In General War, you can lead your own army and experience a unique campaign on your browser!

Authentic Units: Utilize actual vehicles used in World War II as you build and customize your personal army.

Resource Management: An army can’t fight without backing. Utilize General War’s base building features to increase your income flow and acquire stronger soldiers.

Battle to Control Europe: Ally with friends and vie to control the European continent. Earn badges of honor as proof of your many victories!

APB Vendetta

APB Vendetta is set in the world of APB Reloaded, and features an intense shooter style of gameplay, that focuses heavily on movement. Characters can be customized with a variety of weapons, such as guns, swords, bats, and more. Each character brings their own unique style of play to the table, and with 12 characters to choose from off the bat, there’s sure to be something to fit anyone.

Features

Movement is Key: Run on walls, slow time down, disarm opponents with kicks and chops, and slide backwards and under obstacles. These are just a few of the things you can do in APB Vendetta.

Wide Variety of Weapons: Not content with your typical guns? Pick up a sword, a broken bottle, or a lead pipe and do some damage. Playing a strong character? Why not grab two heavy weapons in either hand for some real fun!

Unique Characters: Each of the characters offers something different. All characters have unique stats for weight, power, and speed, and all have a special ability that defines them in battle.

Community Driven: The ability to link public and private servers in the game world sets APB Vendetta apart. In addition, the rich modding opportunity will help further the sense of community the game strives for.

Joyhubs Assault the West with Two Tactical MMO Launches in April

Joyhubs has made a splash this month launching two F2P browser based titles focused on empire building mechanics combined with action combat, though each offering different enough of an experience to not overlap each other.

 Seven Seas Saga Beta Launch

First up is Seven Seas Saga, a title that takes you into the renaissance world of overseas exploration, treasure hunting, and of course the endless battle between pirates and merchants. Whether players are looking to build a resource farming empire spanning the globe or simply risk their worth raiding the top clans’ naval caravans, you’ll constantly find something of interest to explore.

 Siege on Stars Action Combat

And for players seeking a bit of SciFi in their gaming, Siege on Stars offers one of the most in-depth looking browser space empire builders we’ve yet come across. Not only will players need to do the usual resource acquisition, defense build-up and configuration, clan coordination, and so on you’d expect from an empire builder browser game, but they will need to pilot their own ship in action combat amongst their peers. This goes beyond a simple add-on minigame and is actually a rather in-depth RPG system that allows you to acquire various ships of different strengths, upgrade them, upgrade your pilot’s attributes, and plenty more to distinguish yourself from others.

 Siege on Stars Character Customization

Both titles seem to have a offer a good deal of gameplay based on what we’ve seen so far but keep an eye out as our content team is busy at work giving both titles a look over. But if you’d rather check them out yourself be sure to jump into Seven Seas Saga or Siege on Stars now as both are open for public testing.

SilentFuture unveils new features for Earthrise: First Impact

Earthrise: First Impact

The German development studio SilentFuture is unveiling the new list of features in “Earthrise”, the sandbox MMORPG they acquired and the new developer blog on www.play-earthrise.com. SilentFuture has been making some essential improvements to the gameplay and technology of this science fiction online RPG, now known as Earthrise: First Impact, since May 2012, and the game has a new background story and a total redesign. Earthrise: First Impact is due to enter the Beta phase in a few weeks’ time and the official game launch is scheduled for late 2013. Players can gain access to the test phases of the game at www.play-earthrise.com/founders and, as an “Earthrise Founder”, can also help drive the further development of Earthrise: First Impact. A presentation of the new concept is available on Steam, where players can also provide feedback.

Katharina Weiß, Creative Director of SilentFuture, says: “When our players purchase a ‘Founder Package’ they are supporting the development of Earthrise: First Impact and, in return, will have direct access to the game, all the special in-game items and the permanent title of ‘Earthrise Founder’. We are currently focusing on optimizing and redesigning the Earthrise features. One of the biggest changes will be made to the faction system: players will be able to choose from eight playable factions instead of the two previously available. We will also add a dynamic mission system which will be greatly influenced by the role the player chooses. In addition, we have refined the movement to make the gameplay much more precise compared to the old version.”

Earthrise: First Impact

Daniel Schemann, CEO of SilentFuture, adds: “Up to now most of the development time has been spent on improving the game engine and we have made massive improvements to performance; in particular loading times and rendering are now much faster. For us, the feedback from the game testers is one of the most important aspects of the development process. For example, we listened closely to the suggestions of our testers when we designed the loot and crafting systems and are currently focusing on the gameplay and graphics in Earthrise: First Impact and implementing the suggestions of the community here too.”

