Can't really decide which one to purchase to play since I'm having a holiday. Both look beautiful and popular. Any suggestions?

One has subscription, the other does not. GW2 is more PvP focused and the devs have their heads up their asses in terms of balance. FFXIV is PvE focused.
Do you want to grind instances 24/7 or do you want to.. idek, what do you do in GW2? Living story for life?
Both games kinda suck, honestly.
I have both games. I play FFXIV more then GW2 tho. Both are pretty easy to get into.
none of them, do the ff trial, i didn't like gw2 at all
Not played ff but Guild Wars 2 is ok I play it from time to time but hard to compare a sub based to a buy to play

FFXIV. I have played both to cap and have always came back to FFXIV. GW2 never has any "real" updates. They had that one in back in may or june when the megaserver was created. I don't consider living story an update because none of it is permanent. Give the new FFXIV trial a shot and check it out. It's a good game and like some have said, really easy to get in to. Yes, the end game is a lot of dungeon grinding, but most of those people repeat the same dungeon over and over only because that particular dungeon is quickest to finish. Mix it up, take your time, enjoy yourself. There is actually other things to do. Oh and FFXIV's updates are very frequent, very large, and permanent most of all. None of that temporary garbage GW2 does.
Thanks for the answers guys. Really appreciated it. I'll try FFXIV and decide whether I'll subscribe it or not
Im on Moogle, EU server . Im on alot if you got questions or want someone to play with.
GW2 is entertaining for me in short bursts, but XIV has held my attention for a long time.
