Myth Angels Interview: Yearning for Spring … and Hades?!
Myth Angels Interview: Yearning for Spring … and Hades?!
Questions By Chen Fo Po (cinderboy), OnRPG journalist
Answered By Mao – Mascot of Myth Angel Online
Myth Angels Online, developed by USERJOY Technology, is the latest title in the Angels Online series of MMORPGs. Taking what is best from the previous titles and adding in more unique features, Myth Angels Online has proven to be a hit with gamers since Open Beta started in October 2010. USERJOY Technology will be revealing the latest expansion to the game ny mid-December 2010, currently named as “Yearning for Spring to Come”. What new exciting features will the expansion bring to the game’s lively group of players? Let’s find out.
OnRPG: Hello, I am Fo Po (cinderboy), journalist from OnRPG. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi Fo Po. I’m Mao. I’m the mascot of Myth Angels Online.
I’m here to share with OnRPG readers the information about how is it going with Myth Angels Online now and in the near future.
OnRPG: Can you please give a short introduction to use about your company, USERJOY Technology?
USERJOY Technology is a free-to-play developer and publisher since 1995, and has developed many quality titles, such as Angels Online, Kingdom Heroes Online, and Legendary Champions Online. So far it has spread happiness to North America, Europe, Russia, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. USERJOY has also co-developed with Q Entertainment the technology of porting PC MMO games over PlaySation 3 platform. USERJOY is committed to its mission to provide quality online game service across platforms and bring joys to the local gamers around the world.
OnRPG: Would you care explaining the inspiration behind the expansion’s rather subtle name, “Yearning for Spring to Come”?
Sure. The new expansion is actually specially prepared for the winter vacation.
To correspond with the winter time, our new expansion “Yearning for Spring to Come” is describing a period of time when Dark Winter has descended to the world, and all the creatures are anticipating the symbol of hope, Spring, to arrive.
We have added many new contents, such as releasing new skills and new instances, into MAO, and hope gamers will enjoy and have fun during their winter vacation. 🙂
OnRPG: The Angels series of MMORPG has always revolved around Greek mythology as its background story. Can you briefly tell us about the expansion’s storyline and how will it affect the overall lore?
Sure. The expansion “Yearning for Spring to Come” is describing the period of time when Hades, who controls life and death, has taken Demeter’s daughter, Persephone, and drags her into the lowest region of the world. With the absence of Persephone, Demeter is too sad to cultivate. The Land becomes barren, climate changes, and storms raid people’s home. The whole world was covering by deep darkness, and the real WINTER has descended. All the creatures are yearning for spring to come when Demeter can ever meet Persephone again.
So Zeus calls our brave fighters in front of him in hopes that gamers could obtain the amethystine dragon sword sealed in a gigantic lava rock to break the dark force and bring Persephone back.
OnRPG: I have seen several players speculating about having a new server, Cerebus, in the forums. Can you confirm this news and why the need for a new server to accompany the expansion?
We confirm the news that a new server-CERBERUS is going to launch together with the new expansion. J
From the launch of Myth Angels Online since this October, due to gamers’ support, we have a good run in our first server CHIMERA. With the new expansion launched, we believe there will be more new gamers joining up. We would like to provide a more comfortable environment for them to enjoy the game.
OnRPG: A new main city, Dark Palace, will also be released as part of the new content. What and where exactly is this place located in the world map?
Dark Palace is the Palace of Hades. Unlike the other cities located in the land of Gaia, Dark Palace is located at the other side of world, the land of Tartaros.

