New Race Playable Today in Neverwinter

Neverwinter Dragon Mount

An apology has been issued by Perfect World Entertainment today. Yesterday Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios announced the meta-fantastic event Respen’s Marvelous Game now occurring in Neverwinter, with more information here, because it cannot be stated enough, it is a real event playable now. That said bigger news was hiding in the wings. On the scale of announcements, this one is a monster. The Cryptic team was waiting for the right moment to announce the next playable race, but rather than let it drag on any longer, now is when they announce this behemoth piece of news.

The next playable race in Neverwinter, and now playable starting today, April 1, 2014, is Dragons, the long-standing foes (and sometimes pals) in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.

Neverwinter Dragon

“All of our dungeons are playable,” says Andy Velasquez, Lead Producer on Neverwinter, “so why not dragons?” With the infallible logic of only a Lead Producer, Cryptic Studios worked to bring this new race to the game. Starting out as a Dragonling, players will grow as they level up, eventually becoming a gigantic Dragon, playable in all classes and able to equip all fashion items and ride all mounts.

It hasn’t been all fun and games bringing the Dragon race to Neverwinter. Team members and developers worked hard to scale various pointed hats and fashion items to the Dragon rig, but the end results have been pretty fabulous. “I think we’ve done a pretty good job,” says Lead Artist Matt Highison. The developers agree that the sight of a dragon riding a horse mount brings a delicate je ne sais quoi unrivaled in pretty much any MMO ever made. More information can be found HERE.

Clancraft Brings a Browser Fairy Tale World To Life April 4th

Clancraft Charger

Gogogogo.com, a premier game portal for MMOs big and small, is pleased to announce their newest title, Clancraft!  A browser game that is a cross between town building and simulation, the game features classic artwork inspired by European fairy tales.  But don’t think these cutesy characters can’t cause some serious carnage!  Players can leap straight into the open beta which starts April 4th at https://www.facebook.com/clancraftofficial

Taking its cues from other town/base building games such as Clash of Clans, Clancraft adds in a broader combat system, a deeper PVE story, and a more meaningful town construction system.  Whether you’re gathering resources, pitting your troops against a fierce enemy, or building the ultimate base, there’s always something to do in Clancraft!

Quests are divided into three broad categories: dailies (which can be repeated day after day), while combat missions will suggest PVE content appropriate for your level.  Finally, Town quests will give suggestions for what would be best to build next – this way players will never feel lost or like they have no direction.

Clancraft Towns

Clancraft also offers a more meaningful friend system than other base building games; the more friends you have, and the more you interact with them, the more energy you will accrue, which means you can continue playing the game for a much longer time than other browser titles!

Ready for battle?  Troops can be trained, upgraded, and combined together in a variety of ways to make the ultimate fighting unit.  Then, on the field of battle, launch your allies down three rows of battle while the AI enemy does the same.  It’s up to the player to skilfully launch a variety of units across the battlefield and ensure that anything thrown their way from the enemy is swiftly punished.  Winning fights not only nets the winning player resources and bragging rights, but can also unlock additional, elite units!

Clancraft is a new type of browser title, combining together flawlessly base building, combat, questing, and much more!  Available to play now in closed beta, players can try out the game via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/clancraftofficial or on the Gogogogo.com portal.

War of the Vikings to Sell Guaranteed Entry to Valhalla with New DLC

War of the Vikings April Fools

Paradox Interactive has chosen April 1st, the commonly accepted date of Thor’s birthday, to announce a new DLC pack for their forthcoming close-combat game, War of the Vikings. The new content, titled “Godlike Warriors,” adds a selection of new perks and abilities to in-game combatants, allowing players to demonstrate their ability to earn the gods’ favor in the form of superhuman feats. Godlike Warriors will be available to purchase soon, with a date to be set once the future can be foretold by Paradox’s in-house soothsayer.

Godlike Warriors will define new frontiers of realism in War of the Vikings, with the gods’ favors separating the true warriors destined for Valhalla from the rest of the casual scum. Players who the gods have chosen to buy Godlike Warriors will gain the ability “Godlike Fury,” turning their ranged attacks into an onslaught of weaponized wrath; “Godlike Ascension,” which keeps warriors in the fight with new map-traversal abilities; and access to an exclusive in-game blunt weapon worthy of Thor himself.

Thor’s Birthday, which commemorates the thunder god’s triumph over the trickster Loki, is celebrated by only being honest and forthright, and exclusively saying completely true things. Pre-orders for Godlike Warriors are available by sacrificing the choicest goat from a player’s herd and funneling the smoke into a USB port.

War of the Vikings is available through Steam’s Early Access program now: http://warofthevikings.com/buy

Shikihime Garden

Appirits, the Japanese game developer and publisher has recently announced a Limited Edition of the extremely rare Shikihime card: Kurakakemiya for their hybrid browser-based casual game of card & simulation Shikihime Garden on April 1st 2014.

At the present, there are 7 races of Shikihime (female units) that players can summon by using Power (charged points) or combining from other normal cards through Unity feature. Lately a Limited Edition of the extremely rare Shikihime card named Kurakakemiya has been added to the Shikihime roster. This card is taken from the well-known tale of nine-tail fox in Japanese folk tales. Wearing an attractive Japanese costume with a super cute bell around her neck, Kurakakemiya Limited Edition surely brings a new spirit to players’ current garden. Though her initial stats are slightly lower than normal Kurakakemiya, her summon rate using Gold Summon is much higher.

Appirits also emphasized that the limited edition will be available for Gold Summon only for 1 week after its release. And players who successfully summon Kurakakemiya Limited Edition for the first time will be rewarded one special gift to decorate their garden. The Repopulation: End of March 2014 Update

The Repopulation

On April 1st, The Repopulation Dev Team has posted a new development recap for March 2014, with some rather interesting changes.

  • Added audio support for karaoke machines; all players in the vicinity will hear you.
  • Major audio track changes made: players can choose alternate tracks instead of the current ‘mood music’ for battle and crafting. Choices include Top 40 Elevator Tracks, Justin Bieber’s complete playlist, 70’s TV hits including the monkees and the partridge family as well as theme songs for Hogan’s Heroes and Gilligan’s Island.
  • Due to copyright infringement, Rick Astley songs have been removed.
  • Known Bugs: We are aware that the alternative tracks of music are all stuck on Kids Bop (albums 1 through 87) and are working on the issue.
  • Hired John Cleese for voice overs.
  • We decided to implement an API for Google and Facebook so they can monitor your ingame shopping behavior and social activities. We will use this data for our in-game vendors to send you targeted offers and to suggest new friends to you that match your profile, also outside the game. We will not use this information for our cash-shop offers … honestly!
  • We finally got around to implementing anti-cheat software. This is a DLL that is hooked when the client is started. You will hardly notice it’s there and it’s limited to only scan your process-list, hard-drive, email, twitter, facebook, google+, linkedin, surfing behavior and geographical location for your client computer and all devices attached to your network over cable, wifi or bluetooth. To fund new features, we will sell this data to the highest bidder. Every 60 seconds it will take a snap via your webcam to verify that you are the actual account owner. All this just to protect you.
  • Fixed a few things that were working as intended. Good luck finding them. Job security!
  • Found a bug in the chip cloning procedures, which explains the 200 Agent Smith’s in game. We have no idea how to fix it. Can someone call Neo please?
