The lv40+ instances need very strong team members to survive. Kinda needs the holy trinity, tank, nuke and healer. I love it.

Also the level cap is 89. Which takes months. Unlike some random mmo were you get it after a few days. lv40 also unlocks the meridian system. Which means you can spend your kung-fu points to get more stats and unlock special boons. Basicily this is the customization to build into tanker or damage role, or even evasion. This will make a huge difference...actually. So its not just your school.

They said Shaolin is tanker and has low damage. Well, I disagree! Refinement in this game is awesome. Since it cant fail. All it takes is to dissemble your old gear, or gear you find. You can even use upgrade stones. The difference is also huge. I basicly tripled the damage on my weapon.

I don't think getting to level 40 will change the crap combat mechanics and bland questing.

Actually it does. Since you get the lv40 skill set. Questing pretty much stops at lv40 also. You get longer skill combinations and more powerful combos. The combat for me is very smooth and the animation are fluid. Since you can speed dodge or jump out of the way. Especially important against instance bosses, that charge attacks. Or pressing X to block certain attack patterns is nice. Might also be because I have 16ms latency though.

Depends on what you mean. There are several skills that can be used while moving but the majority can't. Almost every skill is a dash, jump, and block cancel-able. Forced Move (press alt and a direction during a skill animation in exchange for stamina points) lets you immediately cancel the animation of any move. Lot of people use it from throw mixups.

This is what the game looks like when played by non-shitters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJTu325bsL0

I would like to have as much fun as you do. Unfortunately the combat has to be one of the worst I've ever tried and you trying to hype this game won't change that fact. It's a bad game. There's absolutely no immersion, you click on those quests and everything is basically done automatically. Where's the fun in that?

I cant wait to drop 20+ hours in this game to get to lvl 40 and really see what it's about, just so I can form an opinion of it!
Be careful of what you say, tomorrow or today, for the words you now speak, may become the poison your enemies later seek; truth.

This really is age of wushu all over again. The quests aren't what the game is about. They are just there to introduce ou to game mechanics and to tell a story.
If you're complaining about auto-path quests, then you haven't played long enough to speak about combat. Naturally it's going to seem simplistic if you don't have dodges, flight skills, blocking, et cetera or if you're fighting enemies that don't do enough damage to make you use utility skills.

Like, it's crazy seeing people claim that the combat forces you to stand still when standing still for a second or two is all it takes for a harmony or zephyr to take half your health. I'm not going to be the swordsman online defense force though so shit on it if you want.

I played quite a lot of PWE's games, I know what it is about. That's not the point, the combat is god awful. Clunky as ****, I just can't seem to enjoy it. I did get to 35, I got a general idea what the game is about. Not everything is bad but to me the most important thing is indeed the combat.

Fair enough, if you don't like the combat then you don't like the combat. I really want to understand why people have an issue with it though so that I don't feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Can you explain your issues with it without just calling it clunky and what school did you play. Your pvp impressions would be cool too

I found it unreactive to be honest and sorta slow, the animations were alright. Maybe im used to something else and that's why it was such a shock, probably im the one taking crazy pills, not you. I was playing splendor which it looked to me like a fast paced class. As for pvp I didn't engage into that too much, probably will give it another try.

Can anyone explain to me why Beatrix is just insulting us. Before every sentence, he states the same shit "We have low attention span so we hate the game". I don't even...

So you're saying not blowing 20 hours of our lifes on a game, we don't think we'll like makes us "idiots" or "MMO hoppers". I'm not even going to rant about you. So listen, if we don't like the game because of the "Action based combat" then shit that's on us. Learn to express your opinion w/o insulting others.

Anyways I can't find a reason to go to level 30. It's not like Age of wushu where I had fun aiming for my next goal nor is it like Wakfu where i just wanna do a boss or wear my next armor set. This game would be me trying to look for a reason to play...

Starting to think that maybe my view of the game might be different because I spent the vast majority of my time in the arena or in world pvp.

I wouldn't even call it ignorant or stupid to shit on this game at all. It's all a matter of opinion I mean it's kind of the same deal as people who still like games like Smite or Neverwinter which I absolutely hate myself. I mean if it's not something you like or find generic then that's your opinion. Not sure why the thread devolved into a shit flinging war on whose smart or dumb and whose right and wrong. Just play the game or don't, that simple.

The game is ok i dont see why people are moaning about combat being clunky i think its fair smooth there is other games out there that i feel the combat is awfull like RIFT for example, thats not my cup of tea just like Swordsman isnt some peoples cup of tea. The game deffinatly gets more fun the more you play and get higher level then when the pvp/pk starts well thats fun to me no matter what. Plus it runs on max graphics really smoothly and i have a latency of 16ms so its really playable.

That font hurts my beautiful eyes! And that generic quest tracker seems to be taken from a crappy Facebook game. Not touching this even if it was already downloaded on my computer.

The combat is so bad, it's really clunky & unresponsive. I wanted to like this game, I really did.. but it's so bad I didn't even make it past lvl 13.

no it is very different from vindictus - vindictus is a lot more fluid and crisp - one of the best combat systems imo

i really enjoy the game so far hahah, emei staff so fun when u get the claw form its epic..the normal attack for emei staff claw form hits all targets infront of u just like vindictus etc..
i think it goes to other school/class also depending on ur form..

for those ppl hating on auto quest system the chinese like to masterbot while playing game so this works out for them ahah..

the combat is clunky because u guys want to move around while hitting the target but this game dont allow that, u either dodge or take hits u cant really kite like gw2 wildstar etc.
u have to know when to use ur dodge otherwise once stamina run out ure fked..