OnRPG: What are some of the new things players can find in Dark Palace?
Dark Palace contains 3 portals to the extended new instances.
The color and atmosphere of Dark Palace is darker and creepier. In the extended instances gamers will get to see hungry ghosts and skeletons. 🙂
OnRPG: Another new feature will be the Mastery Skills System. How does this new system works and will it have any impact on the current skill system?
Mastery Skills are classified as special skills which can be deemed as the most powerful skills in MAO. Mastery Skills have great influence in the battles and even have the power to reverse the trend. In this new expansion we are going to open the 1st stage Mastery Skills which contains 3 types, “Active”, “Passive”, and “General.”
Due to its power, it would be considered difficult to obtain such skills during the play. However gamers will have chance to get Mastery Skills while opening the lucky bags from the item mall. Taking the odds would also be a chance for gamers who want to be the first group to try the new Mastery Skills.
OnRPG: The level cap has been raised significantly from level 60 to 80. Is it safe to say that much of the new content will be catered for only the higher level players?
Yes. In this expansion, we have opened 4th main city, Dark Palace which contains 3 portals (Lv.40~60, Lv.60~70, Lv.70~80) to the extended instances. Each portal has 4 instances and one special stage, for a total of 15 instances. Each instance is carefully designed for gamers to challenge and have fun; meanwhile, we provide plenty loots, rewards, and exp.
Besides, we’ve opened Star Temple for high level gamers to challenge where they can fight against ultimate bosses to obtain rare treasures. We also provide PvP events, such as Red-Blue Competition and Siege War. We’ve tried our best to make sure gamers always have something to do in MAO. ;-p
OnRPG: Along with the level raise, new equipments are no doubt available too. Can you tell us what are some of the powerful equipements players can expect and perhaps show our readers some screenshots of them?
Basically there are 2 ways for gamers to obtain equipments besides taking the chance by opening the lucky bag from the item mall.
In General Maps: [General, Advanced, Perfect] Lv. 65, Lv.70, Lv.75, Lv.80
In Battlefield: [Advanced, Perfect] Lv. 20, Lv.40, Lv.60
OnRPG: Are there any new mounts released in the expansion? If there are, can we have teaser screenshots of them too?
Yes, we have released a few more mounts in this expansion. Hope gamers will enjoy them!

OnRPG: Is there any new content which was not mentioned?
Basically you got them all covered. We got new server-CERBERUS, 4th main city, Dark Palace, Mastery Skills system, Level cap rising to Lv.80, new gears and mounts. But of course, please do not forget our new events for the celebration of the launch of new server & content, and the merry season, such as 100,000 angel coin giveaway!
OnRPG: When, will be the expansion exactly be released?
On December 14th.
OnRPG: There has been much debate in the forums over the possibility of adding the “bot” system found in the previous Angels MMORPGs into Myth Angels Online. Any comments on this issue?
As you might have known, we are the developer of Myth Angels Online as well. We take gamers’ feedback into consideration as much as possible. For the auto-play system you’ve referred, it is designed for the “convenience” purpose for gamers. However, even when gamers are using the auto-play system, it doesn’t mean that they can leave the game there, like using “bot” system. Gamers still have to look in to the auto-play system, and try to figure out the details and what setting of the auto-play system may be most suitable for them. Currently we haven’t had plan to add the auto-play system yet, but we will take gamers’ feedback into consideration and keep observe the situation in MAO to make further decision.
OnRPG: What are some of the events players can look forward to upon the new server’s and content’s release?
Yes!! We have prepared many excited events for both new coming gamers and faithful gamers.
To celebrate the open of CERBERUS, we have 3 main events, 100,000 Angel Gold Giveaway, Guild Rewards, and Beginner’s Gift Box Giveaway. We have provided many practical rewards for new gamers join up in the new server-CERBERUS.
And of course we are not forgetting our faith gamers in CHIMERA. To celebrate our new expansion, also Christmas and New Year, starting from Dec. 15, gamers can receive Christmas backpack, an item to maximum backpack loading from the NPC. There is more, by collecting some special items and exchanging with NPC, gamers will also have chance to get Christmas Gift Box of Christmassy accessories for 7days or special mount [Santa’s Bear] (exclusive in Myth Angels Online )for 15 days.
Previews of our some Christmassy accessories:

