Eldevin Desktop Client Released

Patch 1.16 for Eldevin has arrived, bringing new content, new systems and most importantly, the long-awaited Desktop Client for the game.

Previously Eldevin was only playable in-browser, but now players can experience the game in a way they haven’t been able to before now. The client also lays down some preparatory work for the hardware rendering engine, which will bring better graphics, a huge increase in framerate and improved overall performance. We expect to release the hardware renderer in a few weeks’ time, and it will in turn pave the way for Eldevin launching on Steam.

Along with the Desktop Client, Patch 1.16 also adds a Story Mode version to two of the game’s dungeons, giving players the option to enter a rebalanced version of the dungeon which can be completed solo and offering retuned loot appropriate to their level and challenge. We’ve already received good feedback about the Story Mode dungeons, and we plan to rework every dungeon in the game to offer a Story Mode version.

We’re also teasing some details about Patch 1.17, which is scheduled for next week, and will add mounts to the game. Players will be able to obtain mounts from a variety of places, both in-game and through the Eldevin store. We’ll be confirming exact details on these next week.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms: New Changes for Users Available

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon

Today, Ubisoft® announced a three-day Steam giveaway weekend, along with major changes to the Ghost Recon Phantoms experience with game update 1.2, available now. Three months after launch, Ghost Recon Phantoms has improved its new user gameplay experience, increasing its responsiveness, improving balance and making the overall experience more rewarding.

Based on feedback and lessons learned from launch, update 1.2 brings with it a list of weapon rebalancing and reactivity changes from basic running and reloading to ready time and device recharging time. Part of ongoing improvements all this month, these changes deliver tactical depth and increased responsiveness to help players face-off against even the most seasoned veterans.

These big changes don’t stop at game play, newcomers can progress five times faster with bigger level-up rewards and take home competitive weapons in the first five hours of gameplay. The Playlist allows them to train longer against each other before taking on seasoned veterans.

To celebrate these changes and welcome more friendly faces, Ghost Recon Phantoms has announced a special Steam offer for three days only. Download one free starter bundle every day from July 11 at 6pm UK Time until July 14 at 7.30am UK Time exclusively on Steam to receive up to three starter bundles (£24 value approx). Guild Wars 2 Tournament Goes Global at Gamescom

Guild Wars 2

ArenaNet, developer of the acclaimed Guild Wars franchise, today announced that gamescom 2014 will be the site of the first Guild Wars 2 International All-Stars Tournament pitting players versus players from North America, Europe and China. The PvP tournament marks the game’s first truly global competition by inviting players from China, where ArenaNet and Chinese game publisher KongZhong launched the game this past May.

ArenaNet is partnering with Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, to put on this year’s International All-Stars Tournament at gamescom, taking place August 14-17 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. There will be daily matches featured on the show floor at the Twitch booth and live streamed through both the Twitch main channel at twitch.tv and the Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel at twitch.tv/guildwars2.

“When it comes to competitive gaming, Twitch has established itself as the premiere destination for the industry’s most premium content,” said Jason Fletcher, Events BD Manager, EMEA, Twitch. “With ArenaNet using our platform and gamescom booth to broadcast their Guild Wars 2 event, it’s another example of how strong the esports content and community is on Twitch.”

As another first, ArenaNet is inviting fans from North America and Europe to vote on which players they want to see compete as All-Stars. Fans can choose from two pools of 16 qualified competitors from each region, with voting taking place at the tournament site starting today through July 17. For China, competitors are being chosen from KongZhong’s weekly tournament series. All Guild Wars 2 All-Stars will receive paid travel and accommodations to come compete at the tournament in Germany.

Arcade-Style Fantasy Action MMO, Rainbow Saga, Reveals Classes

Rainbow Saga Banner

NGames, a leading online games publisher, has today revealed the character classes for upcoming free-to-play fantasy action MMO, Rainbow Saga.

Coming soon to the burgeoning Game321.com portal, Rainbow Saga is an arcade-style 2D fantasy browser-based game packed with lovable characters, stunning artistic scenery and a compelling world brimming with adventure. Players journey across the colourful Troonmill continent as they fight to protect the sacred land from the evil Devil Lord. Exploring exciting dungeons with frenetic action, exploring a variety of wacky locations and teaming up with friends to tackle fun challenges is all in a day’s work for the heroes of Troonmill.

Rainbow Saga gives players a choice of three distinct classes: Elementalist, Holy Knight and Shadow Rangers; each offering unique approaches to the fun, fast-paced action.

Elementalist

Elementalists are powerful sorcerers of magic, capable of wiping out entire armies with their whimsical staffs and bags of tricks.

Elementalists overpower their opponents with a wide range of attack and team buff capabilities. Summoning massive energy waves to boost their team, calling upon Divine Arrows to cause holy damage to the enemy’s frontline, or simply using hypnosis to send opponents to sleep – an intelligent Elementalist can deal with any challenge the Devil Lord throws his or her way.

Elementalists are a medium difficulty character and a strong choice for players who prefer to use brains over brawn in battle.

Holy Knight

Fearless combatants who value honour above all, Holy Knights lead by example in Rainbow Saga and take control of battles by charging to the front line. Their heavy stone shields ensure strong protection for both themselves and their teammates, and a range of furious sword attacks soon have opponents running.

Holy Knights are pure warriors, utilizing skills such as Triple Hit and Flame Wave to inflict massive damage on their enemies. In tight spots, Holy Knights can call upon higher powers and activate Divine Defense and Sacred Storm skills to give themselves a combative edge against the Devil Lord’s minions.

Holy Knights are a perfect choice for beginners and players wanting a well-rounded character with equal attack and defense skills.

Shadow Ranger

Smart and dexterous, Shadow Rangers attack the Devil Lord’s minions from distance with power and accuracy. When the mysterious star they posses is activated, Shadow Rangers can strike with enough force to destroy entire armies before they ever get close.

Shadow Rangers attack with Star Darts and earn additional stars for successful strikes. Collect enough stars and powerful Starburst, Meteorite and Eclipse skills can be unleashed to devastating effect. They look great too – Shadow Rangers are the rock stars of the battlefield when they let loose.

This class is recommended for experienced players who prefer to manipulate battles to their own advantage from a distance.
