Neverwinter: The Maze Engine Xbox One Boar Mount Raffle Event

OnRPG has partnered with Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios to celebrate the Xbox One release of Neverwinter: The Maze Engine! How better to celebrate than a raffle to win an epic boar mount?

The Maze Engine is the newest expansion to the Dungeons & Dragons-based free-to-play MMORPG – now available on Xbox One. Demonic princes Baphomet and Orcus threaten Neverwinter with a second wave of the demonic invasion and a potential super-weapon, The Maze Engine. Join Drizzt Do’Urden, Minsc, and other iconic Dungeons & Dragons characters to put an end to the demonic threat.

Neverwinter: The Maze Engine follows the events of the previous expansion – Neverwinter: Underdark. Though adventurers quelled the efforts of Demogorgon, new threats have sprung up. The Maze Engine, a powerful reality-altering artifact, is under the control of The Horned King Baphomet who looks to use its powers to ensnare the Sword Coast. Orcus, the Prince of Undeath, has taken up residence in the abandoned Castle Never, reanimating slain heroes of the castle into an undead army.

Total War: Warhammer Announces Mod Support & Steam Workshop

Total War: Warhammer Announces Mod Support & Steam Workshop

Creative Assembly is pleased to announce that both the Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support will be added to Total War: WARHAMMER for launch. The development team will be assisting some modders in readying their mods to release day and date with the game itself.

Though it was announced previously that the title would not benefit from official mod and Workshop support, CA and Games Workshop have been working away on the paperwork to make this much-demanded fan feature a reality.

So, from launch, players will be able to:

  • Visit Steam Workshop For Total War: WARHAMMERand upload, browse, follow, discuss and install available mods straight from Steam, and access and manage them from the new Total War Mod Manager.
  • Get the Assembly Kit – CA’s modding tool box, previously released for Steam Workshop, will release with the Database Editor and BOB for modifying and exporting database tables and campaign start positions, with the aim to add further functionality, including battle map editing, later in the year.
  • Download Mods – Attendees to CA’s Mod Summits over the last three years will be supplied early access to the game, to help populate the Steam Workshop from day one. Also, well-known modders Magnar and Dresden will receive specific help from the dev team to produce certain mods. Magnar is designing a Legendary Lord Start Position Mod; customising start positions so that Legendary Lords will start in different locations from Race Leaders, while Dresden is engineering a Regional Occupation Mod; altering the settlement rules to enable each race to settle every region.

Alongside the enabling of Steam Workshop, the DotA2 Team at Valve announced last week that they will be accepting submissions for a new Warhammer-themed treasure to mark the release of the game. Also free for any pre-orders made on the platform, further details can be found here: http://blog.dota2.com/2016/04/warhammer-comes-to-the-dota-2-workshop/

Infinium Strike Coming to PS4 & Launching for PC July 14

Infinium Strike Coming to PS4 & Launching for PC July 14

Infinium Strike, the strategy action hybrid from previous members of Ubisoft now forming Codex Worlds, will come to PlayStation 4 in Q3 2016 in addition to the previously announced Xbox One release. The Kickstarter-funded PC version, published by 1C Company, will release on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux on July 14, 2016.

Set hundreds of years in the future, humans are on the brink of extinction after decades of intergalactic colonization. The Wrog, a race of sentient alien ships, will stop at nothing until mankind is eradicated. All hope appeared lost until the discovery of a liquid metal known as Infinium. Harnessing the power of Infinium, humanity has built Freedom Strike, the strongest battlecarrier in the universe.

As chief weapons officer of the Freedom Strike, it is up to the player to maintain the spaceship’s defenses as the Wrog attack from four sides. The player is given a wide selection of weapons systems to utilize on the four battlefronts, including:

  • Turrets – Employ eight types of automatically firing weapons, each with its own advantages and disadvantages for particular classes of enemy ships. Building or upgrading turrets requires Infinium.
  • Fleets of battleships – Send a swarm of heavily armed spaceships to attack the Wrog. Deploying battleships requires fleet points, which are accumulated over time.
  • SuperTech – The most powerful weapon in a player’s arsenal, SuperTech can do everything from increasing resources collected from destroyed Wrog to attacking every ship in a quadrant. SuperTech has a 90-second cooldown.

Infinium Strike offers two game modes. In campaign mode, players advance through 10 missions in their quest to defeat the Wrog. Deep Space serves as an endless arcade mode in which players test their skills against endless waves of Wrog. Each player receives the same enemy attack patterns in Deep Space, allowing gamers to battle for the top spot on the leaderboards.

“After announcing Infinium Strike would be coming to Xbox One and showing the game at PAX and GDC, PlayStation owners demanded Infinium Strike,” said Dexter Chow, CEO of Codex Worlds. “We are thrilled to have such a passionate fan base and will continue diligently working to deliver the experience they expect.”

Atlas Reactor Announces Buy-to-Play Model

Atlas Reactor Announces Buy-to-Play Model

In what may seem a surprise move from Trion, the publisher has announced that it will be switching from a free-to-play model to a buy-to-play model for Atlas Reactor.

Revealed in the April Producer’s Letter, Peter Ju, Executive Producer, stated:

Your reactions have been extremely positive towards Atlas Reactor’s cosmetic and boost-based microtransaction system. We don’t monetize power, and everything that impacts gameplay (such as Freelancers and their Modifications) can be earned via gameplay. We are proud of this system: you get a ton of play options, and it’s fair.

During Closed Beta, we’ve been figuring out how to best tune our Free to Play (“F2P”) game to create a sustainable business. To make it viable, we would have had to do some things that run counter to your feedback, making the game less fun.

Instead, we’ve decided to change the way we offer Atlas Reactor to you, shifting from a Free to Play game to a premium digital game (aka “buy-to-play”). In other words, in order to play the game, you will need to purchase it. Purchasing the game will give you access to all current and future Freelancers.

Players who have purchased a Founder’s Pack will get a copy of the game, and a new pricing structure has been announced for its access bundles, all of which include all current and future Freelancers.

More details on the shift of this business model is available here.
