Bandai Namco Reveals New Tank RTS Battleline: Steel Warfare
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. announces today an all-new free-to-play game titled Battleline: Steel Warfare for PCs coming later this year. Battleline: Steel Warfare throws players into the belly of both classic and modern tanks with a new spin on tank strategy gaming. Not only will players fight to advance to the front-lines in battles against one another online, they’ll also conquer nations in Battleline: Steel Warfare’s innovative meta-gameplay encompassing entire continents. Starting today, players can sign-up for a chance to play in the Battleline: Steel Warfare closed beta at www.Battlelinegame.com, which is scheduled to begin early November 2014.
Strategy is key in Battleline: Steel Warfare, and each victory contributes to a team’s dominance in the international theater of war. The game is named after its main mode where teams push a visible Battleline back and forth as they take objectives and maneuver on the battlefield. Advancing the Battleline by overrunning your enemy’s positions is the way to win the battle! Players can build Divisions (guilds) with other players to use the combined strength of their tanks to strategically outmaneuver, take down enemy forces and conquer nations. However, be warned that rebellion is possible!

“Battleline: Steel Warfare offers a unique and compelling mix of in-tank battles and broader meta-strategy gameplay,” says In Joon Hwang, Director of Digital Games for Bandai Namco Games America. “The broad spectrum of abilities, customizations, and strategies within the game all come together to give players a multitude of choices not found in other free-to-play games.”
With the sheer variety of tanks from the modern era all the way back to WWI, tank maniacs can finally figure out how many T34s it would take to bring down an M1A1. Or match up Western vs. Soviet forces in the ultimate tank showdown. The possibilities are endless!
Players can customize their tanks by leveling up each tank’s attributes and equipping different shells or gear for various effects. Building and capturing bases within conquered territory will also greatly affect the battle, offering gameplay bonuses to allies. Commanders can also equip various consumable items to be used in the heat of battle.
Battleline: Steel Warfare is an original creation from long-time free-to-play game developer Creant Studios, who are excited to be releasing it as their first title for a western audience. “Our team has devoted countless hours and effort to the development of Battleline: Steel Warfare,” says Dongwook Kim, CEO of Creant Studios, “We look forward to watching players advance the power of their guilds as well as the lines of battle when the game officially launches later this year in the West.”
Battleline: Steel Warfare represents the continued growth of Bandai Namco Games’ presence in the free-to-play space. Battleline: Steel Warfare is an investment in new intellectual properties that advance current gameplay standards, bringing pioneering experiences to its players. The game will be made available on PC later this year.

League of Angels: Angel’s Chest and Beach Treasure Available
League of Angels is one of the most famous browser games out of 2014. One of LoA’s strongest parts is the variety of in-game events that happen on a weekly basis specifically designed to keep players interested and active within the game. Usually League of Angels announces 2 or 3 events per week, always upping the ante in terms of great rewards and gameplays available to all players for free.
This week will be no exception and is full of hot events which will not only surprise players but also enrich their gaming experience. Are you ready for this? This week’s events will be the Angel’s Chest and Beach Treasure! This time, the top players will have the chance to take home the new angel known as Sunniva. She is known as the Goddess of Liberty and will not only set your mind free, but also your body. Hero Commander: Open Beta Now Available
Hero Commander is a cute fantasy strategy game by GTArcade set for a 2014 release, perfectly combining tactical and MMORPG elements into a heroic adventure of epic proportions. Players can play as the lord of the Grand City as well as take command of the army’s leader when going out to battle. The Open Beta will start at Oct.13th. With the new players codes, players can get free resources at the beginning of their journey.
As the city’s lord, there are many obligations besides warfare waiting to be dealt with. Players must listen to the voices of their people and help with their problems. The decisions will greatly influence what their people think of them. The future development of the city also rests in players’ hands. Whether the best way to prosper is trading with other cities or strengthening military power, the choice is entirely up to the lord of the land!
Gear up for a real fight and head out to battle! Players will be met not only by their enemies, but also greeted by their allies. They will never fight alone! Don’t worry if you lose a fight, because a single event can never determine the entire battle. Nonetheless, what one person does surely affects the final outcome. Make sure that your moves count!
The entire world is at stake, not only that of humans. Therefore, the proud Dragons have also joined in the war! Now players will have soldiers, archers, knights and dragons at their disposal. Human beings have several weak points while Dragons have fewer. Soldiers are stronger against Archers, but weaker when facing Knights. Archers do great damage against Knights, but cannot withstand a single blow from Soldiers. Knights are good at crushing Soldiers, but can barely do anything when it comes to Archers. When facing a strong enemy, how players arrange the formation will often be the key to victory.

