Dirty Bomb Containment War Update Drops In

Dirty Bomb Containment War Update Drops In news header

Dirty Bomb, the free-to-play online shooter developed by Splash Damage® Ltd., will launch its biggest update yet, “Containment War”, on Wednesday. The update provides a wealth of new content for players, including a Molotov-wielding Mercenary equipped to resupply allies with a deployable ammo station, the all-new Execution mode and maps and the eagerly anticipated Dome map for Objective and Stopwatch, as well as limited-edition Containment War Loadout Cards to be collected and an updated profile page to show off your stats. As an added bonus, players who get in on the Dirty Bomb action between Wednesday, Oct. 28 and Wednesday, Nov. 4 will permanently unlock recently released medic Phoenix for free.

Execution Mode is introduced in the Containment War update and features two new maps, Overground and Market. In this single-life mode, players battle it out over twelve rounds with the objective of eliminating the enemy team or destroying a section of the massive ‘Containment Shield’ by planting a bomb.

The new content also includes the colossal Dome map for Objective and Stopwatch mode, and the addition of an all new Mercenary, Stoker, giving Dirty Bomb players the choice from among 17 Mercs to build out their squad. Some of the most recently added Mercs include:

  • Stoker: A disruptive force on the battleground, Stoker can close down chokepoints with Molotov grenades and resupply allies with a deployable ammo station.
  • Phoenix: An offensive-minded healer with self-revival and healing abilities enabled by nanite technology.
  • Phantom: A terrifying Recon Merc with a refractive armor suit that allows him to turn invisible in battle and close in for the kill with his Katana.
  • Red Eye: A medium range marksman who tactically uses smoke grenades and his infrared goggles to spot enemies on the field.
  • Sparks: A not-so traditional healer who comes equipped with a gun that can revive teammates and cause enemy damage from a distance.

Additionally, this update brings limited-edition event Loadout Cards, which provide Containment War character and weapon skins. The event cards are available for the 30 days following the release of the update, and can be obtained in three ways: CW Equipment Cases give a 0.3% chance of scoring a Containment War Loadout Card, CW Elite Cases have a 10% chance, or purchase a bundle of 10 Elite Cases for a bonus CW Event Case that guarantees a Containment War Loadout Card.

While the Containment War Update is the biggest since the Dirty Bomb Open Beta began, new features and gameplay improvements have continually been added this year based on feedback from the community, including load-out card purchasing up to Bronze with in-game currency, matchmaking improvements and private matches, surrender & restart functionality, a report-a-player feature, a new anti-cheat system and more.

“The love, the swearing, the passion, the rage… Dirty Bomb‘s Open Beta phase has been emotional. But it’s this emotion from our players that tells us the fight for improvement is worth it, and why this is our biggest update yet,” said Neil Alphonso, lead designer on Dirty Bomb. “We’re grateful to everyone telling us what they love or what they’d like to see improved so far. In an expanding universe of team-based shooters, we’re committed to giving hardcore PC players something a bit different for years to come.”

Gunscape to Deliver a Horrifying Shock to Systems

Just in time for Halloween, Blowfish Studios has announced Gunscape fans will have the opportunity to create, play and share their very own terrifying sci-fi levels with Seismic, the first piece of post-launch DLC planned for the first-person shooter and world-building hybrid.

Players who download the theme will be able to construct and explore their very own space stations gone awry, complete with highly-aggressive escaped test animals, rampaging robots and mutated abominations.

Featuring a number of sci-fi horror themed props, such as mutilated bodies, egg pods, terminals and a morally questionable A.I., players will have all of the tools they need to craft their own stories about what caused a normal space station to turn into a pocket of hell in space.

The theme will also come with an assortment of exclusive weapons, including a Suffocation Glove that will essentially force choke biological enemies the longer they remain in players’ crosshairs, an EMP Glove that can stun mechanical enemies, a Space Pistol that fires a plasma blast with a small explosion on impact and any sci-fi themed content wouldn’t be complete without a Laser Sword.

Gunscape is currently in Early Access on the PC, with the full version set to release simultaneously in Q1 2016 for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U, whereupon it will become the first game to offer sharable user made content across all of those platforms.

The Seismic DLC will release three months after Gunscape and cost $3.99 for the whole pack, with each individual piece in the set costing between 15 and 70 cents.

Elsword's 11 Day Halloween Extravaganza Starts Now news header

KOG Games, a leading developer and publisher of popular free-to-play action MMORPGs, today announces the start of their yearly and highly anticipated Halloween Dungeon and Event launch.

Obnoxiously sexy costumes, the visceral art of how best to throw away candy corn and the newest iteration of the “I know what you screamed last paranormal the 13th” movie aren’t the only things to look forward to this Halloween. Elsword‘s latest and greatest of Halloween merriment shines like the harrowing eyes of some unknown horror just outside your window, or an eerily pale, wailing, long-haired child crawling down the hallway towards you on its elbows at breakneck speed. Ok… well, it’s not that bad, but hey!

Here’s what you need to know about Elsword’s new Halloween Dungeon ‘Candy House in the Woods’:

  • Get in with a Candy Basket being Lv. 10 and up: Players can already get the Candy Basket dungeon ticket item via the NPC Ariel in the ongoing pre-Halloween event. Of course, you’ll also get a couple of these baskets daily for the next 2 weeks. Just play every day
  • A Challenge for the Sweet Tooth: Who says sweet can’t be scary? This Halloween dungeon is a combination of both sweet and scary; filled with treats but positively frightening. Once you’re in, watch out for in-game prompts, and get ready to face an incubus, a lot of gingerbread baddies, and the Witch that’s orchestrating this nightmare!
  • Gather Witch’s Rings for Halloween Costumes and more: By defeating the dungeon boss, you get to pick up this an awesome event item. They can be collected and exchanged via the NPC Ariel for various useful items, Halloween costume pieces, and even the new HellHound mount!

Aside from being axed in the noggin’ by some slasher fiend on the scariest night of the year, one of the most stressful things about Halloween is finding a costume. However, Elsword has you covered.
Steam players pay attention! There will be a very special, exclusive Elsword DLC event launching next week that will keep you looking absolutely fabulous while trick-or-treating and chasing down candy obsessed witches in Elsword. Keep your eyes on the Elsword Steam page for more details coming soon.

Get in-game, don your costumes and take a jaunt through the candy-coated spooktacular new Elsword Halloween Dungeon.

Gloria Victis Begins UI Overhaul Tests

Gloria Victis Begins UI Overhaul Tests news header

Gloria Victis has entered the final straight with the massive UI overhaul. The intensive final tests have been started few days ago, so the players can expect implementation of reworked inventory and guilds system, alongside with the new NPC shops interface, within the very next few weeks.

The update greatly increases the game’s interface functionality while making it much more user-friendly, as it introduces numerous features requested by players, i.e. an ability to expand the inventory space with additional bags and backpacks, a buy-back tab and the assortment filters in NPC shops window or a mouse-mode toggle. A character’s statistics tab also have been refreshed, becoming more intuitive, as well as the guilds management window – once the update have been applied, players will be able to comfortably create their fractions.

With implementation of this update, due to the database structure changes there will come a long-time awaited full wipe of characters. This is a great chance to join the game, as everyone will have a fresh start and servers will become much more populated.

Meanwhile Gloria Victis is reworking the buffs system – when it’s done, we will be able to implement the alchemic recipes, the weather system’s impact on the characters and the heroes system, which will reward the most active players from each nation. The next step of improving the user experience will be reworking the crafting system, implementing the inheriting of the final product’s properties after the specific materials used by a crafter.
