Seafight: Celebrates 9th Birthday
With the pirate MMO Seafight turning nine years old, there’ll be a non-stop party at the HQ of the online gaming giant Bigpoint. Of course, this momentous occasion will also be celebrated in the game with a big birthday event. More than 42 million registered players can look forward to receiving a rare pet that everyone who logs into the game on March 18th will receive. With this unique companion, players will receive 10% more gold when defeating monsters as well as an additional boost to their voodoo points.
“Due to the fact that our players love a challenge, we’ve added a new game mechanism to the birthday event this year – the challenge mode,” explains Jan Yves Josten, the Producer of Seafight. Thanks to this new feature, players can choose which difficulty level they’d like to compete at on the new boss map (aka “dungeon”) during the birthday event. Depending on the level of difficulty selected, there will be extraordinary rewards and ranking points for all players. A gigantic end boss will also be waiting to finish off the event.
Seafight is the perfect example of a long-running and successful action game: “There are only a few online games which can maintain constant success over a nine-year period,” says Producer, Josten. “We owe this success to our passionate players for whom we develop new and exciting content and events on a weekly and monthly basis. We’ve thought up some nice things with which to surprise our dedicated community in the upcoming months.”
With around 30 team members, Seafight’s development team based in Hamburg, Germany, tries to closely coordinate with the fan community as much as possible. The results of which are new and thrilling quests, regular tournaments with prizes as well as new ships and equipment with which to survive PvE and PvP battles.
Since recently introducing the so-called Transmo System, players have been able to set-up their ships quicker and more easily than ever before. PvP fighters regularly compete against thousands of opponents in the Clash event as well in the Marauders’ Days event. For those who want to join in the birthday event, “The Hunt for Typhon”, simply log into www.seafight.com from March 18th.

Crowfall: Now On Kickstarter’s Top 20 Most Funded Games
Independent game developer ArtCraft Entertainment, Inc. announced today that Crowfall™, the highly-anticipated “Throne War Simulator” MMO, is now one of the 20 highest-funded video game projects ever on kickstarter.com. Additionally, the campaign is the most funded video game of the past 12 months, amassing more than $1.2 million from more than 12,500 backers with a week left in the campaign.
Co-founder and Creative Director J. Todd Coleman explains, “Kickstarter remains the unchallenged leader when it comes to crowdfunding for games. Crowfall’s success confirms that the right team, with the right vision, can still incite passion and gain significant momentum.”
On to the strength of this campaign, the company also announced today the hiring of well-known community developer Valerie “Pann” Massey, who formerly served as the senior director of public relations and communication at CCP Games (creators of the venerable EVE Online).
“Our vision is to create a game that feels like a blend between EVE Online and Game of Thrones. Valerie’s experience with EVE Online makes her the perfect person to help us build this community,” said ArtCraft’s Co-founder and President Gordon Walton. “Her experience and our game are a perfect fit.”
Massey will take the role of director of community management, acting as a customer advocate and key liaison to the burgeoning Crowfall community. “When it came to MMOs, I felt like the magician’s assistant who has seen the lady get sawed in half too many times,” explained Massey. “The magic was gone. But when I heard about the concept for Crowfall, I saw something unique on the horizon at last. I had to be a part of it.”
A new type of online experience, Crowfall is a “Massively Multiplayer Online Throne War Simulator.” Players take the role of kings, queens, mercenaries and assassins in a simulation of a feudal world that includes castle building, siege equipment and territorial conquest system.
Founded by two of the most experienced executives in the history of online gaming, ArtCraft Entertainment is the combined effort of J. Todd Coleman (director, Shadowbane, Wizard101, Pirate101) and Gordon Walton (executive producer, Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars: the Old Republic). The stated goal of ArtCraft Entertainment is to “push the design of Massively Multiplayer Online games in bold new directions.”

Global Strike: Mutant Mode Now Available
Mutation mode in Global Strike is ready to bring more interesting gameplay content to players. Players will be infected and turned into mutants randomly. As the mode is named, mutation, the mutants play a key role in this mode. When the number of mutants reach the requirement, all mutant players will gain certain attribute bonuses. Let’s take a look at the brand new mutation mode!
After entering the mutant faction, when the player’s mutant reaches the growth condition, it will change into a matrix.
The matrix’s HP, ATK and Jump ability are better than normal mutants. It also knows other human players’ location. The matrix is the only mutant that cannot grow. The matrix’s strength lies in its strong Shield, which reduces damage and increases its speed dramatically. Considering that it has strongest overall ability among all of the mutants, it must be the strongest enemy to the human heroes.
When the matrix appears, players can check its location in the map. That is convenient for the human faction to find and attack the matrix.
Gale Monster: It is a speed-based mutant, possessing the charging skill. It can run to a target instantly. When it gets close to a player, you must move away quickly to open fire on it. You have to know that it moves extremely fast. It can move towards you and infect you before you know it.
When you are chosen as a mutant, don’t panic! Just enjoy the unique view as a boss and find your prey. Your mission is to find the hidden humans, get close to them and infect them. All you need to do is catch them with your claws and then they will be infected!
Don’t be disappointed if you are not chosen as a mutant! Maybe, you will be a predator next time. Moreover, the humans also have the evolving ability. No matter which type of mutants they are, they can only use their claws for melee attack. If you are wanting to defeat the mutants players can try long-range fire!

Elsword: Add Gains New Time Tracer Advanced Class
KOG Games, a leading developer and publisher of popular free-to-play action MMORPGs, today announces the launch of Elsword’s new job path for Add dubbed Time Tracer. A psychotic tale of time-travel, technology and turmoil; the class update opens the third and final chapter in the Elsword Darkness is Coming series.
A tale of the twisting of a mind that would drive even the most grounded of heroes to their knees with madness. From this madness echoes Add’s new Job path and continued story-arch for the delightfully twisted character. Time Tracer opens the third and final chapter in the Elsword Darkness is Coming series, and like many recent Darkness updates, Add’s story casts some shadow onto what is already a morbid allegory, and pushes the boundaries of genius beyond the brink of insanity.
One huge advantage Add has over every other character in Elsword is that he effectively has two MP bars and the Time Tracer Job takes Add to a whole new level. Thanks to the Time Tracer Job’s Passive Skill “Nasod Armor Mode – Overlimit”, Add is able to toggle between two combat modes: Configuration Mode and Dissolution Mode. Configuration Mode allows Add to use DP instead of MP when using skills. Dissolution Mode enables Add to use MP instead of DP. This passive also has an added bonus: every time a player uses a skill, it will refund back a set amount of MP or DP by factoring what mode they are in and what skills were used. Thanks to this, Time Tracer can cast way more skills than any other class can ever hope to achieve!
To kick off the content launch, players can look for a special Add character boost and an exclusive DLC pack free for the weekend on Steam!
In Elsword, gamers can choose from nine specialized and customizable characters as they explore an immersive world and battle rivals to complete dynamic quests. As players progress through the game, they can evolve their fighting styles by upgrading to new job classes, learning deadly new abilities and mastering combo attacks. With intuitive and straightforward controls, Elsword offers players of all skill levels the ability to experience the thrill of victory in combat either on solo missions or cooperatively in a party of up to four players. For those who welcome a challenge, Elsword also delivers action-packed PvP combat.
