Outbuddies, by Headup, is available today on Steam and GOG today, featuring the popular Metroidvania-style of gameplay. Players will explore, with their robot sidekick Buddy, to dash, dodge, and blast through various 2D side-scrolling levels. While the dangers are great, so are the weapons that our heroes will be wielding in combat. Outbuddies will be available at 8 PM BST on Windows PC, with a 15% release discount.
In Outbuddies, players enter Bahlam, a sunken city of the Old Gods, located deep in the South Atlantic Ocean. Following a shipwreck, adventurer and maritime archaeologist Nikolay Bernstein regains consciousness 36,000 feet under the sea. He’s severely wounded and unwillingly connected to a supernatural Buddy-unit. It will feature a skill and mechanics-based progression system, and each of the game’s four upgradeable weapons systems will also double as an essential survival tool. If that weren’t enough, Outbuddies also has a local co-op option, so a second player can control the invincible “Buddy”. With this mode, the players will have to team up to solve puzzles and explore the world.
