Don't get a S3 it's even more flimsy then the S2. So dropping it one time will definitely break the screen.

Well, I have some friends that has a S3 and they dropped it a lot, apparently it's not that fragile. I just want to know the compatibility with my carrier (Videotron) but feel free to suggest me another smartphones too .

Get a Motorola Moto G instead. A lot more sturdier, no preinstalled bloatware and since Google owns Motorola, enjoy quick Android updates and easy rooting options. It's about as fast as an S3 as well.
The US version support the 1700MHz bandwidth so it should be compatible.

I loved my s2 enough I got an s4 and love it as well.
Used otterbox covers and never had any problems after dropping them and a few years of carrying in my pocket as a mechanic. I don't think they are overly fragile or I would have destroyed one or both of them by now.

My girlfriend and her mom broke their S3's screen on the same week just by dropping it once. But then again it was their fault for using a crappy cover. They have an S5 now but I find all of the samsung galaxy series very flimsy in general.

Get something newer and better: Nexus 5, HTC M8, Xperia Z2, Oppo Find 7, etc.