OnRPG: Any teasers of what players can expect in the near future for Myth Angels Online?
Yearning for Spring to Come is our first expansion. We plan to release new expansion every quarter, so gamers can look forward to more new systems in the future. For example, pet system, in the future we will launch more interesting functions. Gamers can explore more about the potential of their pets to make them even much stronger! Besides, regarding the marriage system, class upgrade…etc, they are also something gamers can anticipate in the near future of MAO.
OnRPG: Thank you for your time! I am sure the community will be very eagerly looking forward to the expansion!
Thanks, Fo Po! We look forward to meet everyone online in Myth Angels Online soon!
Where did that come from? (League of Legends)
Where did that come from? (League of Legends)
By Jason (Hhean) Harper, OnRPG Journalist
Some games include easter eggs, where a developer, likely out of boredom, includes a little pop culture reference, community in-joke or internet meme into a game. Normally these are out of the way, fun little things that add a little spice to the game world.
League of Legends isn’t those games.
League of Legends is so full of references, winks, nods and shenanigans that break the fourth wall so hard and so fast that it might as well have been built in front of a rampaging kool-aid man. This article barely touches on these various shout outs, covering only about a tenth or less of the veritable mountain of these wall breakers. The ones that have made the cut are a few that everyone who plays the game regularly knows, a few that are a bit obscure, and a couple that are in just because they’re interesting.

Cho’Gath’s Gentleman skin features many references in his changed voice set.
“Let us fight like gentlemen!” is what the gentlemanly Dudley says before a spot of fisticuffs in Street Fighter.
“What what…what?!” was a common utterance of the Tenth Doctor of the long-running series Doctor Who, who would quite often emit such a turn of phrase.
“I’ll bite your legs off!” is a rather ungentlemanly phrase spouted by a hooligan wearing black armour after being defeated and dismembered by King Arthur in Monty Python’s Quest for the Holy Grail. Gutter Trash!
“It’s funny isn’t it? How your best friend can just blow up like that” is a direct quote from the sketch “Mrs. Niggerbaiter Explodes” from Monty Python’s Flying Circus. One believes that Cho’Gath must be quite the avid viewer of televised comedy groups.
“I like a man who grins when he fights!” are words spoken by Winston Churchill that this gentleman seems to be most fond of.
“One can survive everything, nowadays, except death,” is another quote, this one from 19th century author and poet, Oscar Wilde. Good sir is a most learned individual.

Corki is one foul mouthed little Yordle, constantly spewing out vulgarities under the guise of aviation slang.
Blackshoe: A derogatory term for non-flying personnel, as World War II aviators traditionally wore brown shoes.
Bogey: An unidentified, potentially hostile aircraft.
Charlie Foxtrot: Phonetic for ‘CF’, meaning Cluster F-… Gently Caress, a term used to describe a situation which has turned into a complete disaster.
Delta Sierra: Phonetic for ‘DS’, meaning Dumb S-… Poo Poo , an insult towards someone who completely screws up.
Lima Oscar Lima: Phonetic for ‘LOL,’ an abbreviation for”Laugh Out Loud” or “League of Legends”.
Nugget: An aviator on his first tour, a rookie or newbie.
Sortie: A military mission or attack by a single plane.
Speed of Heat: Very, very fast.
Spooled Up: Excited. Spooling up is also the act of bringing an aircraft’s engines to idling RPMs to prepare for takeoff.
Up To Snuff: To be up to an acceptable level of quality.
Whiskey Delta: Phonetic for ‘WD’, meaning Weak Dick, an insult aimed at an aviator who caves under pressure.
Manfred von Richthofen, otherwise known as the Red Baron was a famous German World War I pilot. Corki is clearly a fan of his, as he keeps a replica of his plane for use on the fields of justice.
The daring bombardier is also evidently a fan of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, as he references ‘ground control to Major Tom’ in one of his movement quotes.

