EverQuest Online Adventures has its own special place in the annals of MMO history. The MMORPG that defined a genre, Sony’s historic title paved the way for online multiplayer games for years to come. Fans were naturally excited when its long awaited sequel hit shelves in 2005, but EverQuest II has failed to generate the same level of interest and sales when compared to other games in its class. With the market for pay-to-play MMOs notoriously hard to stay profitable in, many games are switching to payment free models. EverQuest II Extended follows suit by offering adventurers a cost-free route into Norrath 2.0, but is it worth your time?
Beginning October 12 2010, EverQuest II players can login to find a new zone, tons of updates, in-game events with Game Update 58 Arcanum Revealed!
Sony Online Entertainment informed us that a new free adventure service is coming to players worldwide with the release of EverQuest II Extended, offering all of its content absolutely free.
Scheduled to launch on May 25, 2010, Sony Online Entertainment's hit title EverQuest® II brings an iconic new starting zone to the world of Norrath as part of the Halas Reborn game update with 20 levels of new content. Fans of the genre-defining hit EverQuest® will instantly recognize the original Halas zone, now rebuilt in Norrath on an island in the Frostfang Sea. In addition to the low-level new starting zone, the Halas Reborn update brings two new high-level challenging raids, new housing, prelude events for the upcoming expansion, themed Marketplace items, and more for players of all levels to enjoy. Players will also be introduced to the new Storyteller system which brings the robust lore of EverQuest II to the user through a simpler visual quest journal.
