As an artist, I would probably draw my wallpaper than to be a sheep.

As a digital artist, It is fine to support your favorite artists by having some of their wallpapers up. I use one of Justin Maller's Facets as my wallpaper even though I could easily create something very similar. It's kind-of like wearing a jersey with your team's colours.

Since you are a digital artist, do you use a graphic tablet for drawing? I am not much of a digital artist.. I find it kind of hard to draw on a computer as opposed to drawing on real paper.

I use my Surface Pro for drawing directly on my screen. It's really really awesome. There is an application that allows me to use it just like a Wacom tablet for my main rig.

Would you recommend a Wacom tablet or a surface pro for tablet drawing?

    Surface Pro Advantages:
Works by itself (Windows 8 Tablet) or as a cintiq style tablet
Can be had for $220 bucks refurb with warranty.

    Surface Pro Disadvantages:
    Only 1024 levels of pressure.
1080p on a 10" screen is pretty hard on the DPI scaling.

    Wacom Tablet Advantages:
Higher level of pressure (2048 or higher).
    Cheaper for the lower-end line.

    Wacom Tablet Disadvantages:
    No Screen/Cintiq (with screen) EXPENSIVE.
    Completely dependent on your computer.

Hmm thanks for the info. Completely dependent on my computer is sort of a turn off.

I don't know why so many pros use Wacom though. Windows surface seems to sound a lot better.
ON another note, Could I use my parent's ipad to draw? It is an iPad air.

How good is it for tablet art?

All graphic's tablets are going to be dependent on your PC because they're not computer tablets. Surface Pro is a actual computer that has a Wacom Digitizer. The Digitizer on the Surface Pro is no where near as good as the mid-range and more expensive Wacom drawing tablets. The Wacom drawing tablets should have less input lag (depending on your PC), more pressure (2048+) (pressure is the amount of line strains you can make from darkest to lightest), and a better sensor. It takes forever to get the Surface's pen sensor properly aligned but a Wacom Intuos works pretty well out of the box. Pro digital drawers swear by Wacom's higher end line-up because of the smoothness. I personally wish I had a Cintiq, but I can't be bothered to drop two thousand on one.

Now I've said some pretty horrible things about the surface that are off putting, but let's look at this from a better perspective. Surface aren't meant to replace the high-end graphic tablets. Surfaces are used, by artists, as a cheap alternative to the EXPENSIVE Cintiq. Even the 13" Cintiq is one thousand. Surface Pro is also a fully fledged computer and doesn't require being plugged into another machine. Can you draw 1024 lines of differentiating weight? I probably could draw close to it but I definitely wouldn't take full advantage over 2048. The Artists at Penny's Arcade use a Surface Pro for most of their newer drawings.

I wouldn't suggest using the iPad as a art tablet unless you don't care about pressure at all. Maybe basic drafting, but the iPad doesn't have a digitizer that can handle graphical pressure. You could probably look into Wacom's more expensive stylus that comes with batteries. I hear it fakes pressure, but if you're looking for cheaper alternatives I would turn elsewhere. Didn't I suggest you another graphic tablet in the past?