Mr. Mundoverse win prize in Mr. Universe body building competition. Mundo too strong for you!
Hulk Mundo is Toxic Mundo!
Corporate Mundo popular. Many people want corporate Mundo on forums. Idea come from Krunk from Justice Friends wearing business outfit.
Corporate Mundo like to quote many office shows, like asking for TPS reports from movie Office Space.
Mundo smash like a boss! Mundo learn this from song “Like A Boss” by The Lonely Island.

Garen sometimes likes to dress as the Immortal Emperor’s loyal servants, the Blood Angels Space Marines from Warhammer 40K. While doing so, he calls himself ‘Sanguine Garen’. In the grim darkness of the far future there is onl- DEMACIA!
Garen’s Desert Trooper skin is a reference to Duncan Idaho, the bladesmaster of House Atreides in the Dune franchise.

Heimerdinger’s name is a combination of the names of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a physicist known for being the “father” of the atomic bomb, and Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger who was one of the fathers of quantum physics. Remember that Heimerdinger is in a state of being possibly dead or not dead until you choose to summon him.
Alien Invader Heimerdinger has been spending his time amongst the Martians from the movie Mars Attacks!

The art for Lux’s ‘Sorceress’ skin is a reference to the cartoon intro for the TV series ‘Bewitched‘.
“I love it when a plan comes together” is a direst quote the signiture catch phase of the A Team’s Colonel Hannibal Smith.
“Shhh! I’m charging my laser…” is a more grammatically correct way of saying “Imma chargin’ mah Lazer“, an internet meme using an image of Imperfect Cell from Dragon Ball Z.
Lux’s joke “Double Rainbow? What does it mean?…” and its follow up “Well, a ‘double rainbow’ is a phenomenon of optics that displays a spectrum of light due to the sun shining on droplets of moisture in the atmosphere. Does that explain it?” is a reference to the ‘Double Rainbow’ YouTube video.

Mordekaiser’s Pentakill skill is pretty metal, but even the default Mordekaiser cannot stop the metal. Every one of Mordekaiser’s abilities are a reference to a heavy metal song:
Both Iron Man and Children of the Grave are songs by Black Sabbath.
A ghost under the control of Mordekaiser has a buff applied to them called “The Prisoner“, an Iron Maiden song.
Mace of Spades refers to the song Ace of Spades, by Motörhead.
Siphon of Destruction refers to the song Symphony of Destruction, by Megadeth.
Creeping Death is a song by Metallica.

The pose in Olaf’s art and his /dance is a direct reference to the Technoviking.
The Glacial skin stems from the description of jötunn from Norse mythology.
Olaf’s quote “urge to kill rising” is a reference to one of Homer Simpson’s more famous
lines, from the Treehouse of Horror V episode of the Simpsons TV series.
Brolaf’s weapons are inspired by those wielded by the Beerbarian. His quotes all relate to a sub-type of american frat boys known as ‘bros‘. This is another skin that got added due to frequent request from the community.

Pantheon is 300. nearly all of his voice work references the comic/film in some way or another, his backstory is heavily inspired by the Spartans of ancient Greece. His original backstory page simply read “THIS IS SPARTA!!!!”.
Pantheon’s Ruthless skin gives him the power to look very similar to He-Man from the cartoon series and toy line of the same name.
Pantheon’s Perseus skin is a reference to Perseus from Greek mythology, who slew Medusa as part of his many adventures. Most depictions of him wear significantly less armour than the skin.

Shen’s Yellow Jacket skin resembles Scorpion and Frozen skin resembles Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat franchise. Some marketing on the European forums used “Get over here!” as part of a notice to let people know the skins had come on sale.
“If light travels so fast, how come it’s never caught a ninja?” is a direct reference to the Ask A Ninja web series.
“You’re already dead, you just haven’t caught up yet” is an extended version of Kenshiro’s catchphrase from the Fist of the North Star.

