As  Black Gold Online  enters its second month of Open Beta testing, the team at Snail Games is happy to reveal a few quick peeks at what’s to come for the game in the coming months. Players can look forward to some exciting new features, including new maps, a higher level cap, and overall optimization of the game.

Black Gold Online went into Open Beta testing on June 20, and for over a month fans have been able to explore the unique world of steampunk and magic. The Open Beta features a number of core game elements, including 12 playable classes with a variety of unique abilities, a fast-paced action combat system, an impressive open world of explorable environments, organized PvP and PvE, and special mounted combat. In the first major update to the game, planned for later this Fall, these key features will see exciting changes and expansions.

Changes to come include:

• Level cap raised to 45, with new quests and activities to match
• New tier of skill upgrades as players power up their characters
• Expanded arsenal of gear with new T3 equipment types
• Cross-server PvP function for Arenas and Battlefields
• New world maps, instances, dungeons, and battlefields to be added
• Balancing and optimization improvements to be implemented

The update will be available as an automatic free download. Players with up-to-date game clients will be able to open the client and connect to the servers to automatically receive the newest content. The update will also be available for direct download.

As the story unfolds, players will tame and recruit from a choice of over 40 unique demon partners, each with their own class and appearance. Train them up through branching skill trees, carefully consider battle formations, and players can soon put together a formidable team capable of protecting – and even dominating – the entire underworld.

Red 5 Studios, Inc. announced today that Firefall, the open-world, massively multiplayer online (MMO) shooter, is officially available in North America, Europe, and Australia for the PC platform through Steam and Firefall.com.

Jagex Games Studio, makers of the multi-award winning fantasy MMORPG, RuneScape, has announced the successful integration of Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, into the game. The new feature allows RuneScape players to seamlessly live broadcast directly to Twitch from within the game with nothing more than a Twitch account. The integration of Twitch broadcasting and chat functionality coincides with the launch of a new arachnid combat boss character and creepy adventure into the game.

Guns of Icarus Online will be demoing new Co-op mode at PAX Prime this year. Co-op mode is a massive PvE expansion that is essentially a new game. Instead of battling player crew and ships, you’ll co-op with other players onboard multiple airships to fight against hoards of AI enemies, ranging from aeroplanes, carrier ships, entrenched defenses, or bosses in a variety of new game modes, such as Convoy, Defense, and Escort. Co-Op mode also introduces new progression and unlock systems, allowing players to join various factions to fight for control over the world as well as leveling different player classes and skills. For the first time, the world of Guns of Icarus will emerge. Many of these planned features will be available as improvements to the original game as well.
