Rapist met girl through WoW

Post-gazette.com is reporting the following news:

An Ohio man yesterday surrendered to Pennsylvania State Police to face charges that he had sex with a 14-year-old Bedford County girl he met on the Internet.

Daniel Joseph Czelusniak, 23, of North Royalton, was arraigned yesterday by District Judge Tonya M. Osman in Schellsburg on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor.

Mr. Czelusniak is being held in the Bedford County Jail on $125,000 bail, pending a preliminary hearing Feb. 18.

State police said Mr. Czelusniak and the girl made first contact about four years ago on the Internet while playing the cyber game, “World of Warcraft.”

At the time, the girl claimed to have been 14 already.
Last March, the suspect traveled to Bedford County to meet her. He learned she actually was 14, but the two proceeded two months later to have a physical relationship, police said.

The two met several times at a motel and at the girl’s home.

The relationship ended last September after the girl’s mother discovered it, police said.

Luminary Review: Game Systems That Actually Work

By Vincent Haoson, Onrpg writer

NDoors, the company that brought the smash hit F2P MMO, Atlantica Online, brings to the MMO scene a new MMO that brings politics, economics and role playing into an MMO.

Living in a new world

Luminary: Rise of the Goonzu, is an 2.5D MMO. Its story centers around the civilization that is thriving after humanity’s excessive reliance on technology destroyed the balance of the world. Your part in the story of Luminary is that you will be taking part in the daily running and goings of the world of Luminary.

You get to choose from four default characters in Luminary. Out of the four choices you can choose between two male and two female characters. For the male characters, you can either be the ex-bandit Fabian or the revenge-hungry Calix. Meanwhile, the female character’s choices consist of Raina, the childhood friend of Fabian or the free-spirited Ariel. Luminary doesn’t have any customization features. Your in-game character does look like the character picture though what you get is the smaller and cuter version of the character.

The game doesn’t really have a clear-cut final objective like most f2ps. The game’s basic premise is that you are living in a new world and trying your best to live well and survive. However, this may seem a little vague especially for an MMORPG of this kind. Yet, this works well with the game system that Luminary has.

Systems that actually work

For an F2P game, Luminary has a lot of systematic elements that actually work, or at least, offer a different experience.

First up would be economic system the game has. Luminary online has an in-game stock market system where you can invest on stocks of the different cities in-game. The stock market system is somewhat similar to the real-life stock market where stock holders get a portion of the earnings the city has through the taxes the lord of the city has imposed on it. The stock market system provides you with an alternative way of earning in-game money and also influence.

Another system unique to Luminary: Rise of the Goonzu is its political system. Luminary allows you to become the server’s “ruler” or in this case, the Goonzu. Of course, not everyone can become a ruler for a server, so as a way to establish order. The game system requires you to be able to pass certain requirements to be able to become a candidate. Earning the title Goonzu gives the players a lot of perks, like assigning those who will be your ministers and the like.

Besides the economic and the political in-game system, Luminary also has a very intricate character development system. Yes, the choice for avatars may be limited to only four, but the way your character is built varies depending on your preferred style of gameplay.

Luminary allows you to allocate points on your stats, but the game also gives you an option on what weapons you are more inclined on. Furthermore, Luminary enables you to craft your own items. You can make your own weapons, armor and other usable items as long as you have the necessary ingredients and if you already have the skill to make that said item. You don’t have to worry much about getting information regarding those ingredients you need because the game provides you every data regarding about the item.

Speaking of ingredients, the game requires you to eat, especially if your character is hungry. Besides the usual HP recovery items that you need to gather, you also have to buy or make your own food so that your character is full. Failure to do so may in fact cause problems for your character. The problems include getting sick, or even slowly losing your HP if you let your character starve.

The crafting/cooking element of Luminary is also coupled with a mini-game. The mini-game prior to the actual crafting material affects the grade and the chance of success your crafting/cooking will be.

Luminary’s other feature that needs attention is the mentor system. True, the mentor system is neither new nor innovative for other MMOs have those kinds of systems that works. The difference in Luminary’s system is that the mentor system automatically shows itself when you log in. You can choose to PM those who are officially considered as mentors or if you are lucky they could be online and ready to be there to help you in getting familiar with the game.

