Revival: New UE4 MMORPG Announced
Independent developer IllFonic today announced that Revival will release the first stage of its development this February. The studio has announced that they will be utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 4 to achieve the rather ambitious goal of creating a living-world that provides an uncompromising dark-fantasy role-playing experience.
IllFonic will be releasing Revival in multiple phases, with the initial phase introducing player housing and rewards for in-game characters. In this first phase, Illfonic will open a small piece of Revival to its ardent supporters in the form of player housing. This unique development plan will give pioneering players the chance to be involved from the beginning as they explore their new homes, customizing and upgrading them in preparation for the limitless adventure to come.
“I’ve spent a decade working in the MMO space,” Chris Holtorf, one of Revival’s Lead Designers and Lead Lore added, “and Revival represents the lessons learned throughout the development of three previous online titles. My roots are in tabletop gaming, so the focus on directed play and the dynamic content, made possible by a Live Storytelling team, is right up my alley.”
IllFonic’s unique combination of old-school role-playing, Lovecraftian horror and live storytelling invites players to take their place alongside gods and heroes in an epic new world of exploration, magic, commerce, and villainy. Revival promises ongoing storylines and content that changes in concert with the players’ actions, directed by a 24/7 staff of storytellers and content creators.
“Revival is a passion project that is born from love and pain within this genre”, added Kedhrin Gonzalez, Creative Director at IllFonic. “Revival is insanely innovative and charges against the grain with trends in the MMO genre. It’s not innovative just to be different, it’s innovative because that’s what this genre and gamers need.”
IllFonic is realizing this massive endeavor with the help of the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 4. The studio is leveraging the next-gen features of the Unreal Engine to produce unparalleled visual quality and engaging gameplay in a rapid development cycle.
“IllFonic’s edgy vibe and dedication reminds me how the best game development often happens with a sleeping bag in your office,” said Joe Kreiner, head of Unreal Engine licensing for the Americas. “With their long history of technical excellence and hard core sensibilities, it’s about time we won these guys over to UE4.”
Revival promises an uncompromising vision for the ultimate online RPG experience, offering a world that is always on and always evolving. Every moment not spent in the world of Theleston is one that you’re missing out on, but don’t worry, keeping up with Revival will always be as close as your PC, tablet, or mobile device.

Super Dungeon Bros is a rock-themed co-op dungeon brawler in which a band of four mighty bros must raid the endless dungeons of Rökheim, a giant scar of godforsaken earth, where wars are waged in epic dungeons built by the gods themselves.
“We fell in love with Super Dungeon Bros the second we set eyes on it, and knew we had to bring it to players worldwide,” said Leo Zullo, Managing Director of Wired Productions. “With the experience we’ve gained in developing music games, and our full on charge into digital publishing, partnering with the team at React! to bring some Rock into the fantasy world of Super Dungeon Bros was a match made in Rock Heaven!”
In Super Dungeon Bros, teams of up to four players will control hard rocking warrior bros in the ever-changing dungeons that combine rock and fantasy with dangerous foes, deadly obstacles and hazardous puzzles. Players will take on bosses and plunder loot from the dark recesses of Rökheim where the Dungeon Bros will slay anything and everything in their path, as no challenge is too big for the Bros and their motto, “Bros B4 Foes!”
Legendary weapons can be individually leveled up and co-operation is key to success as the four bros combine their attacks to take down larger opponents and work together to bro-throw bros across chasms with an ‘all four one’ approach to teamwork. Weekly team challenges will pit you against friends from around the world to try and claim your place as the best bro in the world.
Super Dungeon Bros will also feature a totally awesome single player campaign so Bros can rock it out on their lonesome. In the single player campaign, Super Dungeon Bros will scale itself accordingly to create a campaign worthy of a lonely bro. There will also be specific elements that carry over from the Single Player campaign including any collectables you pick up and there will also be specific daily and weekly challenges for single players and dedicated leaderboards.
“Super Dungeon Bros has been our labor of love since its initial conception for the Kill Screen CREATE Competition and has evolved with a goal to make it the best co-op dungeon brawler on the planet,” said Chad Lee, CEO of React! Games. “We felt we had something special even before Super Dungeon Bros won ‘Best Social Game’ at the 2014 Game Connection Development Awards and we’re excited to have signed an agreement with Wired Productions to bring the game to players on multiple platforms.”

