DarkSpace becomes fully Free-to-Play
DarkSpace developer and administrator Drafell (Mr Black) announced that DarkSpace is now a fully Free-to-Play MMORPG:
As Development Lead for DarkSpace, I am writing to inform you that as of 12th March, 2010, DarkSpace became a fully free-to-play game. We are actively working on implementing a system similar to DDO in order to help support our running costs, yet unlike DDO, you will not be required to use credits gained through donating to access to unique content or dungeons. Pretty much everything that can be purchased through donation rewards will be purchasable ingame with a little bit of effort.
We are confident that our community is fully supportive of us in our efforts. DarkSpace has been running for over 9 years now and we have seen several revisions of the game, some good, some bad. With an expanding team of volunteer developers, we can only see more good times ahead.
Kindest Regards,
Drafell (Mr Black)

We at OnRPG.com love to see these developments, when a game’s development team participates in the contemporary shift to the latest statuses of Free-to-Play gaming – and also making it work! A successfully running game like DarkSpace might follow DDO’s example and have registrations skyrocketing!