Conclusion

Luminary: Rise of the Goonzu, is not by far a very revolutionary game. Whatever features the game has, other games have used. However, Luminary has successfully integrated all those elements and created a world where there is a working political and economic system. This is rarely seen in any F2P MMOs and the game has in fact fine-tuned it enough to be effective and newbie friendly.

Even with a game that has no clear objective story-wise, Luminary has a lot of things to offer that you can spend your time on. If you tire of the usual level grinding you can choose to play around with the in-game stock market, and maybe land on a stock investment that gives you a huge payout. Or you can enhance your artisan skills and try to be a better craftsman and sell your stuff in the market. Or you can go into in-game politics and vie to be the next Goonzu of the server.

There are a lot of things you can do in the game that sometimes it can be overwhelming for those players who are not used to this kind of MMOs. Another thing is the graphics and the type of game Luminary is. The game sprites remind me of another MMO Trickster online. Both games have in fact the same type of genre, though it is only in the looks and gameplay that the two MMOs have in common, Luminary takes the more “simulation” type of approach with the system’s almost real-world semblance.

Besides the looks and the kid-like feel of the game, the other thing that can be considered as a con in Luminary is the mini-game when you are crafting or cooking. Yes the mini-game does help a lot when you are trying to successfully create a hard to obtain equipment or food, but the mini-game can be such a waste of time when you are just creating a lowly item. This is evident when you are doing the Crafting quest for the first time. I never got the heads up that the mini-game is in fact part of the crafting process so I just played it out, not till I got the crafted item that I finally understood what the mini-game was for.

Luminary: Rise of the Goonzu may not be a visually stunning F2P MMO, the game does deliver an addicting gaming experience especially if you are into politics, economics or just plain lounging around.

Pros
– There’s always something to do in-game
– The game has a working political and economical system
– Everything you need is already available through the game info tab

Cons
– The Graphic is cute and kid-like
– The crafting mini-game can really be a bother
– The amount of information the game provides can be daunting especially for newbies

Myth War II Online: Armor of Dream Introduction #2

Nobody can resist the temptation of owning classy gear like the Armor of Dreams, but may people still don’t know much about them. This week, Myth War II Online team is introducing four more pieces of gear .

Ordain Warden: Lelouch
These boots were originally made by Rhadamanthus, the greatest blacksmith in Myth War history. He used Dragon Blood to smelt the metal and named the boots after his son Lelouch. They were passed down as a family heirloom to every leader of the Order of the Crown in Blython. Anyone who wears Lelouch will be immune to stunning magic, chaos magic and hypnotization because of the unknown and powerful force of the dragon’s blood. The boots are sometimes known as Ordain Warden.
Gear up: Attack +4000 and gains of 25 resistance to stun, chaos and hypnotize.

Necklace:
Fiery Heart: Perrot
One of three undead bane weapons, this necklace was once worn by the Dragon Clan Elder, Maslow. The prowess of the seven Nature’s Elements, Wind, Earth, Water, Fire, Darkness, Light and Thunder have been instilled into the metal, and Perrot and Maslow’s spirit guard it. The necklace is capable of overpowering all attacks with Nature’s Elements. As the Dragon Clan declined, Perrot was taken by the surviving dragons to the Icy Wilderness to wait for someone to revitalize it. Are you the one chosen by fate to take possession of Perrot?
Gear up: 30% increase in drain resistance.

Asura Charm: Jaar
This necklace was another of the three undead bane weapons and was once worn by Darkness God, Morgion. It is permeated with the smell of death and is cursed to lead people toward a gloomy fate. Anyone who wears Jaar is immune to the black magic of Death, Poison and Frailty. In the first God’s War, the necklace was destroyed by the Flame God, Cirion with his Sword of Fire. It remains a puzzle who helped bring this necklace back to its original shape using five soul stones. But everyone now knows that this latest incarnation is more powerful than the original!
Gear up: increases death resistance, poison resistance and frailty resistance by 75 points.

