Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that creates and publishes download-free, Flash-based RPGs to over 150 million registered users, celebrates International Talk Like a Pirate Day this Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 at 7 PM EDT in all of its major games including AdventureQuest Worlds, EpicDuel, DragonFable, MechQuest, AdventureQuest, and HeroSmash.

New players first logging into any of AE’s games this Wednesday will notice that it’s not just the gear, quests, and monsters that have received a nautical makeover. Most of AE’s veteran players look forward to this pun-filled parody of a holiday each year, forming whole groups of pirate-garbed adventurers to battle against the scurviest enemies the team can throw at them. (Many will continue this way for several days after because… well, pirates are just that cool!).
Talk Like a Pirate Day is always fun and the AE staff would like to invite landlubbers everywhere, new players and old, high-level and brand-new, buckos and wenches alike, to participate in the festivities. SOE Releases DC Univese Online’s DLC5 – Hand of Fate
SOE Releases DC Univese Online’s DLC5 – Hand of Fate
SOE today announced that Hand of Fate, the fifth downloadable content pack for DC Universe Online, is now available for download on the PC and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. At the bidding of Doctor Fate or the evil sorcerer Felix Faust, players will undertake Operations – six intense new episodes designed for group play featuring three Heroic and three Villainous – that will take high level players back out to the iconic, open-world cities of Gotham City and Metropolis. Additionally, a wealth of new side missions will be featured, providing more fun and depth to the game’s storyline and world. Hand of Fate also provides players with new Utility Belt Attachments and debuts magic-powered Legends PvP characters, bringing a tale of magic and mystery to life.
“The fact that this is our fifth major downloadable content pack showcases our commitment to expanding the immersive player experience through regular content updates,” said Jens Andersen, creative director on DC Universe Online. “Hand of Fate is unlike anything we’ve offered to date. From the very beginning, it was designed to draw players back out to our massive open-world cities and allow them to experience them in new, unexpected ways. We are pleased with what we have come up with and can’t wait to hear what the players think.”
Hand of Fate provides players with hours of new adventures and content:
Utility Belt Attachments – Utility Belt Attachments expand the trinket load-out from one to up to four slots, allowing players to equip multiple trinkets, toys, pets, and consumables at once. All Utility Belt Attachments have at least two slots, while some also have upgradeable slots! Utility Belt Attachments give players more flexibility and options in the heat of combat without having to swap out items.
New Legends Characters – Hand of Fate introduces the first arcane characters to Legends PvP. The Lord of Order, Doctor Fate and the evil sorcerer Felix Faust make their playable debut in Legends PvP as magic-wielding hand-blasters who conjure powerful spells and summon allies to their aid.
Operations – Six intense new episodes designed for group play – three Heroic and three Villainous – are now unleashed upon players under the direction of Doctor Fate and Felix Faust. Heroes will be called to help the Lords of Order protect innocent souls from the forces of darkness. Villains must complete perilous missions for Felix Faust to reap his rewards.
Side Missions – As players battle through the six Operations, up to 60 side missions will arise that take players all over Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond, pitting them against previous adversaries and new dangers that have arisen.
Legendary members can now access DCUO’s Hand of Fate DLC pack for free. Hand of Fate is also available for $9.99 USD to Free and Premium players via the PlayStation®Network, the in-game Marketplace, or for PC players via the DCUniverseOnline.com website.

Dragon Nest Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary with Full Month of Events
Dragon Nest Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary with Full Month of Events
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a full year since I took up arms and played Dragon Nest for 3 months straight without missing a night to write up my review with Platy. Now it’s North American anniversary is upon us and with it comes a busy schedule of events with GMs, PvP tourneys, special hats, and so much more! Of course exp and drop bonus events will be plentiful in true Nexon style.
But for those of us that have been living under the action gaming rock for the last year and haven’t seen Dragon Nest in action, they prepared a nice little trailer to fill you in. Enjoy!
RiotZone Announces Month-Long Event Scenario
RiotZone Announces Month-Long Event Scenario
Leading publisher Mail.RU Games announced today it will launch two harrowing missions starting tomorrow for its online strategy war game, RiotZone. The month-long event will not only feature a choice of action-packed missions and strategic gameplay, but it will also include a chance at exciting super prizes!
It’s a noticeably stormy morning at sea in Merania as dark waves crash against the sides of the landing boats. Soldiers look straight ahead onto the corrugated metal of the landing ramp as the signal is issued, and the soles of army boots can be heard pounding against the metal as they run to attack. It’s then that small points of light are visible in the sky and in the distance a shape of a parachute. With a wiry smile the sergeant declares “The boys are jumping.”
In this new unique event, players can select which version of the mission they would like to complete. Each day they can choose their mission either spending the day helping paratroopers or on the high seas serving the Navy. Depending on the choice made, players will perform a unique set of missions designed with high-action and non-stop excitement. Rewards for each mission – Navy or Paratrooper – will also differ so this won’t be an easy choice. For aiding the paratroopers, players will receive several badges lasting two hours each, and Navy players will receive just one badge but it lasts much longer. It’s a dilemma players will face in this exciting new event!
Players will also have the opportunity to earn keys during the mission which can be used to open crates of supplies. The number of keys, crates and other bonuses they receive for a mission will depend on the choices they make and it won’t be easy!
