    Default Aion - Still a PVPer's game?

When Aion went F2P people were telling me the end game is all about PVP, and there are zones where you can't avoid PVP at all. Some even told me that to progress in PVE, you need to fly through PVP zones.

I don't know much about Aion, avoided it because of this. But the character and environments look gorgeous. Is this still a PVPer's game or can PVE people play without being shanked.

It's not so much being afraid of PVP but wanting to explore worlds and progress my character. Not race to the finish to kill people on battlegrounds. I'd play a MOBA if I wanted to do that.

moba's are so pointless it's just a roombased game with boring creep farming where you get only 4 skills that is SO skill based /sarcasm

rather play lost saga if I wanted to fight with just four skills, maybe it's just me but I like the pvp while I explore the world, it's boring to progress without experiencing any pvp content.

PVP for me just takes me out of the game if it's forced upon me.

I can't count how many times I've played games where I'm just minding my business with my husband and a few friends, and a random person gets a bug up their butt and slaughters us all. I know that's not the experience for all games out there with PVP enabled but man. I just want to relax and enjoy myself. There is some realism to it, the world you're adventuring won't always be safe and I totally get that.

MOBAs / PVP can be fun if it's fair. But not while I'm trying to collect flowers for crafting, for example.

MOBA's/Shooters are my PVP aswell. its how i get my fix for it. Sucks that the games i want to play the most, end up being terrible because the endgame is nothing but boring ass pvp, i care zero for that. Been playing wow here and there, atleast they have alot of raiding and stuff. They also are giving away all the xpansions for the upcoming one. so it would be a decent time for players to start up.
When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament it's "Monster Kill",
In Quake3 it's "Excellent", in Counter-Strike it's "Kicked by console"

You are safe from 1-55/60. 60 and above is when you hit that area where everyone is trying to get their pvp sets and farming kills...but that's just part of the game. You should be fine if you are in a group though. Nothing more intimidating than a bunch of red markers on your map xD

Aion was advertised as a faction based PvP game from the start. It will always retain that aspect because it's what the game was built on. If you want a game thats pure PvE with PvP being the side option then try FFXIV for example.

Does Aion still have a steady population?

I was thinking of starting it up as I never really got to the pvp aspect of the game and wanted to know if it was worth it or to look for a different pvp game. (just woke up so please excuse any errors in grammar or spelling )

You can pretty much ignore PVP now for most of the game, so if you just wanna do PVE, party up and enjoy the story, you can easily do that without any risk of PK. There is a server now that can be accessed by characters from all other servers where PVP is disabled and you can party up for instances.

Endgame is still about PVP, but the PVE portion of the game is so huge, you can play more than a year before really having done everything you can outside PVP areas.
