The story of Secret Online is under the ancient oriental background, set in the territory of ancient China was split into several clans and kingdoms. It includes confrontations and cooperative relationships between different clans. Mohist stands for Peace loving and justice, the Shadow is famous for its assassin organization, etc.
Onrpg: How many classes are there, and what does each one do?
Now we have released 3 classes: Warrior: specialized in melee attack ability, high defense, high durability, but weak in speed. Assassin: backstab ability, middle ranged attack, and fast attack speed. Shaman: specialized in serve-magic, elemental-magic. Next to that we are developing 2 more new classes: Hunter, specialized in long-range attack and Wizard, specialized in attacking magic
Onrpg: What sorts of things can players do in the game?
Field Monster hunting: players can raise character level, get item, and get money, upgrade their skill. Quest: players can know more about the story, and affect the know, they can also learn new skills through quests. Chatting: players can communicate with others, make team, set up guild, and finally form a group of players to join one of the clans in the background story. Dungeon Exploring: players must first form a team, and explore the dungeon and beat the Boss. The team will get a certain award for clearing the dungeon. Collect rare equipments: high level rare item, especially equipments are very precious in game. Owners of these items will get a great achievability
Onrpg: Is there PvP (Player versus Player) in the game?
Secret Online has two kinds of ways for player to fight with each other, PVP and PK. In PVP one player apply to practice martial arts with another player, the result of PVP will not effect both player’s status. In PK players above lv20 can perform PK on other players by force. When one kills another player through PK, the victim lose all the life and mana points, and the killer gets a red name penalty.
Onrpg: What will higher level players be able to do? Are there raids or other difficult encounters requiring large amounts of players to attempt?
We have massive city siege event on every Saturday night, high level players will be separated into different clans and join the siege event
Onrpg: Will Secret Online be a subscription-based game, free to play with an item mall, or some other business model?
Secret Online adores free-to-play / pay-for-item model. Users can register accounts and download client, and play for free, or else users can pay to get premium service , for example double experience.
Onrpg: When will the beta testing start, and do you have a projected launch date for the game?
We have launched Open beta and free registration on 15th of May, 2007. And Item shop of Secret Online has been opened from 18th of June, 2007.
Onrpg: What makes Secret Online a game that players keep coming back to?
I think having friends in game is the most effective way of keeping players to come back to game. So we have been continuously making efforts to increase the change of communications between players in game.
Onrpg: When you play, what class do you normally choose?
According to our statistics of close beta,
40% of users choose to be warrior
30% of users choose to be assassin
30% of users choose to be shaman
Because warrior is the easiest class, when a player just started to play the game.
Onrpg: Are there any other games your company is working on?
Yes, we are developing our next game now, it will be a action style casual game.

Onrpg: What are the classes that will be available in Gods War, and what does each one do?
Yii Ting: You don’t need to choose a race in Gods war, but there are two categories of class which are warrior and mage, so the players will start with a warrior or a mage, but during the game players are able to choose some other class.
Onrpg: How are you explaining magic in the Gods War universe?
Yii Ting: In game, the player possesses skill and magic. The former is a passive ability, which affects the basic ability of player and owns rank attribute that can be upgraded along with the upgrade of skill proficiency. But the latter is an active one, which can be used to attack or spring certain things.
Onrpg: Can you share any of the mythological creatures we can look forward fighting against?
Yii Ting: Lots of well-known Greek mythological monsters exist in game, such as Medusa, Cerberus, Hydra, Cyclops, Centaur, Satyr and so on. Players can even challenge some gods. In game there are two hostile polises: Athens and Sparta. Players can join one of them and fight for it. The players who defeat opponents will not be punished but awarded. The game also bears Siege War. A mass of neutral cities can be taken up under the efforts of every player in polis. Besides, the game encourages the players of the same polis to take PVE.
Onrpg: Why was the decision made to use the cute style of animation instead of a realistic one?
Yii Ting: After all, Greek mythology exists in mythological world; no one knows what it is exactly like. We chose a fresh and lovely way to describe the world and tell the Greek mythology by narrating a fairy tale.
Onrpg: Raiding (usually 10-45 player encounters) has become such a focal point of MMORPGs lately. Will Gods war have raids, and if not how will the players who reach the level limit keep occupied?
Yii Ting: Gods War also have Raid and there are a large number of instances. Players have to team up to explore and fight in many instances, but small groups are encouraged, for large raid is difficult to organize and has limited individual pleasure.
Onrpg: Will there be PvP? If so, how will it be handled in game?
Yii Ting: PvP is an important part of Gods War in the form of PVP between Polis. Players of the same polis are not allowed PvP. What we expect is the high probability of PvP among players from different polises.
Onrpg: What is a Lead Designer’s job?
Yii Ting: Lead Designer who is the specific game designer always develops the basic framework of the game, tracks the design and leads the Designer Team to produce on the relevant resources. Designer is not a team to create ideas, but a team of production. They need to find an optimal design and produce a variety of resources, such as programming, making maps with editor, and so on.
Onrpg: How did you get your position?
Yii Ting: I have started my career in game producing field since my college and then I practiced and learned a lot from the projects like Age of stone, Elysium and UE Online. With these relevant knowledge and experience, I get the current position. So I believe it is very important for a game developer to accumulate necessary knowledge and experience in game field.
Onrpg: Do you have any advice for those who want to be the lead designer for a game company?
Yii Ting: On one hand, you should accumulate all kinds of information. A Lead Designer demands wealth of knowledge and relative game development technical. Therefore, it is necessary to accumulate knowledge of art and procedure development. The game designers should analyze the game, rather than play it, give objective evaluation on a detail and think about the advantages and disadvantages when making a set. In fact, a designer is to put forward a concept and transform it into an executable program, then evaluate and correct it constantly. The other hand, to become an excellent Designer, you should have strong communication ability which can help you to convey what you design to your partner. It is a good way to improve this ability by communicating with strangers actively.

