    Default Berserk

Is there nothing more like this? I must have watched both animu versions about 20 times now. I guess I could read the mango.

Need moar gory big sword wielding medieval animu!

    And boobs!
the future is bleak, uncertain, beautiful
tomorrow they might come and arrest us all
only if you listen closely can you hear the machines
    beneath the side walk whispering
the machines beneath the side walk are
    always whispering
    strive to listen close
    please, try to be free
    don't be afraid
the end of the world will never come

There's nothing like it man, I watched it years ago and nothings come close since. The only anime i enjoyed and sort of reminded of me of berserk was Claymore. I find it hard that you will be able to find a substitute for berserk

Edit: Read the berserk manga (even if u dont read manga in general) its better than the anime!!!

I heard the manga wasn't finished? That would be annoying.

True, however it goes far beyond what the anime left you with. Still a fair amount of reading.

Where the manga starts to pick up it gets very dark and twisted. Very anti religious as well. The view for Christianity is extremely twisted.

berserk, claymore and vagabond are my favorite manga, none of these 3 are finished though. the latter also has great quality and a great story. it follows a man who acts like a beast thinking only of himself and his own strength killing one after another, who slowly learns from his mistakes and grows into a fine gentle samurai with the help of a badass monk :P(yet the hatred of those who lost their beloved ones to his sword still remains and seek revenge), while his best friend who he grew up with remains a coward and a drunk and only gets himself and those around him into trouble. the way the story is told is beautiful and totally worth a read. its also based on the book Musashi but i believe takes its own turns here and there

    this.

when I first read the manga, I was literally gripping my seat from suspense and anxiety through some of the chapters.....such powerful emotions delivered through exquisite drawing style~ friggin epic shit right there.

nothing comes close to this epic story~ too bad the author is taking a hiatus or something (didn't have an update until like....2 months ago - last one b4 that was like in 2012 lol)

Like everyone else says, the closest thing to it in my opinion is Claymore, which is great in its own way. But when it comes to Berserk, it's a beast on its own level. I was not one to read manga but when I started to read the Berserk manga, it only got better and better and now I hate that I can't continue reading it forever! There is still much to read if you've only seen the anime and it will be more than worth it if you already enjoyed the series this far .
