Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns Crafting Mastery Announced

Guild Wars 2

ArenaNet has revealed the newest Mastery coming with Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. The Mastery system is one of the key features in the upcoming expansion to Guild Wars 2, introducing a new way for players to grow and progress their max level characters. The newly revealed Mastery track helps players with the ultimate endgame pursuit – their Legendary Journey.

Previously, highly sought-after weapons were available through the Mystic Forge, purchased on the trading post, or through drops from enemies or chests in-game. In Heart of Thorns, players can elect to invest Mastery points in the legendary crafting track, setting them on the journey to acquire their legendary weapon.

A related new addition arriving with the expansion is the Map Bonuses System. This new mechanic adds regularly rotated bonuses to explorable maps offering players crafting materials as a reward for completing events. With this system, searching out crafting materials will be a more streamlined experience. It also offers players incentives to return to areas to earn the materials they need.

More details about how these new systems intertwine and improve the crafting experience in Guild Wars 2 can be found in the official blog linked here.

Crowfall: Kickstarter Campaign Finishes on High Note

Independent game developer ArtCraft Entertainment, Inc. put the finishing touches today on the Kickstarter campaign for the highly anticipated “Throne War Simulator”MMO, Crowfall. The Kickstarter officially ended at 7 AM Central Time today with final totals showing 16,936 backers and $1,766,204 raised. Taking into account the additional pledges collected directly on www.crowfall.com, the total backer number tops 17,000 and pledge amount comes to just under $1.8 million.  Crowfall started its campaign on February 24 with an announced funding goal of $800,000, which it reached in the first 72 hours.

This makes Crowfall one of the all-time top funded video game Kickstarters (#15) and one of the Top funded 50 Kickstarter campaigns across all categories (#46). Crowfall also now holds the distinction of being the largest video game kickstarter campaign in the last 12 months.

“The support from our community has been absolutely amazing,” said J. Todd Coleman, co-founder and creative director. “We started strong, and we ended even stronger.  It’s been more than a year since we’ve seen a video game kickstarter break into the top 15, and we couldn’t be more excited!”

The Kickstarter ended today, but the crowd funding for Crowfall will continue on www.crowfall.com. The new funding platform will add several new payment methods for people wanting to support the project, and make it easier for international players to join the community.

“Kickstarter provides an amazing vehicle for our fans to support this project, but we also have players in other countries who haven’t been able to back us,” said ArtCraft co-founder and President Gordon Walton. “For those fans, and for the others who missed the Kickstarter, we’ve opened up our own platform on Crowfall.com.  We’ll be adding upgrades and new backer bundles in the coming days and weeks.”

“This is only the beginning,” explained Coleman of their early success. “We’ve built a vision. We’ve proven that we can find an audience. Now we just need to execute.”

Star Conflict: Dreadnoughts Update Now Available

Star Conflict

A new update for Star Conflict by Gaijin Entertainment has been released. The new dreadnoughts update includes new locations, new quests, new aliens ships and more.

Dreadnoughts

From today, corporations can start building their own Dreadnought!

Dreadnoughts are huge ships with destructive fire-power. They have a variety of systems, which can be constructed and damaged in the combat, for example their different weapons: torpedoes, combat drones and guns of various calibers.

Dreadnoughts can move between locations of open space to take part in Sector Conquest.

Control of the Sectors

One of the new features of “Sector Conquest” is the possibility to establish control over open world sectors with the Dreadnought.

Any corporation, who has a Dreadnought, can take part in this struggle for dominance.

A corporation, that took control over the location, can earn extra income, such as credits and Galactic Standards.

The fights in the open space for sectors will begin as soon as a sufficient number of Dreadnoughts have been constructed. Approximate date of the beginning of the battles — April, 16th. This date may vary depending on the activity of the current corporations.