Over 9,000 Zombies! Now On Steam
The zombie hit squad of indie developer Loren Lemcke and independent publishing studio Mastertronic have urged the public to beware – Over 9000 Zombies! is bursting out of Steam Early Access and launching in full!
Watch the launch trailer here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Over 9,000 Zombies! combines the unyielding urgency of arcade action with the clever strategy of tower-defence to create a riotous festival of (un)death. Blast, bomb and incinerate the endless hordes by night, build weaponized turrets by day and outlive your fellow survivors for bragging rights. The end of the world needs a good soundtrack and the electro-rock beats of Clearside will keep your head thumping till dawn.
Tons of AI undead enemies powered by Zombie Swarm Intelligence are launching themselves in frenzied attacks across the global sphere and they’re only going to get faster and nastier. Keep your eyes peeled for flaming zombies, highly poisonous zombies, zombie animals, giant eyeballs and even the risen remains of political figures. You’re going to die out there so make sure you leave with a bang. We’ve got you covered with an assortment of guns that’ll make any doomsday prepper drool with envy. We’re talking shotguns, pistols, assault rifles, flame throwers, mini-guns and everything in-between. No permits needed!
As the zombies mutate, a true survivor adapts their environment. Unleash the Map Editor, your hidden tool against the beastly swarms, to create your killing arena and strengthen your fortified bases. Your rules, your terms! They may be slow and stupid but the zombies have numbers on their side. Keep those malevolent hordes at bay, stem the tide and tip the scales in your favour by building barricades and turrets of mass destruction. Then share your map skills with the Steam universe in Workshop and let the nation decide which is best for zombie survival.
The world’s about to end but that doesn’t mean you have to sulk around on your lonesome. Band together with up to three of your buddies and light the night on fire. But beware who you choose as your comrades – only the strongest endure this ultimate fight for survival…
Loren Lemcke, Head Sniper, cautioned: “Many zombies have already been slain and many survivors have already perished, but now that the undead horde has arrived in full force, the human race must call upon everyone that remains to take up arms. Without your help, everything humanity has struggled for will be consumed by the crowds of the undead!”
Stuart Morton, Producer, Mastertronic squadron, commented: “After a successful period of early access, evolving faster than any zombie epidemic to date, it brings us great pleasure to launch the new and improved version of Over 9000 Zombies! A massive thank-you goes out to the whole community who helped make the game what it is today.”
Over 9000 Zombies! is available now on Steam for Windows PC.
Please share this with friends and loved ones. No one is immune to the attack. The zombies have arrived.

Legacy Quest: New Rougelike Mobile Game From Nexon M
Nexon Co., Ltd. (“Nexon”), a worldwide leader in free-to-play mobile games, and Socialspiel Entertainment GmbH (“Socialspiel”), a Vienna, Austria-based mobile games studio, are developing Legacy Quest, an upbeat, roguelike-inspired action role playing game (RPG) for mobile devices. Legacy Quest will be available worldwide later this year as a free download for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices.
Legacy Quest puts players in the fearless boots of a proud line of customizable heroes, where they will explore massive dungeons while fighting monsters and uncovering rare loot. Death of a hero is permanent in Legacy Quest, but every creature vanquished and Soul collected will give players the ability to unlock powerful new traits, enhancing the next hero in their bloodline to continue their epic adventure and take on increasingly challenging monsters and dungeons. Players will adventure through ever-evolving dungeons set in a unique and highly stylized fantasy universe, inspired by the classic 8-bit RPGs of previous generations.
“Socialspiel is taking a fresh approach to the fantasy RPG genre with Legacy Quest’s unique customization and crafting, and a vibrant, gorgeous art style,” said John Robinson, General Manager of NEXON M, Nexon’s mobile game publishing division.
Players will create, customize and upgrade their weapons to fit their play style through Legacy Quest’s unique crafting and customization system. If a hero is slain in a dungeon, their custom gear will be added as new items to the game world and become discoverable by other players as they hack and slash their way through waves of monsters. Legacy Quest’s social features will allow players to trade weapons and armor with their friends, join Guilds to work together to overcome challenges and compete in the player versus environment (PvE) dungeon challenges to earn a spot on the leaderboards.
“Every time a player takes their hero into a dungeon in Legacy Quest they’re creating their own personal journey that will quite literally echo throughout every other player’s game experience in the form of epic loot,” said Mike Borras, CEO of Socialspiel. “But it’s not entirely about collecting loot, we’re going to ensure that players are met with an awesome feeling of accomplishment in Legacy Quest as they battle their way through hordes of monsters while sharing that adventure with friends.”

