Neverwinter: Elemental Evil Coming Early 2015
Today, Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a leading publisher of free-to-play MMORPGs, and Cryptic Studios announced Neverwinter: Elemental Evil – the newest module for the action MMORPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe from Wizards of the Coast. Following the launch of Neverwinter: Elemental Evil, Cryptic Studios will release modules later in 2015 with highly requested additions including Strongholds and well-known characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore.
With the largest update to-date, Neverwinter: Elemental Evil brings a new playable class – the Paladin – that increases the playable classes count to eight. Players looking to create Paladins will be able to choose a focus on healing or tanking builds. The new module will also increase the level cap from 60 to 70, which brings a new set of quests, feats and slottable class feature powers.
Neverwinter: Elemental Evil also continues the partnership with Wizards of the Coast as Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment maintain a one-to-one release cadence with the official D&D storylines. Neverwinter players will journey through new adventures as they fight the newest threat to Protector’s Enclave – the Cults of Elemental Evil – which are also present in the upcoming tabletop adventure release, Princes of the Apocalypse.
Cryptic studios will be integrating several anticipated features and content updates through future module releases in 2015. Within the calendar year, players will interact with iconic characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore and step foot into their own Strongholds – the Neverwinter version of guild housing. Cryptic will also be launching Neverwinter on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, planned in early 2015. More details on these game features and the Xbox One release will be shared at a later date.

Elvenar: Closed Beta Now Underway
Today, InnoGames launched the closed beta of its online fantasy game Elvenar. The strategic city builder will start with a moderate number of people to ensure server stability, before more keys will be given out to interested players. In order to join the beta as one of the first, pre-registered players, gamers should check for an email containing their beta key. InnoGames is also giving out the first batches of keys via social media pages, such as Facebook.
Elvenar’s closed beta will start with the online browser version; mobile versions are planned to follow at a later date. The German developer is treading uncommon ground with Elvenar: Players have to choose between Elves or Humans as a starting race in order to create a flourishing city. The game’s focus lies on building and upgrading a city, but players also trade or explore the world map. The choice between Elves and Humans influences the way the players’ cities and inhabitants look and which technologies and units are at their disposal. The Elves live and breathe magic and exist in close harmony with nature, whereas Humans are ambitious and determined engineers.
Between managing resources, levelling up buildings and unlocking new perks, players should also pay attention to the multiplayer map. There they can interact with neighbors, scout new provinces and unlock various powerful relics by fighting NPCs or trading. Fights take place on various battlegrounds. The strategic battles are 3D-animated, with up to 20 different monsters and unit types, which make each encounter unique and tactically deep.

Supreme League of Patriots: Coming January 29th
Phoenix Online Publishing and No Bull Intentions invite you to don your cape and mask and join the Supreme League of Patriots in this hilarious and irreverent superhero comedy adventure! The first game from developer No Bull Intentions, all three issues of Supreme League will be releasing on January 29th for PC, Mac and Linux on Steam, and the Phoenix Online Store for $14.99 as a season pass, and $5.99 individually, and pre-orders of the game are available now at a 10% discount. The new trailer can be seen here: http://youtu.be/yTadcMfsYkE.
Poking fun at pop culture, politics, reality TV and more, Supreme League of Patriots invites players to join Kyle Keever in his politically incorrect quest to win a spot on the newest hit reality TV show, America’s Got Superpowers. When a freak accident turns Kyle’s alter-ego, the Purple Patriot, into his main ego and triggers real superpowers at the cost of his sanity (and good taste), Kyle’s got a new mission to become the hero New York deserves, and definitely not the one it wants. Navigating a twisted world of vigilantes and villains with his cheeky and sarcastic sidekick Mel, Kyle’s got a lot to learn about the world of superheroes!
Key Features:
- Three episodes of fully-voiced satirical superhero antics
- Discover, befriend and declare your enemies from the city’s zany and colorful cast of superheroes and archenemies
- Two playable characters: Kyle Keever aka The Purple Patriot and his sarcastic sidekick Mel
- Tiered hint system to make the game as challenging as you want it to be
- Fantastic original soundtrack composed by Jake “Virt” Kaufman
- Fight for something resembling justice from the sewers of New York to the theatres of Broadway!
“I’m a huge fan of classic point-and-click adventures. I wanted to take that classic gameplay and fuse it with the satirical, subversive humor you expect from Family Guy or South Park, and the high production values you associate with modern adventures,” said Creative Director Philip Ings. “The Purple Patriot is such a thoroughly obnoxious, yet hopelessly inept, character. I can’t wait to see how people react to him.”
