    Gah, im sick and tired of all the korean mmorpg's not knowing how to translate for ***** i think i lost a few of my braincells when i was playing neosteam. Honestly, its an aspect that really angers me.

    /Rant over.

    But, seriously. Why dont they get a few human translators to translate it into proper english?

    more manhours translating->more wages to pay-> later date for ob/cb/whatever-> less cash-> less profit

    If im correct....Korean doesnt Translate exactly to perfect English. And yes in some games I wonder if they use Babelfish .

    If American companies had to translate games into Korean they'd probably be just as bad if not worse.

    It's just something you get used to I guess.

    They probably don't want to go through the trouble/cost of having a professional or out-of-house translation job. Therefore, they just stick with translation software and whatever people they have lying around.

    Though in many countries English is taught in school, it doesn't necessarily mean that the people are good at it. Combine this with the fact that asian languages are so different than English and you have a major pain-in-the-ass of a job.

    I worked for several months teaching English and translating documentation for a software company in Taiwan. Their press releases were hilarious. The only people who were going to read these things were foreigners anyway, so why bother to put effort into it?