Spacetime Studios Reveals Call of Champions MOBA
Spacetime Studios, a Texas-based independent mobile game developer and publisher, has revealed Call of Champions, a real-time competitive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game for mobile devices. Incorporating traditional MOBA features, Call of Champions introduces new streamlined gameplay to encourage fast and furious matches. Spacetime Studios will be leveling up the competition at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival from Friday, March 13th, to Sunday, March 15th, where event attendees will have an opportunity to play Call of Champions in a first-of-its-kind mobile exhibition tournament at the Palmer Events Center and areas surrounding Austin.
In the Call of Champions arena, players will be able to control one out of over twenty different Champions across five distinct classes, each coming equipped with their own unique playstyle and special abilities. Players will be immersed in a fiction that takes place in a time beyond the cosmos as they take on the role of a godlike entity that controls Champions in the arena for sport.
“While the concept of the mobile MOBA is not new, we feel there’s significant room to improve the competitive experience, catering to the short sessions in which gamers use their mobile devices,” said Gary Gattis, CEO, Spacetime Studios. “We’ve distilled the MOBA to its core components by removing things like item shops, minions, and jungles and adding powerups, a five-minute clock, and a full suite of crazy abilities at your fingertips. Add on deep social layers like friends, teams, and broadcast/spectator modes, and there is nothing like it on mobile.”
Call of Champions is a next-generation MOBA designed for competitive gamers with tablets and mobile devices. Matches have a 5-minute limit in order to deliver exhilarating action and swift outcomes in each session while enabling players to enjoy quick games on the go. With competition in mind, Call of Champions features an expansive social toolset for players to recruit team members, plan matches, earn achievements and loot through the Call of Champions social hub, plus view or broadcast matches live.
Call of Champions will be featured in the world’s first mobile exhibition tournament at SXSW in Austin, Texas from March 13th to March 15th. At the top of every hour, attendees will compete against a team of Spacetime developers live-streaming from various iconic Austin locations. Spacetime Studios will be in booth #229 at the Palmer Events Center. The SXSW Gaming Expo is free and open to the public. For more information and to track the mobile team in Austin, please visit: www.CallofChampions.com/sxsw.

War Thunder Unleashes the ‘Big Guns’ in Update 1.47
Gaijin Entertainment today announced that Update 1.47, titled “Big Guns”, for the award-winning MMO WWII online game War Thunder is now live. Now War Thunder’s eight million players worldwide have access to a slew of new and improved features, including map improvements, graphical enhancements and additional armored vehicles and aircraft. To see the full list of new improvements and features, check out the official patch notes.
The name Big Guns signifies the arrival of the biggest vehicles from WWII to War Thunder: the formidable bomber B29 Superfortress, with a wingspan larger than some modern airliners, and the super-heavy tank, Pz.Kpfw.VIII Maus, which weighed an incredible 188 tons. Additionally, the USSR gets the early version of the legendary Il-2 Sturmovik, which has the most detailed armor modelling (30 individual components) on any plane in a flight simulation to date and sets the new standard for future aircraft in War Thunder.
Overall, 14 new planes and tanks join the War Thunder arsenal. Moreover, with Beta-testing for the American tank line-up now complete, all players can use more than 30 US WWII tanks in high intensity battles.
War Thunder ground battles become even more realistic with the addition of different terrains. Now tanks move faster over roads, but drift more and slow down when they hit mud or soil. Adding even more realism, the tanks actually slow down and start to chew up the earth, carving deep grooves in the tank’s path, and of course, this off-road driving affects the vehicles’ appearance, leaving them covered in dirt and dust. Tank warfare becomes hyper-tactical, as the straightest route is not necessarily the fastest one!
Update 1.47 also sees the implementation of in-game items, which players can obtain in a number of ways, including daily login bonuses, special gifts, winning battles and through the in-game store. Players can use them immediately or store them for future use. Examples include boosters for research points for individual players or for the whole team, discounts for particular vehicles, chances to get premium planes or tanks and much more. Wagers are special items that allow players to set some conditions (e.g. several victories in the row) and get a huge reward if they succeed.
Of course, this is not the complete list of new features that Update 1.47 “Big Guns” yields, as there are binocular views and driver cameras for more realistic tank game modes, operable canopies for aircraft, night-lights and contrails for planes and improved performance and graphics quality for low-end PCs. For more details, and to view the complete list of new and improved features, please check the developers’ blog and patch notes. Also make sure to watch the newest trailer!
