Dying Light On Track to Become Techland’s Most Successful Title

Dying Light 45 Day Infographic

Since its release, Dying Light has been occupying top spots in sales charts across the globe. Techland’s latest zombie title has already become the No.1 best-seller in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Sweden, Australia and many other major markets. Today Techland announced that within 45 days since launch, the count of Dying Light players reached 3,200,000 people. With that timeframe applied, it makes Dying Light the most popular title in the company’s history.
“To celebrate the milestone, we pulled a few numbers and compared them to some real world examples to get an idea of what our fans achieved. They’ve really been a busy bunch.” – says community manager Michał Napora.

Following the success of Dying Light, Techland continues its post-launch support for the game . Last week the first free content update for Dying Light went live bringing the much-anticipated Hard Mode, new weapons, additional outfits and more to the quarantine zone. On top of that, the company reiterated its plans to actively support the game with new maps, modes, skills, quests, and other original content.

Arma 3 Marksmen DLC available on April 8th

Arma 3 Marksman DLC

Bohemia Interactive today announced the official release date for the upcoming Arma 3 downloadable content pack, Arma 3 Marksmen. Flexing its guns on April 8th, the Marksmen DLC looks to build upon Arma 3‘s infantry experience by adding new premium weapons, attachments, and gear. Alongside the new DLC, Bohemia Interactive will also release a major platform update, which implements a new multiplayer mode, training courses and showcase scenario, plus several much-anticipated platform features related to weapon handling (#bipods) and sound.

Serving as the backbone of the Marksmen DLC are the seven new weapons. Among these are five marksman rifles, namely the Cyrus 9.3 mm, MAR-10 .338, Mk-I EMR 7.62 mm, Mk14 7.62 mm, and ASP-1 Kir. The other two weapons are the SPMG .338 and Navid 9.3 mm medium machine guns. The weapons will be complemented by the AMS and Kahlia medium range scopes. There will also be new ghillie suits for the NATO, CSAT, and AAF factions to provide camouflage for various terrain types. Furthermore, the Marksmen DLC will add two Remote Designators, which can be used to spot and laser designate targets from afar. Those who want to hone their shooting skills can pay a visit to the shooting range for brand new firing drills, or go on a reconnaissance mission in the Marksmen showcase scenario.

Arma 3 Marksman DLC 2
Overall, the Marksmen DLC aims to redefine what it means to fire a weapon in Arma 3. This idea will be reinforced by a major upcoming platform update, that will be released alongside the Marksmen DLC, and will be free to everyone who owns Arma 3. Besides new playable content and major upgrades to weapon handling, this update will include suppressor and bipod weapon attachments, as well as nine new types of face paint, and three new heavy and grenadier vests designed specifically for improved explosive shielding and ballistic protection.

In terms of playable content, the aforementioned platform update will deliver a brand new multiplayer mode called End Game. Here, two teams compete to locate and secure valuable schematics. On top of this new multiplayer mode, the update will also include the Firing From Vehicles showcase scenario, as well as new VR training courses, objects for content creators, and a brand new set of Steam achievements.

Arma 3 Marksman DLC 3

With regards to platform features, the upcoming Arma 3 update will introduce weapon resting and weapon deployment – which have been on the list of most requested features by the Arma 3 community. Weapon resting means that players will benefit from an accuracy bonus whenever they are near a stable surface, while weapon deployment will enable players to use bipods for a more steady shot. Together with improvements made to the simulation of recoil, and improvements to enemy AI suppression, this should provide a more tactical, intuitive, and rich experience to the players of Arma 3. Finally, the new platform update will make significant upgrades to sound by adding more sound samples and new sound technology. These improvements should enhance the immersion and contribute to gameplay by providing players with a better situational awareness.

To round out the Marksmen DLC package and the supporting platform update, Bohemia Interactive will be expanding Arma 3’s existing Virtual Arsenal feature with Virtual Garage. This means players will not only be able to preview soldiers, weapons, and gear, and create custom loadouts for their characters, but also examine and customize the extensive collection of vehicles in Arma 3. In addition, the new update will open up Virtual Arsenal so that people will be able to try out all of Arma 3’s premium weapons, vehicles, and other DLC content, without restrictions – even if they do not own the DLC. A more in-depth explanation of Bohemia Interactive’s approach to DLC for Arma 3, and how it prevents a split in the game’s multiplayer community between those who own DLC and those who do not, can be found in the studio’s previously released blog.

