Dungeon Fighter Online going to North America
Nexon America Inc announced today that it will roll-out the highly anticipated title Dungeon Fighter Online in 2009. Dungeon Fighter Online was released as Dungeon & Fighter in Asia and developed by Neople, which is a studio owned by Nexon. This new title delivers the classic side-scrolling action of an arcade fighting game with an immersive role-playing experience – all online and free-to-play.
Dungeon Fighter Online transports players into the mystical realm of Arad where dangerous dungeons abound. Gamers battle monsters as an individual explorer or team up to journey through exclusive multiplayer dungeons. Like other Nexon titles, the games controls are easy to learn and can be tailored to personal preferences.
Players can choose from five distinct character classes-Fighter, Gunner, Mage, Priest and Swordsman – each featuring a unique set of abilities and powerful attack combinations. Each class further specializes into four sub-classes, which opens up further skills and customization.
Dungeon Fighter Online also allows players to challenge each other in a player-versus-player arena where players can sharpen the ability to customize their fighter for endless matchups with other warriors. Whether designing the appearance of a character or engineering how it attacks, Dungeon Fighter Online players can also further personalize their characters, by selecting a wide variety of armor, clothing, pets, skills and weapons available through an in-game items shop.
L.A.W, a stylish action MMORPG for adults!
Our friends at Gamezig.com are reporting the following news:
– CEO Jang Wook Lee, former member of Blizzard USA, challenges the market with L.A.W, MMORPG for adults!
– A well-known movie director from the Star Wars participates in designing concepts for L.A.W!
– L.A.W (Living After War), MMORPG for adults on life in 2350 after a nuclear war!
CEO Jang Wook Lee, who was the lead artist for Diablo 2′ at Blizzard Entertainment USA, released a stylish action MMORPG for adults on life in 2340 after a nuclear war.
Online game developer Nitrogen announced that they have completed the alpha test for L.A.W (Living After War), the MMORPG currently in the development process.
L.A.W. has two tribes: humans and mutant Niks. Each tribe has three occupations: warrior that boasts high attack and defense skills and techniques to handle blades, axes, and batons; assassin that specializes in hidden combats using daggers, archery, and long-distance attacks; and esper that can use elemental energy to destroy a certain area, summon combat robots, heal colleagues, and control enemies.
The biggest characteristic of L.A.W. is that CEO Lee, who designed Diablo, and a famous director who has worked on many hit movies, including the Star Wars have jointly worked on the conceptual design to use their imaginations to design very unique future scenes.
Inside the game, players can enjoy combats using flying objects, vehicles, and defensive towers to plunder and attack the other tribe and to defend themselves; hundreds of dungeons, boss monsters, and hunting with parties and guilds; and a new resource stock market system where they can trade futures and engage in spot trading. In particular, the game offers a strong Action Skill Rage System that enables combats with higher levels and a betting system where individuals or groups can place bets through PvP.
CEO Lee of Nitrogen says, “L.A.W. is the real game that is developed for adults, shows a fusion view of the future based on the Earth and the world culture, and invites any adult gamer from all around the world.”
L.A.W. BACKGROUND Story
In 2350, the Earth has undergone a nuclear war, diastrophism, and 200 years of ice age. The humans that had fled to the outer space in a spaceship wake up from freeze-sleep and return to the Earth to found a state called “Delka” to rebuild the human civilization. They find that Niks, the mutants that have been created by radioactivity, destroy the authenticity of mankind, and keep them isolated.
However, Niks realize their dignity with the emergence of Leader Babitus and escape from humans for freedom and survival. Then, they found a state in the jungle and enter the era of conflict and war against humans over Power Stone, which are the essential materials for survival.

Galaxy Online: Intro to the Science Tree
Battles have broken out across Galaxy Online. It is difficult not to notice some players are leading powerful and destructive fleets to seize the limited resources in the galaxy. Have you ever wondered how to have a rapid industry development, or to obtain the elaborate warship blueprint? The key answer is the Science Tree. Through this guide, you will learn how to distribute your science points to optimum.
Science Tree consists of 3 branches: Personal, Faction and Corps Science. According to personal interest, players can choose to raise any of them using science points.
There is plenty of choice when it comes to Personal Science. If the development is hindered by the slow resource yields, you should improve your Astrogeology and Industrial Theory first. In fact, it is always recommended to increase planet productive efficiency before you start anything else. Next important thing is to colonize as more planets as possible. Investing science points on the Colonial Science can lift up the upper limit for planets a player can occupy. The development of Personal Science also determines the levels of hulls and modules are available to the player. Even after a warship has been fully designed and built, thousands of warship facilities await to be studied. They will be extremely vital to modify a warships attack power, defense and other stats for individual or unique missions and goals.
Faction Science directly affects the whole factions development. By developing Faction Science, the factions resources yield bonus can be raised and higher-level hulls will be available to the faction members. To build a real strong faction, members must continuously contribute to their Faction Science.
In contrast to Personal and Faction Science, Corps Science attracts players with more benefits. For example, a few exclusive hulls can only be activated for corps members. Remember you are not alone in the universe, corps are the most active and reliable organization. Your effort on the Corps Science will earn you power and knowledge when fighting against enemies.
How to improve Science Points?
The rate of Science points yield is determined by the number and levels of the players completed Science Institutes. In addition, the construction of one Planetary Comsat will provide more Science points within the whole galaxy. A little reminder for players switching on the Entrust Building, youd better level up Planetary Comsat by hand as it requires large amount of resources, hence it wont be selected by system to update automatically.
Angels Online: Guide for Grabbing a Top Suit
Along with the release of the higher level underwater instances, players in Angels Online now also have the chance to obtain more drops, including a level 85 suit which may be gained by defeating the fierce BOSSes. A level 85 top suit possesses super attributes as well as cool look. Today, the Angels Online team are happy to make a brief introduction about how to grab a level 85 top suit for yourself.
