XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a 3D strategy sci-fi game developed by Firaxis Games and is available on PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam. Players will be put in control of a militaristic organization tasked with defending the Earth from invading aliens. Management and minute decisions will both need to be made on the player, from base construction and resource management right down to squad and unit tactics when in battle. Your soldiers get promotions as they gain experience and can be managed or recruited through the Barracks back at your base before being sent out to rid the Earth of the alien scourge. By maintaining your soldiers and resources you could very well save the world!
Features:
Diverse Camera Angles: Camera angles are given special attention during combat events, really helping you get into the action and become more attached to your units.
Customizable Base: You can customize the layout of your base with newly constructed/upgraded areas. Even your soldiers that you’ve grown accustomed to seeing in combat will be seen interacting in your base.
Tactical Gameplay: When fighting battles you will direct your soldiers in turn-based combat, choosing from a variety of orders for them to carry out like moving a large distance, moving a shorter distance while shooting, or using an ability.

Crowfall reaches $2 million in funding
Independent game developer, ArtCraft Entertainment, Inc. today announced that the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game, Crowfall™, has amassed more than two million dollars crowdfunding, following on the success of their Kickstarter campaign earlier this year.
Equally impressive, the campaign continues to pull in a record dollars-per-backer amount, amassing this sum from more than 19,000 individuals. The company’s founders, J. Todd Coleman (creative director, Shadowbane, Wizard101, Pirate101) and Gordon Walton (executive producer, Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars: The Old Republic) attribute this to Crowfall’s unique vision—a blend between a large-scale feudal strategy game and a traditional MMO.
“We weren’t sure what would happen post-Kickstarter. We knew that we would offer pledge bundles on our website, but would they get any traction?” mused Coleman, who also serves as Crowfall’s creative director. “Obviously we hoped so, since the additional funding will only serve to make the game that much better, but would it grow or flatline? We had no idea what to expect.”
“The answer is: our momentum is growing,” added Executive Producer Gordon Walton. “In terms of overall pledges, total number of backers, and web traffic; every week is bigger than the previous.”
A new type of online experience, Crowfall is a “Massively Multiplayer Online Throne War Simulator.” Players take the role of kings, queens, mercenaries and assassins in a simulation of a feudal world.
Crowfall offers three core areas of conflict: military strength (building castles and conquering territory), political power (forging alliances and attracting a hierarchy of vassals) and economic might (crafting goods and building a merchant empire). Surpassing the $2 million threshold also unlocked the latest in a series of stretch goals: the Shadow, an additional campaign ruleset that offers a new range of guild-focused PvP (Player-versus-Player) mechanics.

Destiny: The Taken King Announced
Bungie and Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), announced The Taken King, a major expansion and by far the largest addition to the Destiny universe yet. Building upon Destiny, the biggest new video game franchise launch in history, The Taken King grows the universe with the first full destination to be added to the game since launch, an all-new campaign, three new Guardian subclasses, a massive arsenal of new armor, weapons and exotics, new Strikes and Crucible maps, a new Raid that will put players to the ultimate test, and more. The Taken King will be available world-wide on September 15, 2015.
“The Taken King is the next evolution of the saga, kicking off another great year of Destiny,” said Harold Ryan, president of Bungie. “What’s exciting for the studio is to continue to open new experiences for our existing, passionate community and to welcome new players to Destiny. We’ve loved listening to players’ reaction so far and have provided nearly 30 updates along the way to continue to grow the universe. Our active players are still spending about three hours a day playing so it’s important we give them a world to engage with and surprise them with new activities in The Taken King in September.”
“The Taken King takes everything that was great about Destiny, and makes it even better,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “Our partners at Bungie have created something very special with this universe, and have also done a great job listening to our community as this saga continues to unfold. We are excited for the next chapter.”
For new and existing Guardians ready to jump into the Destiny universe or continuing to carve their legends in the stars, the Legendary Edition is the ultimate place to start year two and includes content and updates for: Destiny, Expansion I: The Dark Below, Expansion II: House of Wolves, and features The Taken King. At launch PlayStation® gamers will also get access to a host of additional content for The Taken King, including a Strike, a Crucible map, three sets of gear and an exotic weapon, exclusive until Fall 2016.
Every Guardian class will get access to a third subclass with the purchase of The Taken King, and will be showcased through competitive multiplayer with two new modes and four new maps at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo) taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 16-18.
The Taken King is rating pending by the ESRB, and will be available for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system (PlayStation Plus required for some features), PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft (Xbox Live Gold required for some features) on September 15, 2015.
