    Default FFXIV Community Shows Support for Dying Player

    Reddit Post here

    Pretty heart warming to see this.

    The reason he's dying (or perhaps died);
    For those asking - he's passing away far before his time (only 29 years old) of complications from renal failure. The odds were one in a million something like this could have happened; Everything was otherwise under control and a donor was lined up already (his brother).

    I believe he died yesterday. You missed it all, there was a stream showing tons of people showing their support, spelling out his name on the beach, etc.

    ! this only shows how strong a bond does gaming communities have ! we aren't strangers to each other ... we are friends who play the same game and just happen to never meet in real or even sometimes do Respect.

    This is really sad... And wonderful (the poetry).

    Very heart warming story, really awesome to see a community do something like that for a fellow player.

    I feel so bad for the guy.. I was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a month and a half ago, and I thought I had it bad.. Fast forward a month and a half and I have it under control pretty well now. I at one point thought what I had was the end of the world, but learned it was almost a godsend, since it opened my eyes to my health and my loved one's health.

    I see so many instances of people with terminal illnesses, or just ones that are not easy to control no matter how hard you try, and it just sucks that things like this happen to good people.

    Everyone has something that is unique about them. No one is perfect. Remember that, and also never forget to live your life fully, because it could be gone within the blink of an eye.
    Current Games:

    FFXIV - Behemoth (NA) - Keoru Nozaka
    The Crew (NEW) - Vinn202

    Waiting for:

    GTA 5 PC (Pre-Ordered)
    Everquest Next

    I'm pretty sure any decent guild would do something like this for their player, but overall FFXIV community has really impressed me, compared to other MMOs. There's something about the game that just makes people nicer - probably that the game is casual friendly/isn't overly competitive.

    Compared to most F2P mmo's communities, maybe, but its not that awesome, there's alot of elitism goin on and not caring about other in general.
