EVE Online: Apocrypha Features List
Reykjavik, Iceland February, 26th, 2009 ? CCP, one of the world’s leading independent game developers, today announced the full features list for EVE Online: Apocrypha, the tenth free expansion for EVE Online subscribers, which is due out on March 10th, coinciding with the availability of EVE in retail outlets across North America, Europe and Pan Asia. Pilots will be able to scan down and enter massive, chaotic wormholes that have opened into unexplored solar systems. There, untold opportunities await behind the powerful defensive curtain of an ancient, deadly race. When defeated and pillaged, their ships and fortifications become the basis of the next level of technology back on the "safer" side of the wormholes.
EVE’s Senior Producer Torfi Frans Olafsson on Apocrypha: "Just like the human body is said to regenerate itself every seven years, EVE Online continues to grow and evolve in its sixth year of operation, with systems being added, refined, refactored and polished with every expansion we make. As the player base continually grows, we are able to increase the development team and bring in more engineers, designers and artists for each expansion. This allows us to deliver such a broad range of features catering to a variety of playstyles in a volume that we can be proud of."
"It’s both comforting and disturbing to come home after work, log in to EVE late in the evening and find the same developers that spend their long day building EVE, playing it and enjoying it deep into the night. We are a company that truly sips its own champagne, likes it and strives to make it more tasty whenever we can."
The improvements for Apocrypha include:
* Explore and dominate more than 2,400 solar systems that exist on the other side of unstable wormholes opening up throughout New Eden. New scanning mechanics allow you to find and explore them in the first truly uncharted space in EVE.
* Wormholes aren’t the only thing to discover. Booster sites, archeological digs, hacking sites, gas clouds and salvaging sites are some of the surprises in store for those pilots skilled in scanning exploration.
* The Sleepers, a new NPC race, protect an ancient technology within the wormhole-space. They exhibit intelligence unlike any enemy yet found in new Eden, requiring pilots to react to their deadly, shifting tactics.
* Tech 3 strategic cruisers are the first ship class to arise from reverse engineered technology gleaned from wormhole space fueling their production. Their modular nature allows for a broad level of customization of both ship appearance and performance.
* The New Player Experience has been rebuilt from the ground up with improved tutorials and an easier introduction to possible "career" paths. Rookie starship pilots will find it smoother than ever to become a force to be reckoned with in the limitless world of New Eden.
* The introduction of Epic Mission Arcs, huge branching mission sagas, are designed to give new pilots a tour across many regions of space and bring them out the other end, battle-hardened and knowledgeable about the EVE universe.
* Hundreds of visual aspects in the game have been renovated, including almost every effect in game. All new assets make up the massive wormhole spaces, such as new NPC structures and gorgeous nebulas. Space just keeps looking better with age.
* With further performance increases, optimizations and graphics upgrades, we bid farewell to our Classic Graphics Client as players across all platforms begin to enjoy the beauty of Premium Lite.
* Mac owners rejoice! EVE will now be available to you in all of its Premium graphics glory.
* Character attributes can now be rearranged in order to diversify or specialize skill training with Attribute Remapping, perfect for a veteran who needs to switch focus or a new player who’s just discovered a different niche.
* Players can now schedule automatic training of multiple skills with an original skill queue planning interface designed for maximum efficiency.
* A redesigned Ship Fitting Panel screen allows for more information when kitting out your ship. The ability to export both ship fittings and overview settings means that you can share your best configurations with your friends or you can quickly re-fit a replacement ship to head back into battle.
* The Audio Engine allows more flexibility for our sound designers, meaning a complete revamp of a lot of audio effects including warping, jumpgates and cloaking. Brand new sounds will also grace Apocrypha’s new visual effects.
* Our efforts to bring EVE closer to everyone’s home continue with the localized Russian client coming out of beta testing to full support.

