosts 90 stats depending on which faction it belongs to, dragon, tiger, green turtle, pheonix or something like that. green turtle is the best imo for the high health gain. there are tons of weapons to craft and monsters give multiple resources for them. so grinding a certain monster (even low levels drop items worth 30k gold!) pve is really fun with many quests to complete, the game isn't that "popular" but has enough to realise the game is still running. you just need to join the right town with active people and chat with your guild mates, friends. always make sure to friend strangers you see while you start the game. also this game has a master/student system where the master earns points to unlock various goods, the ui shows who you can choose, you can pm them to ask what they could offer for you. a little crafting help so you could change equips quickly etc.

http://luminary.valofe.com - it used to be published by ndoors a couple months ago, now its valofe

Latale is a 2d side scroller with pvp duels outside town, it has alot of things to craft, rare weapons need urns though you can combo in this game, to do this you press z or x for weak/strong attack and press skills there are four trees so you could combo them without having to fit in normal attacks, you need the normal attacks if you want to use skills from other trees but usually you focus one tree because not all of them are good skills. some have drawbacks or requires a different weapon. you can shovel, mine, fish. mining is required to upgrade your gear to the next level, this reduces your gears endurance so upgrading multiple times could lower the success rate. digging isn't required but some fashion items that are worth like 40 million ely (last time i sold mine it was worth that much, not sure about now but its still costly for sure) drop as a ? bag, you'll get alot more of junk digging but you can also get emoticon books from it as well. there are so many instances with bosses that give cute gear, of course there are normal field bosses like the Goblin king that gives urns. i prefer instances in the toad shrine, you face a harpie boss, she is quite challenging if you're not high enough.

Angels Online has 5 crafting classes to choose from: weaponsmith, armorsmith, tailor, mechanic and cook. Also every aspect needs to be leveled seperated from the others. Say, you collect stuff, then your collection skill goes up, if you cook, your cooking skill goes up, if you go fishing your fishing skill goes... you get the idea. I think when it comes to crafting this game is quite cool, even though the game itself might be hard to enjoy, the game has one of the best crafting.. oddly though people dislike games with good crafting because remaining content isn't as attractive i guess, one flaw about this game is you can only create one character per account.

Ragnarok online - this 2.5d mmorpg is an oldie, one of the few mmorpgs that have private servers and possibly "have more players in private servers, oh you could tell they are butthurt most of the time" it was loved by many due to castle siege ( guild vs guild content called woe - war of emperium - goal is to defend or destroy the crystal this is held weekly) it does have some crafting but you must be a blacksmith or a whitesmith, to vend items while afking you need a merchant. merchants class change into blacksmith/alchemist and they're allowed to vend items too. the crafting in this game isn't special its mostly for weapons with element damage. there are many classes available so feel free to play as any class

here is a wiki to help your journey - http://irowiki.org/wiki/Main_Page

Mabinogi - a fantasy life mmorpg, this 3d game have unique anime styled graphics. it has an endless list of unique features. Players can compose music, design clothes (crafting) , milk cows, get a part time job and much more. Characters also grow older as time goes by but can be rebirth every week or so for free i believe. they dont "look old" they do get taller, and its harder to play as a younger character because you start with low hp pool. they gain fat if you feed them too much, you must eat cherries and stuff to lose weight. back in the late year 2ks the game didn't give you premium cards in the beginning forcing you with horrible customization options, it was still fun back then but now they give you a premium card for your first character to make you dashing shiny beautiful sexy ultra mega extreme!!! there is so much progression in this game, leveling up isn't the only thing that matters. you perform an action of your choice to level like fishing, mining, crafting. there are many more skills in the game i haven't mentioned. the game has alot of titles to unlock and so many clothes available the customization is endless so the game have many fashionogis (mabi players that play the game for fashion, they have a large wardrobe!!) there are so much to do here, so i hope you try this game soon!

    http://mabinogi.nexon.net/

Soulsaver Online - a sidescroller that has 1:1 duels, faction wars to take over the castle or a pvp field to fight people non-stop unlike latale it might be a little upgrade reliant but you could choose who you want to fight if their weapon glows really red etc, you shouldn't even start the fight xD im sure you wont run into much red glow users anyway. this game is based on saving the world from the ghosts and demons, the lower level ghosts look pretty silly and as you level you witness some scary, cool looking demons.
    http://www.soulsaveronline.com/

old thread of mine, short info of what class uses this weapon etc.
    http://www.onrpg.com/boards/threads/208399-Soul-Saver-OBT!-(Ghost-online-2d-side-scroller)

the games above were downloading games, these are browsers that i enjoyed

Lunaria Story doesn't really have much customization but its very cute, has auto questing auto hunting. many girls play it

    http://ls.r2games.com/

Dragonpals, don't let the name fool you it's turnbased with decent graphics and you can unlock many dragons hurray!

    http://dragon.r2games.com/

Neosaurs - nothing like neopets, it sounds really silly but the game is rather nice for a browser game xD it may feel stupid at first though - you could see how strong it resembles maplestory but it picks off as you evolve your dinosaur lol

    http://www.neosaurs.com/

Wartunes - one of the best browser games until like lv.36 ( starts getting slow, maybe i was just too serious and then got bored of it ) pvp is pretty fun but its pretty much fighting an A.I unless there is like a battleground event going on where the goal is to kill the enemy and collect minerals (you move slower while dragging a cart)

    http://www.kongregate.com/games/R2Games/wartune

    Serenia Fantasy
    http://sf.koramgame.com/

To change the appearance of your character, players must buy outfits, which come in 7 day & 30 day. Each have the same bonuses for the most part, but different pricing; even among the 7 day group & the 30 day group. Items are given out weekly to keep players, and weekend events offer players rewards for adding tokens. They are broken into several tiers which reward according to the amount of tokens you add.

