Counter-Strike Nexon Zombies: Coming to Steam

CS Zombies

Nexon Europe is pleased to announce the arrival of the undead to one of gaming’s most iconic licenses, with the news of a Q3 2014 release of Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies on Steam. The free-to-play game will be available for players in Europe, North America, Oceania, and the CIS region, and will be serviced in English, German, French, Italian, Polish, and Russian.

Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is developed based upon Valve’s legendary online action game, Counter-Strike (CS). Expanding upon one of the top first-person shooter (FPS) titles in the world, Nexon teamed up with Valve to unleash a new zombie-themed, free-to-play CS title featuring new game modes, creatures, and more.

Now, the CS world is about to be infected with the introduction of the ultimate game-changer: zombies. Fast-paced, frenetic action awaits, as a wide variety of new weapons are added to the fray, with diverse game modes available, featuring countless undead. The zombies in the game are quick, aggressive, and dangerous, which makes for a completely new experience.

In addition to the new zombie based experience, players can also have the original Counter-Strike experience, through modes like Hostage Rescue and Bomb Diffusion, which makes strategic intelligence more important than ever. All modes of play feature the now legendary, adrenaline-pumping CS action.

“It is our pleasure to launch a free-to-play online version of the all-time favourite FPS via Steam. Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is a thrilling and easy-to-play game that reaches out to all players. Both players who are new to the game, as well as those that have been logging onto classic FPS games for years will be surprised with the new action it offers” said Kenny Chang, CEO of Nexon Europe.

“Today we are announcing the latest creation from Nexon in the Counter-Strike world, one that builds upon years of success in developing CS Online for Asia,” said Doug Lombardi of Valve. “This title showcases that work in new, zombie, and classic form.”

Cloud Chamber – Story-driven MMO now available

Cloud Chamber

Cloud Chamber is a new multiplayer game where players work collaboratively to unravel a mystery of murder, music and astrophysics. Starring Gethin Anthony (Game of Thrones) and Jesper Christensen (Quantum of Solace), it’s a story exploration game along the lines of Dear Esther or Gone Home, but where thousands of players join forces to solve the puzzle together.
The game follows the investigations of young scientist Kathleen Petersen into the Petersen Institute, one of Europe’s most prestigious scientific centres. While investigating the suspicious circumstances of her mother’s death there, Kathleen uncovers a skein of astonishing revelations about her father, the Institute and the existence of communicative rhythms in the fabric of space. Soon she’s faced with an impossible choice between loyalty to her family and a duty to pass on what seems to be a mysterious warning to mankind.

“Story games have always been single-player, graphical experiences – but the world is networked now, and it mixes media types all the time. We tried to make a story game that reflects that,” explained the game’s creative director, Christian Fonnesbech.

Lee Hutchinson of distributors Double Eleven said: “We are very happy to be distributing Cloud Chamber for PC and also to have played a small part in the production. It’s great to see such an amazing achievement knowing that it was once just a collection of thoughts in Christian’s head!”

“After 4 years on the project, the whole team has a bad case of stage fright right now – but the previews have really given us confidence,” said Christian Fonnesbech. “Journalists really seemed to enjoy the idea of piecing a complex story together in collaboration with others. Now, here comes the big one: what will the global gaming audience think of this new thing we have made? Are they ready? Are we? I don’t know.”

Already an award-winner after a successful beta in its native Denmark, Cloud Chamber is now available globally via Steam and other digital distributors, priced at $19.99.

Trion Worlds Launches Defiance: Silicon Valley

[Defiance] Silicon Valley_ Durango _ Hellion

Today, players of Defiance are treated to a new world expansion – Silicon Valley.

The valley is populated by Grind and Karl Von Bach’s “Pilgrims of the Guiding Light” cult, and its citizens have called to ark hunters for help. These story lines are playing out both in-game and in the SyFy show, as players experience new enemies, challenges, and rewards for free.

Key features of the update are:

World Expansion: Silicon Valley
Karl Von Bach and the Pilgrims of the Guiding Light eagerly await your arrival. Almost … too eagerly. The valley is still crawling with Grid and not all is what it seems. Unravel its mysteries from the eerie edge of Pacifica to cultist temples guarding key areas of interest on either side of the buckled San Andreas Fault!

[Defiance] Silicon Valley_ Vista 1

New Missions: The Guiding Light
Dive into five new missions exploring the perils of Silicon Valley and the cult that calls it home. Are the Pilgrims of the Guiding Light simply a New Earth oddity, or do they hold a sinister purpose?

New Dynamic Events: Invasions
The Grid are using converted 99ers to erect Evangel devices across the zone. These constructs, if left unchecked, will turn its key areas into hives of Grid activity. Can you stop the Grid before they conquer the valley?

New Synergies and Outfits: Corporate Espionage
We’re proud to introduce the Corporate Espionage Lock Box. Themed after the works of William Gibson, these lock boxes contain vanity outfits and headgear as well as weapons and shields loaded with three new synergies.

[Defiance] Silicon Valley_ Port Bruno Ambush

Firewall turns ark hunters into living tanks by boosting their defenses, Wetwork bolsters damage output for the user and their allies, and The Way of Change encourages players to swap between melee and ranged attacks, boosting damage to one when you use the other.

New Equipment Modifier: Encryption
Certain advanced weapons and shields will now drop with the Encrypted trait, which confers a 3% bonus to damage or capacity. Additionally, when the Salvage Matrix is used to increase the rarity level of a shield or weapon, it will become Encrypted. This can only happen once; the Salvage Matrix will not be able to increase the rarity level of items that are already Encrypted.

EGO Rating Cap: 5900
Max EGO rating has been increased to 5900, which is possible to achieve without completing all Pursuits. Fear not: When the max rating is increased again, any additional points you’ve earned will automatically be added to your rating!
