Wizard-Based Multiplayer FPS *Grimoire* Now on Kickstarter

Grimoire

The MOBA-inspired multiplayer FPS with wizards (instead of the customary space marines/soldiers/carnivorous plants) is now raising funds on Kickstarter.

Developed with the Unreal SDK by indie outfit OmniConnection, Grimoire borrows from DotA 2 and League of Legends to deliver an eye-opening multiplayer FPS experience introducing everything from devastating “ultimate” attacks to customizable classes and specialized class-based passive skills. Grimoire’s magic attacks include targeting opponents with chunks of magma, deadly lightning, ice shards, clusters of stone, and even a massive meteor shower in a flash of light and color rarely seen in first-person shooters.

Just four days in, the Grimoire crowd-funding campaign has already secured $6,108 of the project’s $42,000 goal. Developer OmniConnection has also submitted the game to Steam Greenlight.

Archlord 2: First expansion released

Archlord 2

WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, is delighted to announce that the PvP-focused MMORPG Archlord 2 released its first expansion today, officially ending the Open Beta phase.

With this first major content update, Archlord 2 offers an increased level cap for characters, going from level 41 to level 46. In conjunction with this increase, players can explore new areas and quests, a new contested area, multiple new instanced dungeons, a whole new tier of equipment and the titular Archlord system. To celebrate the launch, a login event has been organised for the players, rewarding them with pieces of an uncommon Avatar Set, a powerful armour, each week. The event starts today and will end on 13 October 2014. More information can be found on the official Archlord 2 website: http://archlord2.webzen.com/main

With the activation of the Archlord system, the PvP competition is bound to heat up. The contenders for the title of the Archlord will fight in battlegrounds every day in order to gather enough points to receive an invitation for the ultimate battleground, the Archlord Finals, a last man standing confrontation taking place every Sunday. The victor will receive the coveted title and rewards worthy of a supreme ruler: an epic dragon mount, a shiny legendary armour and special skills. The weekly ranking and the battleground schedule can be viewed in-game and on the official website: http://archlord2.webzen.com/Community/Ranking/List/101/0/0

PvP enthusiasts will also be able to enter battle in a new Skirmish, the “Valley of Cries”, offering a new play mode for 5-vs-5 PvP battles.

The new features don’t only concern the contenders for the title of the Archlord, however, fans of dungeons and exploration will be catered to as well! Three new zones are revealed in this update, with the Fury Mountains, a rocky wasteland, the Land of Warriors, a lush a fertile area, and the Morning Dew Desert, a barren desert on the forefront of the war between the two factions of the Azuni and the Crunn. Four new dungeons populated with fearsome bosses and other vile enemies are introduced for the loot hunters: the Biotesting Lab, the Fire Dragon’s Roost, the Warrior’s Shrine and the Volcanic Caves. Should the adventurers survive these challenges, they might receive a new tier of equipment for their characters.

Players with a WEBZEN account can download the game on the official website: http://archlord2.webzen.com/Download