NYCC 2014 Day 2 – Delays, Delays and Slow Days
By Michael Sagoe (Mikedot)
Missed the Day 1 recap? Catch it here.
Day 2 of NYCC 2014 has arrived, and there were a handful of vendors and exhibits for me to visit today! Of course, there was also a few game booths in particular that I wanted to jump on, including the Tripwire booth where they were showing off exclusive footage for Killing Floor 2. To make things better, the rest of my NYCC crew had arrived on the scene, so covering the event was going to be a whole lot easier.
First thing on the agenda was a quick demo playthrough for Alien Isolation, which was just released recently. Everyone I knew has been raving about how good it was (or at least how good it was compared to Alien: Colonial Marines.) In Alien Isolation, it takes a more survival horror approach rather than an action shooter approach, as players have escaped the clutches of a SINGLE Xenomorph. While this single Xenomorph sounds like no big deal, the player only has their quick wits and whatever they can find lying around in the environment to protect them. There’s no health bar, as well. If you get attacked even once, it’s game over.
I did my best to escape the horrible beast, but even after trying to burn it with a flamethrower or hide away in a closet, the damn thing would still find me and tear me a new one. Still, I will admit that the most enjoyable part of the game wasn’t to see if I could escape the beast, but to see exactly how many different ways it would destroy me whenever it catches me. And man, each time it caught me, it performed a unique takedown almost every time. Overall, my small demo for Alien Isolation is an excellent horror title that really does justice for the Alien franchise.
After that, I hopped over to the Brave Frontier booth once more to see if I could snag an interview with the event staff to learn more about the game, but the booth was so packed and the staff was incredibly busy! With that said, sadly I had to reschedule for Saturday, instead. But on the upside, the event staff mentioned that the creator of Brave Frontier would be there tomorrow to sign autographs and answer questions, so perhaps getting an interview for Saturday will be worth all the delays.
There wasn’t a lot else going on for the day, so I had some time to kill… Time for more cosplay pictures!
One in particular that I REALLY loved was the League of Legends cosplay for Jinx.
Around 4 PM, it was time to meet up with the exhibit staff for an upcoming gaming service known as LiquidSky: A cloud-based gaming service that will allow gamers to play ANY kind of PC game on a mobile or tablet platform. When I first heard this claim, I couldn’t believe it, but it was true. They already have a handful of popular PC games like League of Legends and World of Warcraft running on their software. And the best part? The service is all browser based, so all you have to do is download a plugin on the LiquidSky website and you’re good to go.
This whole service really caught my interest, so I decided to interview the guys behind the service. They stated that the service is very young. So young that they only recently started the beta a couple of days ago and only a handful of people even know that the service exists. NY Comic-Con was basically their first introduction of the service to the world, and they were incredibly happy that we gave them the chance to get the word out. Expect our interview on LiquidSky very soon!
Time for more cosplay!
I still couldn’t get over how nice the Jinx cosplay. It was easily one of my favorites, second only to the Sub-Zero cosplay spotted.
This was a damn fine recreation of Sub-Zero, too. I have somewhat of a gut feeling that whoever is responsible for this Sub-Zero costume was also the same guy behind the equally as excellent Scorpion costume that I had laid eyes on from last year’s NYCC.
Last up: The Tripwire booth! My group was all ready and raring to go, eager to know anything and everything regarding the upcoming Killing Floor 2, but once again, we ran into some complications and delays! It turns out that the staff there had their hands tied with other appointments, even though we had one scheduled with them already. Sadly they had to reschedule us for tomorrow, but they promised us no delays or interruptions.
Other than that: There wasn’t anything else planned for the day, so I apologize to any readers for this daily recap. Saturday promises to be feature packed, and will be the most active event day in regards to attendee numbers, so look forward to all the action.
