Caesary Online Impressions – MORE “MY LORDS”

REVIEW

Caesary Online is a browser based MMO strategy game set in a Roman-themed fantasy world. Here, players must expand their small towns, eventually creating an empire with an army fit for world domination. Once again, the innovative world of browser gaming came up with another well endowed female delicacy who will call you "My Lord" as you exercise your Lordship. Much like other browser based strategy games, players will go through a series of building and waiting. This mundane experience however will be much toleraterd since this browser game is well animated. This means that you'll see your workers constantly walking around your town, building and upgrading structures.

A First Impression of Batheo

REVIEW

Batheo is a flash based browser strategy game set in Ancient Greece, which is rather questionable as some of the heroes provided are not greek at all (Robin Hood in Greece?). Here, players must build cities, and train soldiers in order to decimate their opponents. Upon starting the game, players will be prompted to choose their champion/hero, each with their own army that will aid you in your quest to be the best. Batheo feels and plays a lot like Evony and other browser based strategy games, but don't think that it's nothing but another cheap clone. Batheo also has a couple of features that separate it from its browser based brethren.

League of Legends: Hail to the Prince, Baby!

REVIEW

Greetings fellow summoners! This is the patch v1.0.0.112 article for League of Legends, the game in which even the lowliest of minion can get a Rocky training montage. This patch includes some significant changes to the overall pacing of Summoner's Rift, some PvP.net reworks, and Jarvan IV, the Exemplar of Damacia.

Paths in RIFT’s Telara – Part 1

REVIEW

Have you played Rift yet? If you have, you may well be feeling the same thing I feel. I know not everyone will. We're all different gamers with different desires after all. Some of us will prefer different challenges.

Even so, I imagine a few of you are feeling what I feel. I'm in love.

Wakfu CB Impressions – Quick look into a Living Cartoon

REVIEW

After several years filled with delays, Ankama is finally ready to give the rest of the world a little taste of their latest foray into the world of Twelve with Wakfu. Wakfu is a MMO Tactical Roleplaying game that features a beautiful cartoon world that is shaped by the actions of every player. As a sequel to their already popular MMO Tactical RPG: Dofus, Both titles have become very popular (especially in France) with tons of apparel, toys and even a full blown animated series (which just started its 2nd season recently)! Although I played the original Dofus way back during its first open beta test and didn't think much of it, I managed to snag up a closed beta key for this one, so I gave the game try.

Black Prophecy – Any More Space For Another Space MMO?

REVIEW

During the GDC in San Francisco, we met with Gamigo's PR-manager Dennis Hartmann. Dennis gave us an exclusive first-look at the English version of this new title and from what we've seen in the 30 minute rundown, we can already say this game is VERY promising. With game mechanics similar to classics like Wing Commander (and more recently the Freelancer titles), Black Prophecy promises to deliver a vast explorative environment against a story driven backdrop.

First Look At Victory: Age Of Racing

REVIEW

The OnRPG team had the chance to get an early glimpse at GamersFirst’s Victory at GDC and we have to say that we were happily surprised by this upcoming Free to Play Racing MMO.

The competitive nature of the game is sure to appeal to racing enthusiast around the world and the unique three tier (Rookie, Semi Pro, Pro) system that increases the reality of the driving physics as you go up the ranks will make sure the game is easy to learn while still being just challenging enough to master!

Global Agenda: An MMO Shooter

REVIEW

Global Agenda is a buy to play MMOTPS (massively multiplayer online third person shooter) by Hi-Rez studios. Players have the choice between PvP with various modes or PvE that is either instanced or open world. The game uses a queue system to match you up with a team for everything except the open world PvE. You can queue up with friends to improve chances of success.

Learn a Spell or Two with Wizard101

REVIEW

Wizard101 is a browser-based game chockfull of magical surprises. First off, this game did not scrimp on presentation with its vivid introductory trailer upon clicking new wizard at the start. It tells the story of their wizarding world Spiral and the evil magic casters and his evil forces have started to use magic for bad deeds. Nothing original, but it helps that the plot is not the complicated since this game is intended for the young ones. What captured my interest further is the voice over since very few developers add this factor to browser-based games.

Champions of the World? – A Look at Champs Free to Play Side

REVIEW

Slap bang in the middle of Champions Online. Having never tried the game before, and with covering DC Universe Online for the last month or so, I figured it would be a good idea to try Champs for comparison. And since Cryptic and Atari went Free to Play with it last month, I figured now was as good a time as any.