Draconic Necklace: Satan
The final member of the three undead bane weapons, this necklace was worn by Hades Tucker. Hades Tucker killed Satan, the rebel of Dragon Clan and took the blood inside his heart to create this necklace made out of gems from his underground kingdom. This necklace can help to increase its wearer’s max HP and was destroyed in the first God’s War, later restored by the God of Forging.

Gear up: increase the max HP by 24000

2029 Online: Four Distinguishing Features

2029 Online a skill based epic Sci-fi MMORPG that was 3 years in the making. The game designers spent that time crafting a simple idea into a challenging gaming masterpiece. Being the first of anything is pretty historic, but since the day this game was released it’s been taking the fight right to the competition. Two titles for being the first sci-fi MMORPG classic and becoming a leader in many MMO feature categories is only the beginning.

– First MMORPG with a good amount of 3 Corridors, RTS and RPG elements thrown into the mix.
– First MMO game launched with a Fighting Vehicle DIY and auto leveling system.
– Quick and versatile location design
– Filled with tightly plotted instanced dungeons
– A powerful mercenary system and a unique guild system

Any one of these would make a game good, but put them all together and you have a game that will keep you captivated for hours at a time.

RTS (Real-time Strategy)
As a sci-fi based RTS MMO game, 2029 Online is a real war simulation. This game is set to take RTS war games to a new level with a painstakingly created, awe-inspiring cinematic game environment. Some of the cool features include information access, base building and combat tactical maneuvering. You should build your heroes, destroy your opponents’ armies, then roll over their cities and take them with no mercy. Can you be ruthless enough to prevail, or will you end up as another victim in the battle for supremacy?

AFV DIY system
In 2029 Online, you are encouraged to increase your movement speed via an AFV (Armored Fighting Vehicle). However, as you move through the game and are engaged in more vigorous warfare, you will need to upgrade your AFV. By making little changes on your vehicles and arming them to the teeth with weapons, armor and a powerful driving force device, your vehicle will certainly attract a lot of the wrong kind of attention, but that’s half the fun isn’t it? These fighting vehicles can even be upgraded and refined into whatever specific vehicle suits your needs; talk about customization!

3C
In 2029 Online, military tactics, diplomatic tricks and strategic cooperation are essential aspects of play. You must have a clear awareness of the enemies’ position(s) and the structures under their control to secure certain areas of the map. You and your armies are pitting your combat strategies and knowledge against your enemies’ fortifications and defensive cunning. The quick feel and quality of the RTS helps this RPG game stand out amid the glut of war games available now.

Brand New Guild Construction Concept
Guilds become much stronger simply by recruiting more guild members. This sounds easy, but it can be very difficult. Each time a guild moves up to a new level, they are going to attract more players join them. The irony being that the more members you need, the less likely new members are to join. Being a Sci-fi RPG, guild members in 2029 Online are dedicated to the development of cutting-edge technology which is used to make lethal weapons and build sophisticated defensive systems. They strive for invulnerability by polishing their attacking and defensive skills as well as stressing the value of a team spirit. Once you are in a guild, the interaction with members helps build a bond between players. This brotherhood will be the rock you need when you have your back to the wall and need someone to back you up.

Exclusive private spaces can be created where you can fight with your friends or slash enemies in heated solo head to head combat. Conflicts and war are evitable. In 2029 Online, the most spectacular battles await you on the battlefields of tomorrow.

World of Kung Fu

The Valentine’s Day is close. VestGame, the operator of MMORPG World of Kung Fu, has made Feb. 10th to Feb. 17th, a wonderful time for players to get “married” with their beloved one in the game.

In World of Kung Fu, a game invites martial arts and Chinese romance to make players deeply involved in the development of his in game character, players can get extra experience if they fight against monsters together with their spouse.

During the week when Valentine’s Day falls, players can invite GM to be a host of their wedding ceremony and decorate their wedding. The couples will get bless from GMs and players all over the game world. Furthermore, items relating with the marriage system will be much cheaper in the Item Mall.

7Million trailer

In 7Million players take the role of a clever gentleman thief executing spectacular heists. 7Million has no violence and combat to speak of, nor thousands of skills, tables and repetitive monsters. Instead it is all about the player, not some abstract character class. Enjoy the video!

