Hi!

Just wanted to drop by and give my regards to a great group of people. I'm hearing about you guys on a daily basis on our boards

Wow! Glad to see so many enthusiastic players venturing to Rubies after Opah's not-so-blunt post that we're open

Thanks Terrin for coming back after our brief haitus.. many of our players are returnees/refugees from p2p games that did not meet their expectations. Hopefully we can re-establish a class A mmorpg, this time with even more cooperation with our stellar community. It is our hope that this game gives you some refuge from rising p2p costs, noob bashers, and relentless griefers. If it ROE doesn't click with you, oh well.. at least we tried and you're not a penny poorer in the process!

And to clear up some rumors:
1. We are f2p.. so list us under free mmorpgs!
2. sign up page is under construction.. sorry for the wait. email scapegoat@optonline.net for an account (include what username and password you'd like) for the time being.
3. We're not run from a basement! Rubies is hosted from a modest air conditioned office with a small supporting server farm.
4. Marc "Huan" Howe (former president of Cyber Warrior Inc) is still the lead designer and new content is being added to his specs by a pro bono team of devs including Julia "cyr3n" Howe and Jeff "Scapegoat" Grubb (both from the original Rubies Dev Team .. cancun to lithtech).
5. Most of the original GMs are still active and involved in the community
6. onrpg.com is not a porn site.
7. gnomes are not food!

Thank you~ see you around
-cyr3n

2 things.... number 6. what would ever make anyone think were a pron site

and number 7. but gnomes are so tasty! specily nummy ones like Pookie and wooh.

I wish FlashGet speeded up my downloads! It didn't work for me, I splirt it into the max splits, but it just downloaded slower. I thought it would speed it up for free, everyone else says it does.. Lemme try Leechget.. T_T

(I am unfortunate)

Let's start by telling the truth. ROE is NOT truly free. If you don't pay the $50 or w/e they charge, you are limited by the caps they have on their servers. Last I heard up to say 300 F2P could log in once they are in (unless they log off fast) all other F2P personnel cannot log in. But if you pay, you aren't affected by that cap. $50 (again or w/e) they charge now isn't worth the game. It's NOT a 1 time payment either. You may keep the items you get for paying, but, if you decide not to pay again, you lose the ability to bypass the cap. The admins have different agendas. I have a friend who played, said they were told one thing on one server by admin and got punished for doing it on another server. He gave the name of the admin that told him it was allowed, and the admin banned him for arguing. He was told that he would be allowed to access his account if he emailed and apologized. Well, he emailed gave all the info, but didn't apologize. Got an email back saying that the admin that banned him was talked to, but he still had to apologize. Needless to say, he deleted all info from his comp about that game.

DeathWolf has given a plethora of misinformation, let me clarify:

The game is free to play, period. During peak hours, you MIGHT not be able to get onto a server if it is full unless you are a Patron or Gentry. The times when this happens is very rare, and as a matter of fact, we get almost no questions about it in the official forums. The game makes no profit and none of the developers or GMs get paid. All money received from donations pays for the server connection and maintenance and for new servers (Halberd was added a few months ago from donation money).

Patron accounts will bypass a full server and cost $5 a month. A pittance, less than dinner at McDonalds.

The $50 that DeathWolf was talking about was for a Gentry account, this will provide server bypass for one year plus 3 additional magic items and access to zones not available to anyone else for shopping and healing.

The rules on 2 of the 4 servers ARE different. Pegasus and Phoenix are considered open servers and the rules are very similar there to what other MMORPGs use. One Admin on one server probably did tell DeathWolf's "friend" that he could do something, then his buddy wandered onto Fire Opals and got in trouble for it. Then when the GM told him he was doing something wrong he copped an attitude and started to argue when in fact he should have just logged and read the rules for himself. I guess it is more satisfying to get in the GMs face and tell him off right? lmao Meh, now he knows the rules, the GM sent him to the page to read them, and life goes on, get over it.

Halberd is the PvP server, there is NO rule moderation there. Sounds like a good place for Wolf's friend.

Fire Opals is the Role Play server and it has very strict rules for Role Playing and channel use. The rules for this server are listed in the Rubies Official forums. http://www.cyberwar.com/forums/ubbthreads.php If a player is being disruptive on this server by not following the rules they will be asked to move to another server.

The Terms of Service for the game (basically a fancy name for the rules) are listed here http://www.cyberwar.com/manuals/roemanual.htm and all players who get into a scrape are directed here to help clarify any confusion.

So DeathWolfLegion, it seems that "THE" truth and YOUR truth are 2 different things, so let's keep that in mind before you start trying to make any official sounding announcements since you don't seem to have any idea what you are talking about icon_wink.gif

Oh yea, I am an employee so I think my info is legit.
