En Masse Promotes Equality with new Balanced Battleground Event
En Masse Promotes Equality with new Balanced Battleground Event
Enjoying TERA but tired of the veterans trouncing on you with their superior farmed armor and weapons? Think you could hold your own if the playing field were leveled? En Masse Entertainment is giving players the chance for the next four weeks with a new equalized version of Fraywind Canyon Battleground!
So what do we mean by equalized? Once you enter into the battlefield your current gear will be replaced with pre-chosen equal gear sets. Your crystals will remain intact (as well as number of slots in your current armor) and potions and the like are still on you, but at least you’ll be able to deal out damage on par with all rivals and take hits with the best of them! Although we’re hoping this becomes a permanent fixture of the game, all signs point to a limited engagement! Check out the full details at TERA’s official site!
League of Legends Reveals Lissandra, the Ice Witch
League of Legends Reveals Lissandra, the Ice Witch
After a 6 part mini-lore series build up, Riot Games has finally revealed League of Legends newest champion, Lissandra. The dataminers were proven spot on that she is a anti-melee ice mage with a powerful passive allowing near infinite spell spam and tons of AoE slows to control the battlefield. She also features a quite unique art design that should quell the many general discussion complaints that all the champions are pretty girls with no personality. Be sure to read up on the full details at League of Legends’ official page.

Disney Shuts Down Gaming Division of LucasArts
Today Disney has removed the gaming division of LucasArts, firing as many as 150 employees in the process. The official statement given is as follows:
“After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. Perfect World Entertainment Launches RaiderZ Broken Silence Expansion
Perfect World Entertainment Inc. today announced the launch of RaiderZ: Broken Silence, the first expansion in the monster-hunting MMORPG. The Broken Silence expansion increases the level cap to 40 and introduces the new region of Cowen Marsh.
“We are excited to bring our first RaiderZ expansion to our devoted players,” said Mark Hill, RaiderZ Senior Producer. “In addition to the new level cap and new region of Cowen Marsh, Broken Silence brings new epic bosses, new gear, new PvP Battle Arena, and an improved party matching system. We hope players will enjoy the new content and we are looking forward to adding even more in the future.”
In RaiderZ, players must “Hunt Together or Die Alone” if they hope to succeed in battles against Rendel’s most deadly creatures. RaiderZ features action-oriented combat system, flexible class system, unique and engaging boss encounters, and stunning environments.
The RaiderZ: Broken Silence expansion includes the following new features:
New Level Cap: with a new level cap of 40, warriors can gather the necessary strength to fight and protect themselves from dangers ahead.
New Region: Cowen Marsh was once a beautiful, lush, and vibrant region full of life. Recent contamination has turned this area into a toxic wasteland seeping throughout and into the sacred Temple of Renas.
New Epic Bosses: Cowen Marsh’s toxins have mutated and defiled the once beautiful creatures of the region. As a result, some beasts have gained elemental powers while others hideously mutated their bodies to gain new abilities.
New Gear: Cowen Marsh yields new and undiscovered treasures from fallen warriors and enemies.
Wave System: With the new Wave System, you can protect Riode and Rietz from harm by fending off waves of enemies.
PvP Battle Arena: Prove your strength against other combatants in the new Battle Arena. Test your skills against the strongest warriors to earn Battle Arena points and new costumes.
Improved Party Matching System: With the Party Matching System, players can team up with adventurers of similar combat experience and go on the hunt together in the Kingdom of Rendel.

TERA Partners with Happy Cloud to Enable On Demand Access
TERA Partners with Happy Cloud to Enable On Demand Access
Happy Cloud, Inc., the leading provider of cloud-based on demand gaming, announces today that it has been selected to partner with En Masse Entertainment to enable on demand access for TERA: Rising, its premier subscription-free action-oriented MMORPG. Happy Cloud’s innovative “data streaming” technology now allows gamers to jump into TERA’s immersive world with no need to sit through a download and installation process.
Happy Cloud’s patent-pending data streaming technology works by delivering the game’s content files—images, video, sound, and game logic—to the end user’s computer as they play, in the order they are needed. Gamers no longer need to sit through many hours of waiting to download the 22 GB necessary to install TERA: Rising. Happy Cloud data streaming eliminates over 90% of the initial download and the entire installation process, enabling a seamless on demand user experience.
“Improving our user onboarding process for TERA: Rising is a priority for us, and using Happy Cloud’s system is an easy way for us to get more players into TERA’s immersive, 3D world,” said Soo Min Park, COO at En Masse Entertainment. “Taking a graphically rich, fast-paced game such as TERA: Rising, which contains hundreds of hours of gameplay, and delivering the bytes in the order they’re needed is no small task, but we’re confident this will provide an even better experience for our fast growing legion of fans.”
TERA: Rising is the subscription-free version of En Masse Entertainment’s inaugural title. The game made the transition from subscription-only in early 2013, and since then has seen tremendous growth, more than doubling its registered player accounts, which has fueled heightened player activity. With demand on the rise, the integration of Happy Cloud will allow gamers improved ease of access to the world of TERA.
“Happy Cloud helps publishers and gamers by breaking down barriers to getting in-game,” said Eric Gastfriend, VP and GM of Happy Cloud. “A 22 GB download and installation can take days. We’ve cut the initial download by over 90% and eliminated the installation process entirely, all without making any changes to the game’s source code.”
Happy Cloud data streaming technology is wrapped around the compiled game executable by the Happy Cloud team with little to no effort or code changes required from the game developers. It includes full support for frequent patches and updates. Happy Cloud uses intelligent branching and caching algorithms to deliver the game content from the cloud as it is played. Eventually, the user is left with a full installation of the game on their computer, and has the exact same gameplay experience as through a traditional download.
The Happy Cloud on demand experience is now publicly available for new users to try out after completing the registration process at tera.enmasse.com.