RF Online Review: Great PvP and Community

by Rick Charbs, Onrpg writer

RF Online was a highly popular game until it was shut-down permanently by its former host company. Now, RF has a completely new publisher, CCR INC, who is determined more than ever to bring you the best RF Online experience yet. The re-release of this game was a joyous event for many old players of the game, but I had had no prior experience in it myself.

Therefore, I joined without any certain expectations as to how the game was going to be, and to my surprise there were a great deal of players online. This review will explain my short-lived experience in the game, as well as my raw opinion of it.

General Gameplay

I am going to be very honest in stating that Rising Force Online (RF Online) has an extremely generic PvE aspect to the game. This game is all about PvP, and that is an understatement. With PvE being my preferred style of gaming in an MMORPG, this was not to my liking. There are three races, all fighting against one another, in a pretty large game world. One has a good amount of classes and weapons to choose from as well, making customization a little more possible (though you will see clones of your character once in a while). You also have many quests to complete in order to level up a little quicker and gain some rewards (as the game is a little on the grindy side), that quite conveniently turn in themselves once completed. An avid gamer would quickly notice that there is not much to learn until you reach the PvP aspect of the game, a much more extensively developed system… or should I say systems? If you are very competitive, this is a great way to show your expertise in the game, but the combat style is not very skill based. As far as I noticed, it was whoever who had played longest that had the advantage over the other. Once again, this was not something that kept me very interested, but it justified the game, as it is pretty old. To get to the more unique parts of the game, there are Chip Wars, which consist in race vs. race combat (usually extremely large scale), an extensive mining system, establishment territories (regions of the game owned by one or two guilds at once), an elaborate economy system (in which there are different tax rates for every race, as well as different currencies), Circle Zone Scrumble (PK system within a race), battle dungeons, and much more. Despite having overseen and overused systems and gameplay modes, RF Online still draws in the fans with its unique setting, context, and player versus player.

Graphics and Sound

Without being too impressive, the graphics in this MMO are pretty decent to say the least. Rarely do I play a 3D MMO without lag, and that was the case with RFO. I was smooth-sailing throughout the vast territories of the Bellato during my time in-game. I cannot say much wrong about the graphics, even if they were not very up to date. If you can get past the fact that they will not be next-gen, I think you will be satisfied. However, recolors and similar maps may be of annoyance to you. In the same order of things, in the sound department, I do not have much to add. The various sounds and music pieces were not bad, yet they were not great. Most of the time, I replaced the game’s sound with my own music, but the sound effects were not too obnoxious to keep on during a PvP battle, as was the background music. If you plan on grinding for over an hour however, I suggest you part with any sound until you are finished.

Personal Recommendation

As some of you may already know, I am no fan of PvP combat. My competitive spirit is next to nothing, and so fighting others to be the greatest has absolutely no value to me. On the other hand, a race vs. race battle can be pretty fun- which is something RF Online indefinitely accomplishes pretty nicely. Another thing I had noticed was the fact there were not many new players to RF in game, but rather players who were dedicated to the past versions of the game. This surely explains why the server is so populated whilst the game is not anything too amazing. Many players of the game are sentimentally attached, or simply loyal to the game. I am not saying the game is boring, only that you really have to enjoy PvP to want to play any longer than fifteen minutes. You have to be very dedicated and concentrated on your goal to be able to be worthy in combat. That means you may waste many hours of your day grinding away, which can be unhealthy for your physical and social status, and that is something I wanted to stay far clear from. For a more casual gamer that wants to play RF Online, be sure to team up with your friends as team levelling is much faster than solo levelling for most characters, if not every. I enjoyed some aspects of the game, such as the storyline, the unique context, the races, the race vs. race battles, and the fact I could play the game smoothly. I did not particularly enjoy the lame PvE combat, and the extensive grind needed to level. If you can see past those two faults, or they are not considered a fault on your end, then be sure to try out RF Online, as you will be hooked! Happy Gaming!

Pros
– Large community
– Great PvP combat as well as RvR
– Unique setting and context

Cons
– Few new players to the title
– Generic PvE combat
