Ilya Muromets: Early Access Program Available Today

IIya

1С Game Studios and the Russian Military Historical Society are excited to announce that the Early Access program for ILYA MUROMETS, a new flight sim from the creators of IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, starts today.

The ILYA MUROMETS early access version will be available for purchase and download at the official web site for the price of $19.99 USD starting from August 1st, the day when Germany declared war on Russia and the Russian Empire entered World War I.

ILYA MUROMETS covers the events of the air war on the Eastern Front during World War I and features the gigantic and legendary four-engine bomber of the Imperial Russian Air Force. This plane became the first large bomber in the history of aerial warfare and is the forefather of the multi-engine long-range strategic aviation of later conflicts.

ILYA MUROMETS will feature several additional fighter planes and attack planes from Russia, Germany and Austro-Hungary. A map covering a portion of the Eastern Front (territory of modern day Ukraine) will be included in the game. This was an active theatre for the Ilya Muromets during the war where several famous missions took place. The game will include a set of challenging single-player mission scenarios along with a quick mission builder and multiplayer capability.

Skyforge: Classes revealed

Skyforge

My.com has released more information on content for the upcoming highly-stylised MMORPG featuring exciting dynamic combat in Skyforge. The new details explains the classes available in the game.

“In Skyforge classes are divided into several groups depending on access level. Beginners have access to three classes at the start of the game – Lightbinder, Paladin and Cryomancer. Gradually, after completing various adventures and receiving rewards, intermediate and advanced classes, with 5 in each, become accessible. For example, a Berserker is an intermediate class and it will take several days from the start of the game to gain access to it. However, to play as a Gunner you would have to spend several weeks developing your character because it is in the advanced group.

Moreover, as we have already said you can change your class anywhere and at any time as long as you or your group is not in combat. You do not need to waste time going to a special place in a certain town – you can change class whenever and wherever necessary.

For many players our class system opens new horizons, but those that stick to one role probably ask why is this change necessary if I am just going to play with long range combat classes? The answer to that lies in the fact that there is a large number of classes with one role but each of them have their own unique qualities. Cryomancer and Gunner are both long range combat classes, but they are completely different in terms of style and gameplay. If you like to smash enemies that cross your path without stopping before anyone, a Gunner is an ideal choice. If you prefer positional combat, then a Cryomancer is an excellent candidate due to its crowd control skills. A Lightbinder is not just a DD, but also an excellent support class with additional protection skills. Close combat classes can also differ greatly from each other. For example, a Paladin is a DD oriented towards a single target. However, a Berserker will feel fairly comfortable in combat with a large number of opponents because its skills are more focused on area damage. Players will find their own entertainment here: by progressing this and other classes, they will gradually master a role, perfecting the art of close or long range combat.”

Firefly Online

Firefly Online is a multi-user strategic roleplaying game set in the universe of Joss Whedon’s cult classic TV show – Firefly. Players take on the role of a ship captain as they hire a crew and seek out adventures, all the while trading with and competing against the millions of other players like themselves, doing whatever it takes to survive in the Verse. It is designed for both desktop and mobile OSes and will allow users to play the same character across devices.

Features:

Social Features: Firefly Online is a single player game, supported by social features that give you the opportunity to connect with friends and fellow Firefly Online users in new and unique ways. Players can exchange items they don’t need through mail systems. If a player’s ship breaks down, others can come to their aid. Players can even create jobs (quests) for one another and post them to a community board.

Turn-Based Combat: You control your entire crew during combat, maneuvering them to safer cover, working strategically to make the most of the terrain and your crew’s abilities. The presentation is entirely 3D, with 3D characters, objects and environments. At the end of combat, you’re rewarded with experience, as well as some assorted loot from your fallen enemies. This loot can be used, sold or parted out for materials to make your own custom-built weapons and trade goods.

Ship Customization: Customization allows you to tweak the appearance of the interior and exterior of your ship. You can show off your personality with new paint jobs and a variety of interior décor options. It’s even possible to buy real world goods and get digital versions for your cabin or galley. Ship customization can also have an impact on gameplay. The first ship you own will have limited crew and cargo capacity. New bunks can be built, and interior space can be expanded to accommodate more crew, more freight and more passengers. Even the engines can be upgraded to be more reliable and faster.

Diverse Options: The universe of Firefly is a violent place, and many jobs will involve combat – but there are almost always ways to talk or scheme your way out of a fight. If you’re the type who’d rather negotiate, you’ll want to focus on crew that have savvy in that direction. A registered companion, for example, will offer options other than gunplay.