Taric’s truly, truly, truly outrageous joke is a reference to the intro of the 80’s cartoon, “Jem“.
Taric’s Armour of the Fifth Age is a reference to the World of Warcraft Tier 5 Paladin Armour. Someone photoshopped the pink-tinged suit, including such things as the leg warmers, a furry purse, and pink sun-glasses.

Urgot’s Butcher skin is a reference to Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and Pudge, the Butcher from DotA-Allstars.
Â
His Giant Enemy Crabgot skin is a reference to the Giant Enemy Crab meme that stems from a ‘Genji: Days of the Blade’ presentation.
Professor Stanwick Pididly’s quote at the end of Urgot’s background information is a quote from The Six Million Dollar Man.
These are just a few of the many things crammed around the game. From the running gags relating to Urf the Manatee, to various things being named by members of the community (and one little reference to Something Awful’s community), there is plenty to find if you’re looking hard enough. These are but a taste of what’s out there.
If you think there are better references in the game, find out something that you think no-one else has found or want to expand some of the stuff in this article, feel free to take it to the League of Legends section of the forums.
Dungeons & Dragons Online
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is one of the most cherished Role Playing Games of all time. From the dreadful Beholders to the Majestic dragons, who could ever resist the first Role Playing Game that bedazzled the world of gaming? Although Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson managed to hook people with such a display of imagination, could a Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) version have the same effect? Dungeons and Dragons has been a around longer than the World of Warcraft and Warhammer universes, giving birth to numerous spin-offs of Tolkien-based characters that appealed to a wide variety of gamers.
The series became overly popular in the gaming meta and is still cherished even up to this point, spawning an array of different stories and clone scenarios like Forgotten Realms and Dragon Lance. The question is, can an old gaming benchmark do well against its established competitors in their own turf?
When I first came into the world of Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO), I can’t help but be overwhelmed with how well they projected the Storytelling game in the visual plane. It’s a very good-looking game in my opinion. The graphics aren’t really that of the nextgen era, but the game did achieve its well-deserved visuals.
Pristontale II Review: A Brand Spanking New Tale!
Pristontale II Review: A Brand Spanking New Tale!
By Vincent Haoson (Vincenthaoson), OnRPG Journalist
Pristontale II: The Second Enigma is the direct sequel to Yedang Online’s successful 2001 MMORPG of the same name. Pristontale II continues from its predecessor’s lore however significant changes were made both in the game’s graphics engine and the game system. The creators meanwhile retained all the game features and systems that players enjoyed in the first game.
First Impressions
Being one of the people who used to obsess and play Pristontale. Memories of the game were of almost blocky characters, intense but pretty basic skill sprites and one heck of an addicting game to play specially if you are playing it with friends. So I was expecting a lot from Pristontale II and I was not disappointed.

Inserted image is what the previous game chars looked like
In terms of the game’s graphics engine, it proudly says that Pristontale II uses the Unreal engine. THis is a definite level up and it made Pristontale II such a sight to behold specially for an old player such as myself. I never realized that the game could look this good and I was just right to set my expectations that high.
It looks so good that even new players introduced into the game without prior knowledge of how Prisontale looked then won’t be disappointed. The game looks better than most of the MMORPGs out right now and I think the only reason some would be turned off by the graphics, is that it looks pretty much an Asian MMORPG.
Significant Changes
Pristontale II retains the two races from the original game but adds a third one, the Sophetio race. Unlike its predecessor, the there are only two jobs available per race in Pristontale II. Each race has a melee and ranged fighter and each job class is basically divided into the defensive or the offensive kinds.
The game also introduces the mount, lapis and loot pet system, all of which were not part of the first game. The Lapis system will be explained later own however the mounts and the loot pet system are self-explanatory.