Black Moon Chronicles Review: MMO Comic Style
By Vincent Haoson, Onrpg writer
Black Moon Chronicles, is an MMO that is based from a comic strip titled, Chroniques de la Lune Noire. The game also had a single player RTS made for the PC.
The story
The games basic plot is that your character is a survivor of the most tragic event in the history of the Kingdom of Lhynn, which is named The Night of the Screaming Tears. A massacre of the people of the kingdom ensued and you were part of the children that survived the attack.
You are part of those children who survived the event. Depending on which job class you belong to, the basic premise is that you have finally grown of age and the story starts on the first quest you receive as you spawn into the game.
Gameplay
In Black Moon Chronicles, you get to choose from four different factions who are: The Empire, The Justice, The Light and the Blackmoon. Each job class you see in the game is automatically part of one faction, therefore if you want to get a job class that is part of a certain faction, you are then forced to choose from the factions stable of jobs.
The list of available job classes and which faction they belong, in Black Moon Chronicles are as follows: The Warriors and Sorcerers belong to the Empire, the Phalanx and the Archer belong to the Justice, the Paladin and the Priest belong to the Light while the Black Guard, Ghoul, Orc Barbarian, Dark Priest, Necromant and the Menthat belong to the Black Moon.
For customization, the game only allows you to change the skin color. Hair style and Hair color of your character. Furthermore, theres also a personal slogan that you can use for your character.
The game is your typical dungeon run story driven MMO. What you do in the game is complete the set of tasks that are given as quests by the NPCs. The quests are important to you because this would be your story that you would need to follow through. Unlike in most MMOs where you can skip the quests and just level grind.
The game is highly dependent on the quests and the story your character follows. There is no clear information regarding the games PVP system meaning that it is in fact story driven.
Conclusion
If you are into story-based MMOs, Black Moon Chronicles, The Winds of War is a game that can tickle your fancy. Each character class in Black Moon Chronicles has its own story and as you begin your quest in this game you are immediately thrust into the world of your character. The quests you will be given circles around your part in the whole storyline of the game.
Right of the bat, Black Moon Chronicles is not a visually stunning game, though you might appreciate its graphic novel design and feel. The game can be compared to Diablo in this regard with Black Moon Chronicles being more of the comic-bookish side of gloomy.
If the developers hope to make your game experience feel more out of this world, Black Moon Chronicles delivers. The game is like an interactive graphic novel with you as the main hero. The colors, the texture, the feel, makes your experience feel like its taken out of something you may have read on comic books.
The thing is, the only thing unique in Black Moon Chronicles is the Storytelling element it has. The gameplay is generic and theres nothing particularly neither unique nor new in the characters skills. The job classes are taken from the usual bunch of jobs you can see in most MMOs, save the Necromants and the Menthats which is the games necromancers and psychics.
One of my biggest issues with the game though is that there are still a lot of things that need to be fixed system wise. For example, when I pressed the quit game button, I wasnt able to connect back into the game and I was directed to reinstall the game because the system cant find a config.
The other thing that I find highly irritating is the character creation and management in Black Moon Chronicles. As much as possible you dont make an important game system such as character creation and management tedious for your gamer. However managing your character and creating a new one in the game is more laborious than the character management and creation in most MMOs.
For players who are used to creating their characters upon logging into the game would be surprised with this system. Though it is true there is some merit with logging into the website to create and manage your character, like, if you dont need to minimize the game if you are busy with the stat allocation especially if you are following a guide or something else. However, the problem with this kind of system is that what If the game site is down or that something is wrong with the site and at that time you want to create a new character? Then you sir, are in a pinch.
Unfortunately that happened to me, I wanted to create a Menthat but there was something wrong with the code in the character creation page, therefore I opted to just stick with my Paladin because Ive been trying to finally create my character to no avail.
If you have practically nothing else to do and if you are highly interested on an MMO based from earlier RPG games, then you can try out Black Moon Chronicles. The game still has a lot of things that need to be fixed before it can go head-to-head with other MMOs.
Pros
– The game feels like you are inside a graphic novel
– Unique storyline for each job class
– Rich story
Cons
– The game still has lots of bugs
– The dark atmosphere can kill the game experience
– The quests can be vague

Three Kingdoms MMO to be launched soon
Uforia, Inc., a new online game publisher specializing in massively multiplayer online games, today announced that they will publish Three Kingdoms: The Battle Begins, a new MMO based on one of the most famous Asian novels of all-time.
“The opportunity to bring Three Kingdoms to North American gamers is something we are very proud of,” said JK Kim, CEO of Uforia. “This story is one of history and vying for power and for the first time it is truly coming to life from the pages of the famous novel to an interactive online experience.”
Developed by G-rex Soft, Three Kingdoms: The Battle Begins tells the story of the fateful last reign of the Han dynasty (206 B.C.-A.D. 220), when the Chinese empire was divided into three warring kingdoms.
This decisive period in Chinese history became a subject of intense and continuing interest to historians, poets, and dramatists. Three Kingdoms: The Battle Begins tells this story and offers players a chance to choose from 4 exciting and unique character classes to help battle through 200 fantastic levels filled with boss monsters and their relentless minions. As players experience the world of Three Kingdoms: The Battle Begins they can rewrite world history by carefully planning and executing political assassinations.

This unique feature allows the player to continue their travels while having the benefit of receiving items from completing quests. Player vs. Player (PVP) battlegrounds are available on the hour every hour 24/7 which allow the winners of the battle to become Lords who are granted access to exclusive skills and items. Honor points are awarded during these battles and can be used to purchase unique items and equipment from special merchants.
This game will also feature a Player Kill (PK) system with the unique “Death Note” feature. This feature was created so that if a player is killed by the same opponent numerous times, then that opponent is added to the player’s death note. The opponent’s location will be indicated on the player’s map as a blinking signal thus allowing the player to exact revenge more easily.