GodsWar Online:Class System Preview

Fishing Champ Interview
Question: Ok, I am sure this is on everyone’s mind … why a fishing MMO?
We’ve always been intrigued with fishing, and have been planning to develop a fishing game for awhile now. We weren’t happy with the current single-player only fishing games on the market though, and decided to go with a new approach to the genre. We believe fishing to be a very social activity, and something didn’t feel right being out on the water all by yourself.
With the MMO aspects added to our fishing game, everything is simply more fun to do. Chatting with your friends, seeing what fish others are catching, trading items, participating in tournamentsâ¦it is hard to go back to your traditional fishing game after experiencing what Fishing Champ has to offer.
Question: Is there enough things to do in game to keep players entertained?
Once you have caught a fish, we give you a number of options on what you can do with it. If you simply want to empty out your net as quickly as possible and get back to fishing, selling your fish at the shop would probably be your best option.
If you want to spend a little more time, you can also cook the fish that you catch. There is a wide variety of dishes that you can create, from fish bones to valuable stat enhancing meals.
We also have an Aquarium that you can place any fish that you don’t have the heart to sell or fry-up. It is fully upgradeable as well, and there are 5 camera angles so you can always keep an eye on what your fish are doing.
Asides from that, there are tournaments, challenging quests, and hundreds of items that you can customize your character with. We will constantly be adding new content as well, so players will never run out of things to do!
Question: What makes this game fun to play?
It really depends on what kind of gamer you are. The hardcore players will have lots of fun figuring out which baits to use, the best fishing spots, and trying to catch the nasty boss fishes. The more casual player will enjoy the extra’s we’ve added to the game such as the Aquarium.
Personally, I like to play dress-up with the hundreds of unique items the game offers. Some of the items can completely change the look of your character, I like to change it up as often as possible. And no, I am not a girl.
Question: How does the game resemble other MMOs?
To start off, the leveling system is very similar to what you would see in your traditional MMO. Once you’ve earned enough experience to level up, your HP and stats increase so you are able to catch bigger fish. Sounds familiar, huh?
There is also a ton of clothing and equipment available for you to upgrade your character. These items can either be purchased at the in-game store, or can âdropâ from fish that you’ve caught. Each item is character specific, so many of the items that you get won’t be usable by your character. This encourages a lot of trading between players, and helps to create an economy like you would find in other MMOs.
And what would an MMO be without quests? We have a lot, and will continue to add even more as the game moves forward!
Question: How do the various stats affect a player’s abilities?
There are 5 main stats that directly affect your character’s abilities. They are:
Equipment Capacity: Affects the size of fish that you are able to catch. You won’t be able to catch the big ones until you get this stat to a decent level.
Strength: Increases damage done to fish.
Luck: Increases critical hit %. It also has a small affect on the time it takes for a fish to bite.
Focus Power: Increases your critical hit damage.
Focus Rate: This is basically the % of your Focus Power that is actually applied on a critical hit. For example, if your Focus Power is 10 and your Focus Rate is 200%, your actual Focus Power is 20.
Question: Is there crafting in Fishing Champ?
There is no crafting in the game, we wanted to concentrate more on the fishing side of things. Anything is a possibility for the future though, it all depends on what the players want.
Question: Will this game be free to play with an item mall, or will there be a monthly fee?
Like all GamesCampus games, Fishing Champ will be free to play with an option to purchases goods from the Item Mall. Purchasing items is completely optional, you can still enjoy all Fishing Champ has to offer without paying a dime.
Question: What is your favorite way to play?
I like to take my time and enjoy the game. Most of my play sessions are spent chatting and managing my Aquarium. I also like to experiment a lot, changing baits and locations to see what I can catch.
When I’m feeling competitive, I put on my game-face and play in tournaments. I usually lose, but they’re a lot of fun!
