Doom Warrior: Now in Open Beta

Doom Warrior

Creaky Corpse are proud to announce the Doom Warrior has now entered Open Beta. This means that anyone can now play without needing one of those pesky beta keys, and the game is now available on Linux and MacOS. With the new influx of new players they expect the game to become far more challenging and exciting.

they’ve also recently released update V1.07 which made some major changes to the way game works for the better. So if you haven’t played in a while it may be a good time to give it another look.

Here are just some of the many changes:

Leagues
DW is now split into leagues based on your character level: Bronze (1-50), Silver (51-200), Gold (201-400) & Blood (401+). BP gains and losses only happen when fighting somebody from the same league and each league has it’s own weekly prizes of Darkstones, Artifacts and Grand Runes.

Fight Tokens
Free players now receive 1 token every 10 minutes (3x more than before) and gain an additional 3 tokens every level up. This makes the game far more balanced between free and paid players.

BLR

Seattle developer Zombie Studios is thrilled to announce the full release of their free-to-play, first-person shooter Blacklight: Retribution on the PlayStation 4, starting on Tuesday June 24th. Since the Beta launch in November, the game has seen a steady rise in its console player base, as Zombie has been addressing user feedback and tuning the game experience. Now that the title is going into full release, fans are going to see a lot of exciting changes, and release of new content. Director of Production, Andy Kipling, says “We are really excited to get the game out of Beta and introduce a whole lot of changes and improvements that we have been hard at work on since the game initially launched in November. Our community and fan feedback have been instrumental in helping us to get to where we are and we are excited to share those changes with everyone. I especially can’t wait to be able to finally earn trophies in Blacklight!”

Blacklight: Retribution will see two new PvP maps released, a smaller high combat intensity map called Outpost, and a larger one called Trench. The update will also include three new maps for Co-Op PvE mode: DeathMetal, Lockdown, and Terminus. Blacklight has been significantly optimized for better performance and higher frame rates, while the controls and aiming mechanics have been significantly overhauled and improved, based on player feedback. The introduction of a new weapon called the Compound Bow is sure to entice the fans, while streamers in Onslaught can now interact with their viewers via new streaming capabilities which enable viewers to vote on player mods that positively and negatively impact the streamer’s play experience. Producer, Kael Hammond, states “We did a lot of work during Beta to improve the overall user experience, from improving in-game performance across the board, to overhauling our entire menu system, improving our matchmaking and adding new features. The end result is a vastly improved game experience that we believe all Blacklight players – from longtime fans to new users – will find vastly more fun, enjoyable and accessible.”

Wargaming to Support Series of Restorations at Bovington Tank Museum

Wargaming

Wargaming today unveiled details of its presence at the annual Tankfest, taking place at The Tank Museum in Bovington, England, on June 28 and 29. The company is raising funds to support vehicle restorations at the museum and will reveal its brand new mobile gaming unit, a WWII MGT-20 truck, at the event.

Wargaming organized an in-game special ahead of the military festival, inviting World of Tanks players to purchase a series of premium shop packages from June 21–22, from which the proceeds will go towards restoration projects at Bovington, including repairs of the British Comet tank, the Allied M4 Sherman tank, and the mighty German Jagd Kanonon tank destroyer.

“Wargaming has a long history of collaboration with The Tank Museum in Bovington. We both believe that legendary military warfare has great historic value and should be preserved for future generations,” said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. “This year we’ve offered our players a chance to contribute to the restoration of the museum’s collections, and have been overwhelmingly impressed with their enthusiasm. Seeing our community so eager to participate in such projects allows us to plan for future efforts in supporting events like these.”

Along with announcing its donation, Wargaming will officially open the Company’s MGT-20 event truck. The vehicle will be equipped with gaming stations and Xbox 360 consoles ready and waiting for players to come and test out World of Tanks and World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. Other community events at Tankfest will include raffles, trivia games, Q&A sessions with developers, and giveaways for players.