Hair can be modified through ingame items. Color & style are changeable but the required items must be found then crafted into the mod item. Weapons, armor, & other equips can be forged then modified depending upon crafting level. The more a character forges equips, the higher level they will eventually become. Equips can also be upgraded through cash shop items, to increase their attack and add other bonuses, as well dropped items from simple field monsters to overwhelming bosses.

Training can be done manually or be left on auto-pilot. During the course of play, the HP & MP bar will continually be refilled courtesy of having your excess HP / MP pool full (Life Sources & Magic Sources.) Players are given coupons during the first 60 levels or so to buy some coupon shop items, among which the Sources can be found.

For beginning players, there are TONS of quests to be completed, but eventually degenerate into a monotonous series of the same quests over & over unless leveling up becomes something daily.
Skills & talents can be added as the game progresses. Skills are gained killing monsters & using magipoint items to pay for those skills. Unfortunately, after Lv 3, those skills have to be paid for with magipoints AND skill gems, which get ridiculously expensive despite minor bonuses. Skills are broken into three trees per class & are paid for with talent points, obtained through quests & daily challenges. Level cap on talent is 105; each talent in the tree varying from master Lv 1 to master Lv 20.

PvP is available, but the system apparently uses ranking so itís not uncommon for low level players to be matched with someone insanely powerful in comparison. Overall a good game to relax with & play from time to time

the games i listed starting from lunaria story are all browser based.

just so you know that web based games still download stuff and by this it means they download content little by little in your temporary internet files, sometimes it could feel even slower than downloading the game client itself.. having to load things over and over again is annoying. none the less there are quite a few interesting browser mmos but most of them don't really have partying or real pvp.

http://blade.r2games.com/ blade hunter is a 2d beat em up side scroller game with combos, pretty exciting and different compared to the typical automated turnbased browser garbage out there, it could get a little tiring if you play for few hours or longer but none the less it's a good title.

are you okay with automatic combat games? i don't like it when its auto but these are games that are auto yet have dashing graphics.

Fairytail Online - yeah the chinese stole the japanese anime's idea, thats what they are good at, the graphics are pretty though.
    https://ft.o4games.com/

Pockie Kingdom - a game where you press a hero or a soldier and have them attack things while they progress through the map and in the end kill the enemy king/queen for the victory, not as automated as most games since you can atleast cast spells as a king/queen and also choose when to spawn your hero or soldier, if you don't spawn them right in example: if you didn't spawn a swordsmen soldier which offers you a nice defense and spawn a archer hero first, its likely for the enemy soldiers to kill your archers if they swarm the archer and lose you your match, it's pretty fun especially knowing that you can unlock more slots and different heroes!
    http://king.game321.com/

Pirate King Online - aka onepiece version of that fairytail game xD in other words it's another automatic combat however the graphics are also pretty stunning, eyecandy game i guess
    http://pirate.gamernizer.com

Here are the top three online card games that i found interesting.

Rise of Mythos is a card game with single campaigns, has a few strategies, pvp is alot of fun and there are party dungeons which is very challenging, i really love the character designs too. gameplay is pretty much wait till your card timer gets to 0 so you could put them on the field and have them reach the enemy player and drop them to 0 hp. there are also creatures that have vigilance which means they can attack behind them, you need them to defend against rush decks, also flying creatures fly over ground creatures (to counter this you need human wall card which you can't fly over "wierd logic but whatever")

    http://www.kongregate.com/games/GameFuse/rise-of-mythos

Heroes of the Realm - this one is kind of automated, you can still pretty much use your own combination to get higher attack rating and such, there is a few pvp content that is unlocked midgame and it gets fun as you understand how the game works at first i was upset at first when i saw the automated combat but the illustrations, upgrading buildings kept me playing long enough!
server 2 is better because its linked with kongregate or you can play from kongregate if you want, hotr in kongregate didnt work for me.

    http://hotr.ogplanet.com/en/main.og

Kingdoms CCG - this card game is like the usual card games where you fight with cards instead of summoning cute dolls xD once you summon a creature with your mana you need to wait a turn before you can attack with it, you can only attack them directly if there are no monsters blocking the lane though there are flying creatures that can attack through normal creatures to damage them directly, graphics
may not look appealing at first but once you understand how the gameplay works, it's worth it! i really like the queue system for pvp.

    http://www.kongregate.com/games/AnticEnt/kingdoms-ccg

in Heroes of the Realm, Kingdoms CCG, Rise of Mythos, you have an option to create multiple accounts to try getting better cards as it's luck based, i made like 8 accounts and half of them got rate cards the other half didn't even have.

other tcg games suck no offense :#

if you want more games http://www.kongregate.com/ has many available and all of them are web based, if you go to multiplayer you can find many online web games but most of them don't really have anything like party or a real pvp.

The games I mentioned (or at least the Fallout one) were designed for mid-range PCs back in the late 90's. You should be able to play that if it interest you.

You can try Eldevin which is basically a clone of Runescape. F2P, browser-based, lets you mix skills to make a "hybrid" class (in reality, you're just making a character that is mediocre in both magic and melee). Low population. But very damn near Runescape.
