Eon Altar

Eon Altar is a unique, cross-platform RPG experience.  Designed to play off of smartphones and tablets, the game links all the devices onto a central display, while each individual character is controlled by each player’s tablet or smartphone.  The game gives everyone the feel of a tabletop adventure, while providing modern convenience and turn-based action, dialogue, and more.

Features:

Unique, cross-platform play:  Designed for tablets, smartphones, and tablet PCs running iOS, Windows 8, or Android, Eon Altar will support them all seamlessly.

Traditional RPG style:  Explore deep caves, uncover buried treasure, and defeat scores of monsters with your friends, reminiscent of a classic tabletop adventure.

Individual action:  Your own device controls your own character.  This gives you the power to decide what you want to do, rather than what one person in the group does.

Eon Altar Announcement Trailer (2013)

Eon Altar is a new cooperative role-playing adventure that blends the experience of classic tabletop gaming and modern video games into a tabletop video game.

Five friends fight through dungeons to uncover ancient secrets and compete for glory and wealth. Using personal handsets to control your character’s actions, with a tablet to a tablet to adventure through dungeons as a group, players undertake a cinematic journey unlike anything ever before in a tabletop setting.

PAX Prime 2013 Day 2 Recap: Guild Wars 2, Eon Altar, and Smashmuck Champions

PAX Prime 2013 WildStar Cosplay

The second day of any major convention is always a tad bit slower than the opening day. Or perhaps you just are after having survived opening day. Or a third theory is that it’s no longer a weekday and now everyone and (quite literally) their mother is now in attendance so moving from booth to booth becomes a human edition of Rush Hour. No matter the case, I decided to take to the streets half way through and explore the city looking for more stories to cover. Not the least of which being a twelve block hike up some brutal hills to reach the Madison Hotel. Apparently ArenaNet only wanted the fit and faithful to witness the anniversary demo of The Sunless!

Forced

Forced is a one- to four-player co-op tactical RPG, designed in the style of an arcade adventure with puzzles and tactical elements. Condemned as a gladiator slave, you must face deadly trials and creatures to win your freedom; but Balfus, your Spirit Mentor, will guide you in your quest for recognition.

Features:

Co-operative Play: Online and local multi-player for 1-4 players, in a cooperative environment reminiscent of Diablo. Players can apply marks to enemies that everyone can spend to deal
devastating damage.

Spirit Mentor System: Balfus is your Spirit Mentor. A controllable guide, Balfus can interact with the world in ways players can’t, and can pick up special powers from shrines. He’s even capable of turning into a deadly bomb!

Dozens of Trials: Challenge yourself in over 25 arenas, meet the all-zapping Life-Ender Beam and the Choking Mist.

Extensive Customization: Four weapon classes each offer a multitude of skills and can create unique killing-combos.