Players can now see a presentation of the game concept on Steam at http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=141173860.

Earthrise: First Impact

The development team will also be posting info on current themes around Earthrise: First Impact on blog.play-earthrise.com.

Features (selection):

  • Dynamic Faction System
You can choose from eight playable factions. Status and sympathies will be greatly influenced by the missions you have selected and the players’ behavior. So be careful: today’s friends could be tomorrow’s enemies.
  • Open World PvP
Explore an area of over 250km² and discover new locations that no one has ever visited before. A battle can flare up anytime and anywhere fueled by greed, revenge or glory.
  • Free Skill System
You are free to choose which skills you want to increase with no restrictions imposed, and can therefore define your own class.
  • Teamplay
Rise to the challenges with your friends and fight alongside them. You can combine your various skills to complement each other perfectly.
  • Modding
Modify your weapon to get the most out of it. Change the type of damage or improve weapon quality; a large range of modifications is available.
  • Friendly Fire
Always ensure you have enough cover during combat; the bullets of your friends may also prove deadly!
  • Territorial Control
Conquer outposts throughout the entire world with your friends, and build and expand bases to earn bonuses.
  • Punishment System / Karma
You can break the law or betray your allies, but remember: hardly anyone likes a criminal; not even the criminals themselves!
  • Loot System
Not only the body, but also items can be restored after death. However, not all the items will make the restoration process and your enemies may be only too grateful to acquire the things you drop.
  • Dynamic Missions
Besides chain quests, Earthrise: First Impact contains dynamic missions that you and your friends can carry out and which can be accessed at special terminals.
  • Epic Story
Plunge headlong into the game and follow the story to find out what really happened and what is in store for you.

#9Reasons to Remember City of Heroes

By Meticulous Meta, OnRPG’s Unemployed Hero

This weekend would have been City of Heroes’ 9th Anniversary, and the fans aren’t about to forget it. City of Heroes fans around the world are once again taking to Twitter to get their voices heard in a 10 day long campaign. This time remembering City of Heroes as the innovative, community driven game that it was.

Atlas Park

The campaign itself, titled #9Reasons starts today, each day having it’s own theme. Today starts it all off with innovations. Organization of the event, being described as a celebration rather than a call to action, can be found on the player made Titan Network forums. Or you can check out the schedule below.

Friday April 26: 9 Ways City of Heroes was an innovator in the industry
Saturday April 27th: 9 Favorite Task Forces or Missions
Sunday April 28th: 9 City zones that need saving
Monday April 29th: 9 Unsolved Plots
Tuesday April 30th: 9 In game events that can’t go on without heroes
Wednesday May 1st: 9 Things that never made it in game
Thursday May 2nd: 9 Favorite NPCs
Friday May 3rd: 9 Real life reasons we want the game back
Saturday May 4th: 9 Player Characters. The names of nine of your characters.
Sunday May 5th: 0 Replacements. No list, just a statement that there is no replacement for City of Heroes.

Last Party in Virtue D

If City of Heroes were still with us this week we would have been in full celebration mode. We would have seen new badges, invasions of who knows what, parties being held by The Cape and other groups, and if you were lucky you might find a dev or two wandering around. This is the first anniversary without City of Heroes. Some may say that celebrating it is pointless. I disagree. And it isn’t even about trying to get City of Heroes back, though I’m right there with everyone still fighting the good fight. It’s about family. It’s about remembering those times we had together, the friends we made, and the lives that were changed all because of a game.

Recently the City of Heroes community has been getting a bit of a bad name. Bitterness over what happened has brought us into some bad light. This week we change that. This week we show the world that we are still positive against all odds. We’re all hurting, and we all grieve over our loss in different ways. So instead of negativity I encourage you all to be positive. Listen to the CoH Soundtrack. Go ICONic for some time on Raptr. Or even write a short story about your favorite hero and post it for the world to read. Honor the memory of City of Heroes by rereading the City of Heroes books, break out the comics and give them a look through. There are so many ways you can mark this weekend. Personally, I’ll be sitting with baited breath waiting for the new Lore AMA answers to be published. And I promise when they do I’ll be back on OnRPG to let everyone know.

I miss City of Heroes, I miss writing about if for you all to read. Most of all I miss my friends. Remember to stay positive, hug a former Paragon Studios staff member and have some Ascendant-O’s.

Happy  Birthday City of Heroes, my /em torch shines bright for you.
