Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2’s ‘Massive Fleet’ Update Launches

What’s better than a fleet of starships? A massive fleet of starships, and that’s what’s coming with the Massive Fleet update to Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2.  Fleets roughly four times the previous size, plus Titan-class vessels on top of that. This new mode is a free update, and today’s’ video shows it off neatly. The points cap for fleets in single-player skirmishes and 1v1 battles for this mode were raised from 1200 to 4000, allowing for truly spectacular, star-spanning fleets of battleships. It also unlocks previously campaign-only ships, such as the Imperial Phalanx and the Tyranid Ancient One for use in this mode.

This is a fun-first addition, meaning a couple of things. Balance and matchmaking are still centered on the 1,200 point mode used for ranked play. This mode is likely to be less balanced, with a near infinite number of possibilities for fleets that are available to players. There are still viable strategies, but there is so much more that can be done in Massive Fleets mode.  Alongside AI games, friends can go against each other in 1-on-1 – we invite players to use their community Discord to find other admirals to challenge. The mode also requires a significantly powerful PC to maintain good performance in the most ludicrous scenarios.
