i've wasted a ton of money like this, i get a book on a language, and it cuts off before telling me very important pieces of code, and keywords and the like, and leaves me having to buy another one in order to keep going, but, then i notice, almost every friggin book uses a different language, i've tried i think 4 different ones, and each book does this to me. ^_^; i doubt i need to be learning 4 different languages to make a single game, as the codes wouldnt be compatable.
anyways, what would be extreemly helpful, would be if someone could tell me what language is the best one for this job, and what book wont leave me hanging after mastering the art of astroids
Well, it all depends. There's no real programming language which is better... but the fastest out there right now (well, not fastest, Assembler comes to mind as faster, but it's just not worth it to code a game in full assembler) is C(++). C# is gaining headway though, so you might want to look into that.