While it is a given that these two game features are not significant leaps or bounds in the game, they are the best examples of the novelty features you’d get to experience in the game that were not part of Pristontale. However, it cannot be ignored that these things should be expected from the game since they are already part of every other client based MMORPG out there.
Pristontale II also introduces a better and more up-to-date game interface that is similar to a lot of aisan-themed MMOs out now. While this may be an attractive point for old players such as myself, this won’t even matter to any new player.
Lapis
As an added feature to Pristontale II. The Lapis is the small sprite or spirit that is seen flying above your character’s right shoulder once it is equipped. These little things provide a boost to your character’s stats and even buff them if the said Lapis has one. You can get one through either one of the starting quests or purchase one over at the premium store.

You can either go with slimer here or a tinkerbell lookalike
The Lapis also levels in conjunction to the character’s grinding or questing. You can think of them as the support pets in other MMOs, the only exception the Lapis has is that you don’t have to feed them on a regular basis.
Skill System
Pristontale II retains the skill-based gameplay from its predecessor. This means the game still does not allow any stat allocation and the natural growth of a character’s stats is highly based on the path it has chosen. This pushes players to rely once again on their skill allotment skills and their equipment capabilities.

Crafting
Speaking of which, Pristontale II players may now craft their items with the inclusion of a crafting feature. Similarly to WoW’s crafting system, players get to choose to get an area of specialty in crafting. You get to use crafting materials dropped by monsters and then create your own equipment with the help of a recipe.
The crafting system adds a new “goal” or players to explore which was once unavailable in Pristontale. In fact, the crafting quests provide players with repeatable quests that give them not only points for their chosen guild but also experience and in-game currency.
PVPing
PvP in Pristontale II is still restricted on certain areas. These areas are called the Warfare zones and are marked as red on your maps. In these zones almost everyone is your enemy except for your clan or party.
The thing about the Warfare zones is that you are given “additional powers” at every hour on the hour. This keeps the tension up for those who are inside the area because the probability of facing a “buffed up” character is highly possible and that the monsters inside of the area are pretty much buffed up as well.

Conclusion
While Pristontale II did provide the nostalgia I never experienced from other games. It is in fact a good game on its own even for new players who have no idea on the first one. Yes it has a pretty good core gameplay that originated from the first game and yes, the new and improved graphics, the added game features and the updated interfaces would make any Pristontale fan sqeal for glee, but I’m sure the reaction’s going to be different for a new player coming in.
All that was added to Pristontale II is already found in other MMORPGs. For a person who has no loyalty or ties to the name will think that this is all just fanfare and PR fluff. I would even go as far as saying that the game is catered more for Pristontale players rather than new ones.
With that said, Pristontale II is a must play for old players of Pristontale looking for something new to their beloved game. New players are still welcome to try the game out, however you should keep an open mind with the game or you’re going to end up irritated and would think you just wasted your time.
Pros
– Definite improvements in the graphics compared to the first pristontale game.
– They have improved Pristontale’s core gameplay.
– The game is pretty much an update of the old game.
Cons
– You would not appreciate the changes unless you have played the first game.
– The game seems to target old Pristontale players rather than attracting the new players.
– There is nothing new or innovative in the game if you compare it against other MMORPGs out now.
Lord of the Rings Online
The Lord of the Rings Onlineâ„¢ is the world’s first and only MMOG based on the Books of J.R.R. Tolkien. Players can experience the most famous fantasy world of all time, exploring and adventuring their heroes through the vast reaches of Middle-earth in the fight against the forces of the Dark Lord Sauron.
Create a unique character:
Adventure as a Man, Elf, Dwarf or Hobbit. After choosing where your character hails from, select region-appropriate color palettes for skin, hair, eye color, and more. Equip yourself with items like sturdy Dwarven armor, intricate Elven mail, or weapons created with the knowledge of past Ages. Choose one of seven classes: deal massive damage as a Champion, protect your fellowship as a Guardian, beguile your enemies as a Burglar, or try a Captain, Hunter, Minstrel, or Lore-master.
As your character advances and grows, customize it using Traits – interchangeable abilities which modify your character’s skills to give you greater control over its specializations. Gain new Trait slots by leveling, and unlock new Traits by completing Accomplishments.
Fight alone or with other players:
With hundreds of hours of gameplay, there’s plenty to do in LOTRO as a solo player or in a fellowship. Follow the storyline on your own or form a fellowship with other players for epic battles against creatures like Orcs, Wights, and even Balrogs. Coordinated fellowships can use group combo moves to do incredible damage, heal their fellowship, or restore their energy – how they harness the power of a combo is entirely up to them to decide! LOTRO will also include a consensual Player vs. Player combat system (details forthcoming), allowing players to fight against each other for glory and honor!
Create items both legendary and mundane:
Farm in the Shire or forge weapons and armor in Thorin’s Halls. Players can craft arms for the fight against the Dark Lord Sauron, or enjoy more peaceful activities like cooking and farming. Those who dedicate themselves to becoming master crafters can create legendary items of unsurpassed quality.
Dramatic sequences:
LOTRO offers an expansive, open world, and incorporates cinematic technology to present the player with movie-like sequences which further the storyline. Experience epic challenges like the depths of the Great Barrow, the siege of Fornost and the battle to retake Weathertop.
Interact with others:
Meet and socialize with thousands of other players and fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. Relax at the Prancing Pony in Bree, the Green Dragon Inn in the Shire, or any of the many other social centers throughout the land. Express yourself through emotes and chat – wave hello, bow, or dance with a friend!
Journey through Middle-earth:
Experience an epic storyline through hundreds of quests created as a companion to The Lord of the Rings. Adventure in familiar areas as well as new ones, created for the game, which were only briefly touched on by J.R.R. Tolkien in his master works. Experience Middle-earth as never before as you swim the Brandywine River or make your way through the mists of the Old Forest. Turbine, working closely with Tolkien Enterprises, has created what Gamedaily calls “…a must have title for fans of Tolkien lore.”