Arma 3 Marksman DLC 4

The Arma 3 Marksmen DLC will be available from April 8th for 12.99 EUR/10.99 GBP/15.99 USD on Steam and Store.bistudio.com. People can already purchase the Arma 3 DLC Bundle, which includes the Arma 3 Karts, Arma 3 Helicopters, and the upcoming Marksmen DLC, for 19.99 EUR/16.99 GBP/24.99 USD – saving them more than 25% over buying the DLC packs separately.

Mabinogi Duel: English Release Announced

Mabinogi Duel

International game publisher NEXON Korea has announced its brand-new strategic trading card game (TCG) Mabinogi Duel for iOS and Android as one of the first original mobile games it will bring to the US, Europe and other international markets, with full localization in German, Spanish and Russian. The game will offer head-to-head card battles, online card trading, and a massive single-player campaign with ties to NEXON’s classic massively multiplayer online (MMO) game Mabinogi and Vindictus.

NEXON Korea has also opened sign-ups for the Mabinogi Duel closed beta test for Android users in North America and Europe, which begins onMarch 24 and ends on April 1. Players can pre-register for the chance to win big in-game prizes, including in-game currency worth up to six booster card packs, here:https://i.nx.com/FH

Mabinogi Duel isn’t just a small step…it’s a huge leap for Mabinogi, and for NEXON Korea,” said Dong-Gun Kim, director of developer devCAT. “We’re hugely excited about blazing new trails into the US mobile gaming market, and we’re delighted to begin our journey with this new chapter in the Mabinogi brand. With the exception of the excellent game Hearthstone, there haven’t been many attempts to bring authentic, tactical card battles to mobile. We can’t wait to share our own take on tactical card-battling with the rest of the world.”

Mabinogi Duel will be a full-featured card battle game that will offer an unprecedented amount of content, including a substantial single-player campaign and an enormous card library containing more than 1,000 cards that represent powerful and rare characters and creatures to bring into battle. In addition, the game will feature head-to-head competitive play that will let players build a tightly constructed playing deck from their collection to use during tactical duels, in which careful placement of units and smart use of the game’s turn-based mechanics will win the day. There are no draws in Mabinogi Duel. Instead, card battles will come down to skillfully using the game’s exquisitely balanced card library in a way that will let players relive the excitement of their favorite childhood card battle games.
Mabinogi Duel will feature characters and features that recall NEXON Korea’s popular MMO Mabinogi, including a colorful fantasy world full of elves, goblins, warriors and witches, along with regular post-launch content updates known as “Generations” that will add even more single-player campaign content and more playable cards. The game will also offer a unique card trading feature that lets nearby players trade cards with each other from their mobile devices through Wi-Fi.

InnoGames: Easter Events Available For Several Games

InnoGames

Although Easter is still a few weeks away, the German games developer InnoGames just announced three ways to beat boredom during the holiday. Three of its games will host their annual in-game events, with Forge of Empires starting on March 25, followed by The West and Grepolis on April 1.  The company has also released three videos in which they explain the event mechanics.

Forge of Empires kicks it all off with a twist to the traditional egg hunt. Throughout the event fans of the city builder will be able to find and collect eggs to exchange for prizes. The game has also incorporated a social action to keep everyone engaged. Participants have a maximum of six “hiding actions” per day that allow them to hide eggs in other cities.

Grepolis and The West follow suit with their own take on the holiday. On their end, Grepolis brings back a magical reward-laying hen. Players must feed this mythical animal with specific combinations of three ingredients to get rewards.  In addition, they introduce daily and overall rankings based on the number of accumulated eggs.  Conversely The West will host their Easter Showdown which lets players duel against four different bandits. Participants must find eggs through daily ingame activities to unlock three of the four outlaws.  Winning streaks will determine the top ranked player. He or she will receive an exclusive weapon at the end of the event.
