Camelot Unchained Introduces New Community Manager, Delays BSC Days

This afternoon, City State Entertainment held a Pre-BSC Reveal livestream event on Twitch for Camelot Unchained.

The event led off with a pre-recorded video of Mark Jacobs to announce and introduce the new Community/Partner Relations employee, Jenesee Grey. Jenesee managed the Grey Area Podcast, and was most recently Media Director for the CastAR augmented reality glasses.

CU Jenesee Grey

Jacobs explained that while the previous Community Manager, Renée Machyousky, was loved and did an excellent job, she had to move back to Washington and the team needed someone to work in-office to be able to work with the developer team on a face-to-face basis. The remainder of the stream was a short live Q&A session with Jenesee to allow the community to get to know her better.

Yesterday, City State Entertainment announced that the BSC Days had to be delayed until early July. The delay is due to a client-side technical issue that leaves the game in a state that Jacobs does not believe is running “well enough” for internal testers.

As an apology, CSE will grant all backers a digital statue of a bat, wearing a “tiara of shame,” to display in their virtual homes in the game. They will also add Founders Points to the accounts of all Founders once the BSC event begins, promising $10 per Founder minimum and an additional $5 for each additional week the team is late. Builders will get additional items added to their Welcome Pack, with an additional item each week the team continues to be late. In the meantime, the team is looking at adding even more content to the BSC event for backers to enjoy.

Skara: The Blade Remains – In Final Phase to Full Release

Skara: The Blade Remains

After only 10 months working with Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, Skara —The Blade Remains, a free-to-play multiplayer online game, is preparing to release on Steam Early Access in July.

Skara – The Blade Remains will combine elements from multiple genres, including:

  1. RPGs – skill trees, experience and rich background
  2. Fighting – timing and accuracy, combos and fatalities
  3. MOBAs – arenas, coordination among the players and frenetic action

Because it incorporates so many features from various genres, Skara – The Blade Remains does not fit in any one single category, so the developer has labelled the title a Multiplayer Online Versus title, or a MOV.

Skara – The Blade Remains can support as small as one versus one duals and up to 16 player battles, competing for dominance in a fantasy filled world racked by cosmic disaster.

Players choose any of five classes and can customize their character’s appearance, equipment and fighting style. Gamers also decide with whom they will team and create their own factions inside every class. The teams then fight as one with the goal of dominating arenas, expanding their territories and gaining renown in the world of Skara. The best players will be immortalized as heroes and kings, writing history with their successes and failures.

The question for players is…How long can they stay alive in Skara – The Blade Remains

Hazard Ops: New PvP Modes for Closed Beta

Hazard Ops

After a successful first two weeks in closed beta, the first update to the brutal third-person shooting game, Hazard Ops is now live. Appropriately named “Massacre”, Infernum have provided 6 new maps and the opportunity for mercenaries to face their peers in two new PvP modes, Deathmatch and Defusion. Now Infernum plan to intensify the war effort further, as more recruits are set be allowed into the beta and sent to the battlefield in the coming days. Applications for the closed beta are still being accepted via www.hazardops.com

The Defusion mode offers up an experience which should be familiar to all. Two teams face off – one is carrying a bomb, the other tasked with bringing them down to avoid a terrible catastrophe. Arm or defuse?

However, cooperation is thrown out the window upon entering a Deathmatch lobby. No more cross-fire, no more strategies and no more allies – only foes. It’s a total free-for-all and only the most skilled will rise and shine above the fallen.

These two game modes are available on most of the battlefields in the game, including the 6 new maps released today. These combat zones offer an urban and industrial touch to Hazard Ops. From the heat of a foundry to the nerve-racking long corridors of a mall, mercenaries will have to tread carefully.