He now leads Frogster’s PR department together with Axel Schmidt, who assumed his current role as Director of Corporate Communications in August as well.
Christian Szymanski had risen from Senior Marketing Manager to Head of Brand Marketing in August 2010 before taking on his newest position as Director of Marketing. Before his move to Berlin he worked in his hometown of Hamburg as Brand Manager for games publisher Codemasters, where he coordinated marketing and PR strategies for titles such as the well-known online RPG ‘Lord of the Rings Online’. Square Enix Apologize for Final Fantasy XIV
Square Enix Apologize for Final Fantasy XIV
With several time extensions to the free trial of FFXIV already made, Square today extended this until further notice while they rapidly work to redesign the game so that players are satisfied with the results. Read on for the most sincere Press Release you’re sure to see for a long time. Here’s hoping that the new development team can reach their goals.

“Thank you for your continued interest in and support of FINAL FANTASY XIV.
While more than two months have passed since the official launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV service, we deeply regret that the game has yet to achieve the level of enjoyability that FINAL FANTASY fans have come to expect from the franchise, and for this we offer our sincerest of apologies.
After thorough deliberation on how to meet those expectations, it was decided that the most viable step was to approach improvements under new leadership and with a restructured team.
To realize this vision, and in doing so, provide our customers with a better game experience, we have assembled our company’s top talent and resources. Taking over the role of producer and director is Naoki Yoshida, a passionate individual for whom customer satisfaction has always taken top priority. Not only is he one of our Group’s most accomplished and experienced members, Naoki Yoshida is also a charismatic leader possessing the skill to bring together and effectively helm a team which encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. We also welcome several new leaders handpicked from other projects to work with the existing talent on FINAL FANTASY XIV.
We realize time is of the essence and are fully determined to provide our customers with quality service. It is because of this that we ask our customers to be patient until we are able to confidently present them with a concrete plan outlining FINAL FANTASY XIV’s new direction. The free trial period will be extended until that time.
Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned. For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011.
The FINAL FANTASY XIV team is working hard to bring our customers an unparalleled adventure, and we ask for your continued understanding and support as we march ever diligently towards that goal.
President and CEO, Yoichi Wada”