First, players should defeat the BOSS in the Horrible Lost Region after which they will have the chance to obtain an Energy Source. But beware, this doesnt mean that players will have 100% chance of getting it. They need to adventure several times to collect enough Energy Sources.
When fighting sometimes players should team up with others to defeat the BOSS together. And although the BOSS here may be more powerful than those in other instances, it is not so difficult for players to complete the quest if they carry enough potions and can work in perfect cooperation with their teammates. The error of the past is the wisdom of the future. Players can get everything they want but only if they work smart and hard!
Production players have it easier as to fulfill their dreams they dont need to deal with all of the fierce BOSSes to progress in the game. The Horrible Lost Region is an area that is full of a myriad of mines and herbs which, naturally, attract a lot of players. As long as Production Players keep collecting materials they will also have the chance to obtain a Blue Crystal. However, it isnt all so easy for these players and they should take extra care when collecting materials here. The fierce underwater monsters are deadly.
After players have collected enough Energy Sources and Blue Crystals, they can go to the Sunken Ruins and Make an exchange them for the corresponding suits with the appointed NPCs. Each suit is simply outstanding with its super attributes.
World of Kung Fu Review: Enter Ancient China
By Rick Charbs (Jammart), Onrpg writer
World of Kung Fu is a free-to-play MMORPG with an oriental style. Published November 2007 by VestGame Entertainment, this title has been a phenomenal hit considering its genre. This was only planned, as it is even more popular in its foreign counterparts (namely the one based in China). It was also known to have gone through an extensive closed beta phase, entering open beta in February 2008.
Based on Kung Fu and the Wulin society of Ancient China, this MMORPG is loaded with extensive historical references and interesting educational elements (believe it or not!)and not that boring educational type, I mean actual interesting information on the ancient Chinese culture. The story line is very wide-spread, but it still offers a somewhat linear advancement, and I personally found it quite appealing.
General Gameplay
This game is easily described as your average MMORPG. However, one must look past their generic gameplay and see into the extensive work put into the storyline and historical accuracy. Many elements of Chinese mythology are also incorporated into the game. In WOKF (World of Kung Fu), any quest, item, NPC, map, and even some skills are all related to the setting of this MMORPG. It takes a lot of attention to make sure to keep everything within context. There are various classes (chosen by the type of weapon you decide to master in), from fan users, to archers, to the unique hook users. Along with this wide array of unique classes comes a really interesting skill system involving forms of Kung Fubut Ill let you discover that on your own.
An extensive interactive bond between players and game masters is also on of the many reputable aspects of the game. A portion of VestGames staff is dedicated towards running events and some game masters are constantly in-game for your practicality. Some events are completely interactive with players involving a GM developed mini-storyline and a quick quest for you to complete and return to the said GM (which are quite rewarding, might I add). To quote their staff: It is our goal to bring the Middle Kingdom of the World of Kung Fu to life!
With that in mind, it is always expected by the loyal players of the game to receive constant updates and additions to the game (currently, the game updates once per week), some of which are affected by their suggestions, and for the game masters to be around often for entertainment and for a little help!
Avoiding describing the gameplay with much precision, Ill try to explain it in simple terms. With a very simple combat system, and with a challenging levelling system, the game can get a little boring after a while. However, the controls are really great and most characters can use area-of-effect skills to damage many enemiesand I mean manyin a very short period of time, thus allowing you to level at a quicker pace. Without these area-of-affect skills, I found the combat to be extremely dull, although I enjoyed following the quests even though they were linear and somewhat uncreative.
Graphics and Sound
One of the wow factors of World of Kung Fu Online is their great deal of attention to the background music, the sounds and effect, as well as the graphics and visual detail of the game. Now, you may jump to the conclusion that the graphics are not as amazing as they make them sound, but you have to remember this game is FREE. Besides, on maximum settings they are really, really, really pretty! The character models are very proportionate and very well done overall, and the environments are relaxing and dashing with color.
In the sound department, I was also quite impressed. Not taking the chance to turn on my own music even once, I was overjoyed of the background music. It was very appeasing, and it immersed me further into the game and into the Chinese culture the game holds. The sound effects were far past my expectations, and so they remained unmated for me as well. All in all, I really enjoyed the visual and audio aspects of World of Kung Fu. I would not imagine you would be disappointed of them in this gamethat is, if you have a decent machine to run the game in normal to high capacities (which should not be too much trouble these days; even my mediocre computer could opt these settings).
Personal Recommendation
World of Kung Fu was a real surprise to me. At first, when I was about to begin playing, I told myself it was probably just going to be another generic Chinese culture-themed game like the rest, and it was quite the opposite of my expectations. I really enjoyed this game in most respects, and I will most definitely be playing it again. I loved the controls, the very small learning curve, the interactive and story line driven quests, the fun staff, the great graphics and background music, and the extensive classes and skills. I had a lot of fun training, though I would suggest you play with a friend or find someone to party up with as the training might seem difficult alone.
What I disliked about the game was the slight lack of customisation, the obnoxious spamming bots you can find sometimes in town, and the linear gameplay/combat. If you can see past these things, or compromise with them, this game would suit your taste quite well. I humbly suggest you give it a try without labelling it as your average oriental MMORPG as I did. It was a big mistake! Happy gaming!
Pros
– Graphics and sound are both excellent considering this is a free game
– Compelling storyline
– Interactive quests
– Great staff and in-game GM team
– Constant updates
– Many character classes
Cons
– Training may get grindy too fast
– Spam bots are sometimes found in towns
– There is little customisation
– Linear combat
